Your odd attempts at comparing M7 to bakshi's trash are reaching at best. "Doing something different," and "rotoscoped softcore porn," are two different things in themselves. Next you'll try and claim he made a superior (or at the very least "adiquate) version of lord of the rings.... If you want "different," or "adult" animation, then take a look back at warner's 40's/50's stuff (especially the wartime stuff). Adult in theme, beautiful animation quality, and it doesn't reach down to any cheap low's. Nohting Bakshi "EVER" did matched what came before him (or after for that matter).

I don't think maturity had anything to do with it. He just found a niche medium where he could try to pioneer his own brand of softcore porn & violence. Had nothing even remotely to do with "maturity," as the bulk of his target audience would be high school kids wanting to see blood & tits. His rotoscoping was attrocious (as such the terms "animation" & bakshi" should be used loosely together), and he forced R. Crumb to kill off his own character just to do it service after Bakshi botched it (i.e. Fritz The Cat). The man has done nothing good for animation or movie making period, just presented more stereo types to push people away from the concept of "non-kiddie" animation.

Well, I suppose there could be an inbetweener between Zero & Macross TV. Technically they wouldn't have to call it Zero if it doesn't have the VF-0.

When the hell are they going to do an R2 0079 set? Its been long enough after the LD set to where it should be cool.

I wouldn't doubt that the final episode could push 40 minutes to an hour. Kawamori hasn't let us down yet with an ending, why would he start now?

You can dissagre with me all you like, but you're still wrong for doing so. -SDF Macross TV (all characters pronunce it with the uppercase "O" sound -DYRL (All characters pronunce it with the "O" sound" -Plus, 7, etc. When you couple that with the fact that kana is based on a latin set of grammatical & pronunciation rules as, "A" is pronunced "ah," "E" is pronunced "eh," "I" is pronunced "ee," "O" is pronunced "oh," and U is pronunced "oo." As such, if the name were pronunced with the lowercase o "boss" type sound, it would have kana equivilent to ma-ku-ra-su. That would also negate the gag with the tuna (ma-gu-ro) As for southern cross, listen to the theme song, it too pronunces it southern ku-ro-su. But if you want to argue with how its spelled, pronunced in the original japanese audio (in all series/movies), etc, go right on ahead. Ah, and before I forget, there's also the meaning behind the ships name itself, "Macro (large) Space Ship" i.e. "MACROSS."

Well, if you want to get technical its "MA-KU-RO-SU," but Macross (with the uppercase "O" sound) works just fine (again as in words such as hose, nose, post, etc), but yes, if you're pronuncing it with the lowercase "o" sound (moss, boss, toss) then you're saying it wrong.

how else do you pronounce it? Most dub studio's (including those who did robotech & macross plus) will usually pornunce it "Mac-ross" (lower "o" sound used in such words as "boss," or "moss." Macross however is properly pronunced "Mac-ROSS," sound used in such words as post, most, hose, etc. As such, its unconventional for anyone who's only seen robotech to pronunce it properly.

BTW, which version did you get, the AV or MI version?

That all depends on what you consider "technology." The overall concept of spiritia being that every lving thing generates an aura. The feelings that an individual feels & exert change the type of aura. If you consider biological life forms having the ability to radiate energy based on w hat they're doing, then sure, it's technology (biologically produced of course).

Watching the clip again today, I think it's pierre that was playing the trick. Call me crazy, but if he's smart enough to pronunce it "Mac-RO-ss" after watching robotech, then he obvoiusly know's the difference.

It looks like they corrected their listing without removing their first mistake. i.e. the first listing only says "vol 2," while the second one says 'vol 2 of 3." As far as I can tell, there's only 1 release. Yes and no. Saying more would be a spoiler As for the RT movie, its doubtful they ever intended to use animation from part II. The story picks up a lot in part II (then falls entirely flat in part III), but assuming you can accept the character design changes between parts 1 & 2, you should enjoy it.
