    Finished MASTER OF THE AIR and its the new best series I watched in a past year's time. I joined APPLE+ for Monarch but glad I stayed for MASTER OF THE AIR. That being said, Austin Butler is helluva an actor. The rest of the cast nailed it too.

    Already did, lol. I do see my local Alamo Drafthouse has a showing of THE CROW (1994) this month on a Tuesday but think it would be more cool to see it in October before Halloween this year. On a side note I still have my worn copy of THE CROW that I bought this time in 1994 and the price I paid is a tad lower than the special edition you can buy on Amazon today, lol.     I regret not be able to see the original THE CROW in the theater as it was released while I was in US Army basic training 30 years ago. wow. I'm hoping my local Alamo Drafthouse will have a showing around Halloween this year.

    Very disappointing that it has less to do with the source material than the original film which is more evidence that Hollywood thinks its audience is dumb. If it was me producing the film it would be closer to the source material and filmed in black and white with a early 1990s setting.

    On a side note I'm rewatching BATMAN 1989 with my 9 year old daughter. She prefers it over THE BATMAN and Christopher Nolan trilogy. She did mention the gun shot SFX sounds very old. lol

    Definitely this, it's a generation thing. Notice it with my own young children who don't care about toys like I did growing up. They play with some LEGOs and enjoy cuddling with their Squishmellows but couldn't care less about having the latest toy. They prefer digital entertainment with games on their tablets which is great as its less clutter and plastic that would eventually end in a landfill.

    Kind of a touchy subject but thought I should share as a PSA. I've been clearing out my sci-fi stuff (books, comics, toys, etc) since 2020 that I've been collecting for almost 40 years to make space in my house. Either by selling or giving away the items for free. It's been mentally freeing to reclaim space in my house for necessary things and less visual clutter. I was also motivated to be rid of stuff since I had to clear out my mom's small apartment before I placed her in a rest home. My wife and her siblings went through same with her parents in recent years too. My wife and I agreed we don't want to put our children through clearing out our stuff when our time for residential care comes too. We also agreed not to buy each other stuff as presents and prefer experiences (spa, restaurant, trip) as gifts instead. Want vs Need basically. Moving forward some of the folk who taken in my sci-fi collection were practically hoarders. However they were not the typical disgusting people you see on TV with spoiled food and cats poop all over their house but toys, books, etc taking up floor space, covering furniture and dining table, whole garage and bedrooms. Kinda cool to see toys that were decades old but hugely concerning that they were blocking most of a hallway in a house that was neglected in maintenance too. My point is you have a huge collection be aware "you can't take it with you" and someone (eg family, friends) will be left with the burden of disposing/selling of it someday and it can be costly, financially and emotionally.

    I risked it by not reserving a seat to save money (about $5 IIRC) and was able to find a good single seat at the theater right before showtime but price was still about $15 which is still high imho. This is why I don't take my whole family to see a movie, lol.

    Just saw Dune chapter 2. It was good and didn't drop a beat from the first film. I could tell they went out of their way to save money without looking cheap. Amazing SFX though. Observation that the theater was packed for a sci-fi film that is more high brow than repeat super hero movies.

    +1 Sean Young > Zendaya but that is just based on looks alone, lol. Zendaya is still a good actress and is fine in her role.

    Just read in Wiki there is supposed to be a season 2 however it looks like the writers strike had a significant impact on its production. That's not a good sign as I recall many films and series story and production quality plummeted after the last writers strike in 2007/08. A second season, which will conclude the series and lead into the events of Rogue One, began filming in November 2022, was halted in the first half of 2023 due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, resumed in January 2024, and wrapped in February 2024.     DODGE's new announcement on their EV and a inline 6 ICE Charger line up. Looks cool but would like to know the price of their EV Charger which they hadn't announced yet.

    Bingo! Another reason why I recommended DUNE should have been a streaming series it wouldn't be tied down by MPAA ratings.
