He's just pissed at the world because Santa only brought him a lump of coal. I must say I find it a neat display idea. Great way to look at the upper part of the fighters (IMO the best part of the planes). I would loose the pink under Nora, she kinda blends to much to that colour (something blue would be a lot better).

Why does amiami list also a 22% discount? Is that whole sale price?

Oh yeah baby!

The first complaint about there being kible on the arms of the toy was cute, repeating the rest over and over and over was unnecesary. Maximiria, you want chunky legs, well Yamato is giving you chunky legs: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?s=&a...st&p=541258 I like the long legs and short body the lineart of the 21 has, but I know perfectly well that the little drawing cannot turn into a beatiful slim plane (just to what dimension do those huge legs fold too???). If you want it to look like the drawing, you get an action figure like the one above, not a variable toy. I'll just get both (and only because the little figure will be cheap; I like a lot more a plausible looking plane that turns into a kick ass robot than an action figure).

Macross 25th Anniversary TV Special thread *READ THE 1ST POST*
Twoducks replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Ok, that was FUN! And the animation and action were freaking awesome. "Meh" on the whole "lets include fanservice" but the Mospeade vibe in there is nice. Tanks instead of Destroids It's official, Kawamori hates Destroid lovers. I'm sold and can't wait for April. -
Come on, you know you looove to bash/rant on Takara/Japanese tastes once in a while.

Hope you are right. That would be really good news. - "A Yamato valk for less than $100... this is madness!!" - "Madness? This... is... the 1/60 scale!" *boot* -

Yamato should pack it in battroid mode. That would mean a smaller box and it would also be an easy way to set it apart from the old 1/60 (the new version looks best in battroid anyways). -

Look on the bright side: with people saying they'll sell some of their 1748, you can expect them to become cheaper. -

Thanks! Bet you've been itching to share the news for months. What did you have in your sign months ago? "Yamato could fail or achieve perfection, they did the later"? -

Almost missed this thread. So whoever guessed this first was right. Looks great and two seaters would be awesome. If the price is right, and no QC issues, I'll be picking up more than one. BTW, in the upper part of the scan, where it says VF-2S, I see Destroid feet -
I think Graham talked about them being limited. But Yamato could still make the "25th Anniversary Non-Engrish Limited Edition version"

Well, that gallery did it. I'm gonna get a Lagann for my bro as a Christmas present.

Thanks Izzyfcuk! The VF-1S ended up looking much better than I thought it would. Those new golden stripes on the arms look very nice and the coloured visor and cannopy are very welcomed. The YF-19 also has the new stripes, cool. Can we see pics of the YF-19 pilot?
-
Thanks Wolfx! Green visor on the Yf-19 sounds good (much better that the clear one). Hope we see pics soon, I only need a good little push to get one. Fighter looked nice but robot form looked like much of the detail of the sculp was lost. Do people with the Stealth sheme miss the panel lines?
-
Did they changed anything, like visor colour, compared to the original pics?

Yay! Lemmiwinks saved the thread! I need to see Pan's Laberint and Hellboy from del Toro. I saw The Orphanage last week and found it not very special and too much like The Others (my anti fantasy/sci-fi girlfriend's constant battying didn't help me get to much into the movie though ).

For the love of God! Jenius, forged about Hurin. Please. Hurin, if it still hurts you so much that someone said that he doesn't care if Cristopher isn't getting paid for the work other people are doing with the rights they bought from his father, then PM him and save us more rants. And, BTW, the Tolkiens ARE seeing money from the whole experience. All the other work Tolkien has that he didn't licence away has gotten TONS of free publicity thanks to the movies. And getting half the world Tolkien horny isn't cheap. No one would think of asking the Tolkiens to pay if New Line's investment in the films had failed. Now, if you have some Hobbit lore, then please share, if not use the PM button Back on topic: I loved this movie version as a kid. Saw it a hundred times on the Disney channel when I didn't have a clue about english. Remmember it being very dark and scary... and almost a musical. Don't know if it has aged well, but a movie that could make me feel the same would be great.

Yeah, it would be very difficult to pull off right. Any writer/director who could make that book into some worthwhile true to the source movies (eye candy aside) would be a genius. Just the truck load of names (most of them just other names for the same characters) would make audiences cry. The action scenes have enough material to be the definition of EPIC though.
