The only guy they couldn't get involved was Rick Moranis (sp?) because he's so rich from the "Honey I shrunk the..." franchise that he never wants to work on anything again. NIiiiiiiiiiice.

Yes, 15K of the Toynami were made, it's probably closer to 1.5K of the CMs. Also, the CMs is made of higher quality materials and is just all around made better. Another plus for the CMs is that it has the unique Shadow Fighter shoulders that the toynami Shadow Fighter lacks. Sadly, it's not all sunshine with the CMs, it has its faults too including two different tones of white paint, a head that can't be turned, and the CMs interpretation of the sculpt. I've been sold on the VF-25 toys for a long time now.... I want to see the next valk they do already! -
I think I'll have my Beta on Monday of next week. If I get it Monday I could probably have a review up on Wednesday. I'm pretty excited.

You must visit my website: www.anymoon.com and get caught up on Macross toys! Shameless plug FTW! If I wasn't at work I'd post a link to exactly what you need.

How can a reissue also be a limited edition?

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

I thought this thing wasn't due out until April. -
Ha, I emulated this game not too long ago. It was a pretty decent way to kill an afternoon.

The dollar is doing better against the Euro and BP but not against the Yen.

I've arranged many transactions with them through email. I wonder if they have issues with spam screening or something... I know it's a small staff probably handling a pretty heavy load of emails.
-
I didn't know they did that. I figured you could return them where you bought them like most stores do in most countries. Makes me wonder how Yamato could claim they didn't know they had a problem with their shoulders on the VF-0 toys though... you'd figure they'd be mailing them out on a regular basis.

In case any of you haven't checked out my site lately, I managed to get my review of the CMs Mospeada greenies up, here's a sample pic: You can visit the review by clicking here.

Yes, and it's a no-brainer for me. 1) Gnu fast packs = $20. (a little more with the crappy exchange rate). Seriously, that's not a joke. I don't see how any company can justify that. They should be $10 mail away items for those of us unfortunate enough to have bought the toy before Yamato got their act together. 2) $170 VF-0 toys with exploding shoulders. This should have REQUIRED a public apology and free replacement parts for anyone who bought one. Yes, I know this wouldn't have helped all of us outside of Japan but it should have happened. Selling toys that break through no foul of their owner is insulting, to not even try to make amends is far worse than greedy. I'm a big pro market guy. I think generally Yamato is right to allow the market to dictate what they charge. The two instances above though really make me scratch my head. If the new 1/60 VF-1 continues to have problems I'll add a third to that list.

I think we're all going to find the TV-1A will not be so hard to get. I'm sure every HKer worth his Macross salt is figuring ways out to get them. On the thin chance I'm wrong though, I've gone ahead and made arrangements to get one. I did the same thing with the Weathering destroid but I suspect that will be more scarce than the TV-1A. As we've seen with the Roy 1S though, if it's popular enough they may do another window of them at a later date. I'm guessing we could also expect a Weathering Defender.
-
That makes a whole lot more sense. I thought originally they'd do a box showing the Fuke/Shinobu figures and then do another box showing the Ley and Stig type Dark Ride Armors. I guess they didn't feel Shinobu fit in well enough with Fuke.

HA! Oh Yamato...... you are cruel.

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
jenius replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Graham said it definitely has an integral heat shield so it will be perfect transformation. How the heat shield works isn't confirmed. -
Considering the only people in the states who get them order them from stores where you're at and the stores where you're at apparently aren't moving any it would seem that these things aren't selling particularly well. I give Yamato kudos for trying to break out into another market but it doesn't seem like these are taking off. They are decent figures though, probably just an example of one too many trips back to the well.

I hate CGI movies that try to look realistic. So far they've all been festering crap. I really hope this does better but I can already tell I'll hate it by how unnatural all the movements are... everyone looks like a marionette (sp?) if they're not running and jumping. I know it's a tough medium but why not just do a hand drawn cartoon instead??

I think I preordered a defender from Overdrive like two months ago.

Exercise just got stylish again! -
You guys are crazy, the 0S is getting reissued.... they're going to be everywhere also. They don't move terribly swiftly.

That pic isn't showing up for me (probably work firewall). If it's the one that has a hand drawn arrow to the back of the fighter in GERWALK then you've got it right. It LARGELY was fixed for version 1.5 and 2. Of all the Zero toys I've owned only my first edition was so sloppy it was problematic. My 0S 2nd edition does have a tiny bit of slop in that area though and if you're used to how solid the VF-1 feels it might make you think it's flimsy even if it holds together aesthetically.
-
I'm at work or I'd show you a picture from my review of the 0S first edition on Anymoon.com (you can go and click the VF-0 link to see for yourself). The broken back in fighter makes it so the nose droops and leaves some gaps in the back. Really it's just a way of saying the toy lacks sufficient structural integrity in fighter mode so it comes apart a little bit on you.
-
On my 0S Ghost combo the "broken back" is barely noticeable, not at all like the first edition VF-0S where it was impossible to avoid (and my VF-0A was the tightest of all there).
