  1. That's the answer I was hoping for, thanks! PS - while hunting for it I saw someone (I think it was you Gubaba) asked why the VF-4 would be in a Robotech reference site. Just in case no one answered, the VF-4 exists in Robotech as the YF-4 because Rick, like Hikaru, plays with a model of it while in his apartment. If memory serves, Robotech lore states the YF-4 never made it into full production and the VF-1 was replaced by the VFA-6 Alpha (amongst all other sorts of mechs)
  2. Wow, haven't checked in on Macross F in forever because I thought we were in official hiatus mode. I read the first post, checked a sub site, but I didn't see an English subbed version of the *real* first episode of MacF. Did I just miss it?
  3. Yeah, swapping hands should be a real piece of cake. They just pop onto little balls.
  4. Oh yeah, that is definitely a sneaky pic... there's no real connection in effect other than gravity (I just splayed out the MPC's feet a bit and sat it down on top of the Tread). Honestly, it looks much better from all angles than I would have suspected... but still obviously not right.
  5. Here's a fun pic I did while working on my review.
  6. SDK, I think you're doing the right thing. A little note though, the CMs hands feel a bit rubbery also although not nearly as bad and they have a bunch less points of articulation in the hand so that should help them stay sturdy. The CMs shoulders also don't ratchet but they feel much stiffer over all and the arms are lighter. The great thing about the CMs, you'll think it has no diecast for the most part but during transformation you'll find the metal... exactly where metal ought to be. Toynami seemed to just look for whatever parts could most easily be made of metal instead of considering what that would mean for stress on the rest of the toy.
  7. Don't be discouraged yet, Robotech.com always sells the MPCs at MSRP and then, when you check eBay a month or two later you can usually find them at deep discounts. It might be the same with these.
  8. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." I never knew anime toy collecting was a physical sport in some places.
  9. Thank you for that, I'll have to try this out and see if I can't get some better poses down and update the post. EDIT - Yeah, it seems bass-ackward looking at it here. What needs to happen is for the heel to go backward, not the toe to go forward... I don't really know how the toe moving forward would help all that much but I'll give it a try.
  10. Well yeah, I figured that out, but this: I need to see a pic of that.
  11. The foot separates from the heel?? That must take a lot of force 'cause I putzed around with that foot quite a bit. Do you have a pic?
  12. Is it just me or is the dark bluetext on the black background in the left-hand nav nearly impossible to read?
  13. I think the price is a big obstacle. It'd be great if Toynami could bring this over as a "Toy" instead of a super collectible "looks great but don't touch and hope it's not already broken" piece. Unfortunately it goes back to the whole "how much should a TOY cost?" argument earlier. If Toynami has an MPC Alpha and Beta retailing for $200+ combined it doesn't make sense for them to have a "toy" in the same scale costing the same amount of money. Really, no matter what price you figure this would always be competition for their existing product. The Ride Armors confuse me though, it definitely seems like they should have tried to bring those over. Heck, why not bundle two in one box and call those the MPCS and then release the Beagle as a new ULTIMATE line?
  14. Well I posted my Mega House Ride Armor review and then promptly opened my Legioss/Tread set. There's something different about the smell of CMs toys when you first open the box. Anyway, I'm gonna put these through the ringer for a week and then post a review. I'll say this, I definitely am more brave handling the CMs toy than I ever was with my MPCs.
  15. I finally got my Ride Armor review up! Click the link in my sig to check it out
  16. I'm a Mospeada completist and I only bought one so I'm sorry you won't be seeing this for sale. This might come as a shock to some but I actually collect toys, I don't just buy them, review them, and sell them. That's not to say I don't occasionally get sick of toys and sell them off, I do that plenty, but I'm not in any sort of business.
  17. OUCH, looks like someone karate chopped your MPC in the back.
  18. Great pics! I'm guessing someone will come up with a decent mod that will allow that arm to keep the Legioss positioned better (like you have it). I like what you did with the rear fins as well.
  19. It sucks man, all these toys are way too expensive for me to afford If only I could some day have a job where I could buy all the toys I wanted. Man, if I could do that I would totally set up a website and give people non-partial reviews of what I thought of each toy. That's why I felt BBTS was a more trustworthy source than a Toynami rep... 'cause I just can't afford anything over $79.99! It's a shame, but at least I have the important things in life like college football to keep me going and hey, at least we have that in common. USC FD, could you post some pictures of the MPC Alpha trying to connect to the CMs Tread? If you could do one from beneath that'd be great. I'd like to see how far off the two are from linking up.
  20. I find it odd that a fan of the University of Spoiled Children doesn't have to think twice about dropping $300 on a toy. Oh wait, that's not odd at all is it? I'm sorry, I couldn't resist...
  21. Scream man, overdrive-inc still has them for like $270 USD shipped via EMS for the blue guy. The green guy is going to run you an extra $140!!!! I'll wait until I have one in hand but I thought it was said that the hips had been modded to make them more poseable in the previous gallery. Even so, hips are only half the battle, you have to have more poseable feet in order to really pull that off. Then, add that all together and you can come up with a super sweet pose... only to realize you can't have the friggin head angle to see over it's too tall shoulders and I'm thinking this toy is on pretty much equal setting with the MPC. I can't believe in this day and age CMs couldn't figure out a way to design a head that turned... on a $300 toy!
  22. My guess is based on the huge derivations from the lineart and the tepid sales (of eBay vendors) of not preordered toys. It's just a guess though, I wouldn't let it upset you.
  23. so it's official huh? Toynami continued to use the craptastic hands? what bastids.
  24. Misterryno, just expand the window it pops-up in as far as humanly possible and it should become legible.
