  1. I'm starting to be really glad I never threw any money at them for the TV Super Parts.
  2. Until I saw the gears painted, I didn't realize how much of a difference it makes. It's something I never thought I would care about, but I definitely do.
  3. Seeing as how my old 1/48 Roy is in desperate need of some decent hands, this is a great idea! I'll shoot ya a PM when the time comes.
  4. An adapter/replacement part so you can use the DX hands with the old Yammie 1/48?
  5. I tend to prefer canted back, regardless of which model it is. But I think it's doubly true for the S.
  6. You and me both. I would love some nice fixed posed hands for a 1/48 yammie.
  7. The posts in the OP reminded me that I'd actually really like the Monster from Macross Zero, complete with the unfolding hands. Maybe not as crazy as some things that could be done, but I thought that thing was super cool.
  8. After having the PF 0D in hand, I think I'd really like to see weathering editions of the 0S and a fixed 0A. They need more than just some tampo no steps to fit in, and the Zero designs lend themselves really well to some weathering. I also hope we see some sort of PF Ivanov and that we get both versions of Nora's 51 released.
  9. The Lazengann being a model is/was some of the saddest toy related news in recent memory. It's by far my favorite design from Gurren Lagann and up until now I think all we've had is the Revoltech. I'm hoping the CCS GL paves the way for a Lazengann companion piece.
  10. HLJ has it again too, I'm glad it's more available than it seemed. Thankfully, this is one I don't feel super compelled to have more than one of, I don't think my wallet could take it lol.
  11. I've never been big on the DYRL Kakizaki design since it's on screen for a hot second. His TV 1A though is an entirely different matter. I think I'm really only interested in the TV releases going forward and even then I probably wouldn't go full on and get M&M 1Js and all that. Roy and the original Vermilion Squadron would be fine.
  12. The VF-0D has at least convinced me that there's an argument to be made for their PF releases. I don't know that I've found any of the prior PF options to be totally worth the extra 100+ dollars. The VF-4 kind of lives in a realm between the 0D and a PF VF-1. It's got a bit more going on because of the panel lining, which is nice. I'm pretty happy with the look of the standard version, so if I miss my shot at the PF, I won't be super heartbroken.
  13. The release order of these has been so bizarre to me. Do we know if they're based on anything...like character popularity or something? Maybe I'm just a fanboy, but the fact that the first 1S we got wasn't a Roy, and we also are getting a Kakizaki before Roy just kind of blows my mind. It's also kind of a funky Mix of TV and DYRL.
  14. This is one I'll probably hold on and see what's around at release. If it's like most Arcadia releases that I remember, I'll have plenty of time to decide, which is always nice. I'm not sure I need a $400+ VF-4, but the PF does look nice.
  15. Putting this in the case last night made me really see that I needed something a bit bigger. I want to get some proper dogfight displays going. It only took me 12-13 years of having Nora to get something Shin flew and I'd like to display them together. Detolfs are fine, but they're a little too cramped for Macross stuff. Speaking of missiles, the old 51 came with a bunch of stuff, some missiles included. I wonder if the hardpoints are close enough that you could make it work.
  16. Guess I'm breaking out the set for Roy's death to the end of the show. Whatever they're using for streaming on Prime is totally watchable, but rough. I think the nicer subs and all the cleanup are worth the minor loss of convenience with swapping discs.
  17. I've been rewatching the original show recently, and been doing it mostly through Amazon Prime. I have the AnimEigo set stashed away and was thinking about digging it out. My recollection is that was the absolute best version of the original SDF Macross we had, is that still true? The version on Amazon seems rougher than I remember and the subs are a little janky.
  18. The more I look at it in person, the pictures really are pretty close. I guess I didn't look closely enough at the other pictures people took to notice a difference. I wonder what's the more intended look? I wonder if mine abnormally heavy handed?
  19. For my part, I think it's partially lighting, partially the phone I took the pictures with, and possibly the tweaking I tried to do to get the color to look right. The original shots were kind of...yellow, and I could tell, especially bin the counter. This is more normal lighting without any meddling. Does it seem as drastic a difference between mine and others?
  20. I mean, I AM looking for a DX Max, sooooo clearly I didn't learn moderation lol.
  21. It really is. I was debating several different Valks at the time, but it popping in and out of stock on HLJ forced my hand. Now that it's here, I'm glad that it's one of the ones I picked. The only flaw is that my other Zero Valks look positively sparse in comparison lol.
  22. Well I have it in hand and I just can't even believe it. It looks SO good, the paint job is tremendous. This is by far the nicest looking Valk I own. Once again featuring my kitchen counter because I really don't have a good spot setup for photos.
  23. Having just rewatched DYRL? a couple of days ago, in the middle of an active Macross rewatch, I completely agree with you. The movie is fun, and it sure does look nice, but I definitely prefer how things go in the show, especially with regards to Roy.
  24. We'll see how I feel about it in hand, but from pictures this thing blows my mind. It also kind of blows my mind that Arcadia not only went and fixed the 0D so it didn't explode, they decided to re-release it with the best paint apps ever done on a Valkyrie. Of all the Valks to get a treatment like this, Shin's training Valkyrie would not have been the one I'd have bet on in a million years. Edit: Delivered and now the 6ish hour wait begins.
