  1. When I checked out the trailer, there was another youtube video that mashed up PR & Eva. That whole "To fight monsters, we created monsters" bit. Thanks for the advice, I'll stick with streaming the original series (1 episode during breakfast), then see where it goes from there. Like I said, I'm not far in - but I'm liking that the characters are all flawed.
  2. Reading the Pacific Rim thread has gotten me into watching Evangelion. I'm about 5 episodes into the original series. Should I keep going, or track down the rebuild movies?
  3. GIVE ME YOUR ROCKET PACK!!!11! (null)
  4. So there's not much campiness? Aww. I mean, I wasn't expecting AoD or anything, but still - the deliberate camp is what sets this series apart from the rest.
  5. I didn't realize they were bringing the campiness back - the trailer looked like a serious remake of ED1. I don't get to the movies often b/c my little ones, but I'll have to check it out @ home later. And Jane Levy's just too cool & cute.
  6. Chas: Thanks for posting that link. Some day I'd like to convert my 2nd VF-1A (started as super, changed mind) to a gerwalk. It's hard to tell from your write-up & not having the kits nearby: did you use the fighter's legs, or the battroid?
  7. If I'd checked this when I first sat down to breakfast, I might've got in at the lower price. Closed by the time I looked later. Meh, no big deal - just glad I got one in at all @ NY.
  8. Was that going to be a full bullpup rifle, or just an add-on for the 17's gun? Cuz I think it would look cool in the 171's hands too. No rush for me on the VF-11 armor set, I've still got eyes on your Qrau & no money or time, anyway!
  9. That's actually a bit of a relief. Gives me time to dig out the EX for photography & sale.
  10. Is that a 1/48 tomcat aside a 1/60 VT-1? Or are those both 1/72? I know the VF-1 is little, but that's crazy if they're the same scale!
  11. Yeah, I think Dr Chiba has her beat. On the other hand, it's always great when people let their geek out!
  12. Nice to see a decent rendering of what this'll look like. I'm so used to seeing the shoulder/neck of the Yamato V2, it looks a little weird - but actually not too far from the original animation. Looks like a good compromise. Hopefully the fit of the parts improves when they go to production.
  13. Whoops, forgot to slide the backpack down! Looks great though.
  14. So what's the head/ neck attachment like on these guys? I read at scorched earth that's it's not a ball joint, but is the head removeable from The VF-19 series? Part of me's considering going all Kurisama on one.
  15. Whaaat?! That's crazy - I never even thought that drawing would actually work! If you look at the torso rendering (upper left), the leg delivery plates also look like they keep the back locked in place.

    Lego Anyone?

Very nice! I like the VF-4 much better when it can move it's shoulders. Much more dynamic, great job!
  17. Oops, double post. Since I'm here, I always thought it'd be cool to get a bunch of 1/144 orgus kits and make a properly scaled Glomar to put them in. Complete with the VF-1J crates.
  18. Don't forget: Joan of Arc vs Marie Antoinette with LASER CANNONS. Never finished the show though, my little girl's naps went away and then I got a job. Maybe someday...
  19. Without the wing, that thing really looks like a lawn dart! Hope this fix works!
  20. Well, so much for the idea that this would be easier to get because Luca sux. (null)
  21. I might have a litening pod, noyhauser. I'll check tonight.
  22. Every time I watch the refueling scene of Zero, I hear it: "Bahhhh, buh buh bahhhhh"
  23. Sorry K, I only mention you 2 b/c we all know what kickass collections you have. I admire them as one admires a museum collection. You should in no way feel sheepish about showing them off. If there's any audience in the world that would appreciate what you've gathered, it's us & toysdaily! You've justifiably ignored the repetitive questions of "what do you do to afford all this?" Personally, it doesn't matter to me. My point was simply that we've all got our own histories and made our own decisions to get where we are. Good for those of us who can collect on this scale. I'm happy with a few, though I still really want a 19F!
  24. While I wish I could afford more collecting, I can't right now. We're coming back up from a recession hit & got a 2nd kid on the way. The most I usually say is "aww, man - wish I could get that." I don't begrudge those who do have the resources to go nuts on this stuff. I'm a little envious of having the resources, but different lives, different decisions. I might hate kicker's or graham's job, who knows? As a parent, I wish there were kid friendly Macross toys. Especially after my girl asked if she could have a Valkyrie like mine. I don't need to get anything fancy though - she'll be happy with my old convertors or pullback vf1s. Or the playschool transformers. In topic, I hope Arcadia continues making vfs, b/c I enjoy seeing how they come together, and that I'll be able to collect more as things even out. And now, I'll just wait for news.
  25. Welcome to MW, Sophie! What's your stance on Macross 7?
