It's probably good to have a healthy bit of skepticism. Lots of toys are conceived that never get made so I'm just hoping for the best. Thanks for the props. I'm editing a ton of comparison pics as I type (well, nearly). SOoooooooo many toys to review and pictures to edit... it's a good time to be into these shows. I've preordered the MH Yellow and the CMs Yellow so we'll see if either company made enough tweaks to change my mind on anything.

Like I said over on my site, there's one company I spoke with who is pretty serious about making an Inbit Gosu. If people are receptive to Inbit toys it seems very possible we'll get them.

If you can move in minutes then you sir need to start a moving company! LA is good for Macross collecting, I'll say that much.

My opinion on the CMs: Still a decent toy but still not worth nearly what they charged. CMs apparently made a very small production run of them. Here's my advice: wait about six months buy it for $100 or so less than MSRP but don't wait much longer than that. There may come a time when all of these are in collectors' hands and the price will start to edge upward. If Toynami does release their Beta you may actually see some people bored with their CMs toys sell them off kinda cheap... but you may also see some people buy the Toynami Beta, realize it sucks, and hunt down the CMs toy.

I refuse to believe those are the heads that will be packaged with the toys until I open my CMs Blow Superior and see them staring up at me. They did so well with the first heads.

Shouldn't the Supervision Army have all become confused and eventually returned to their former selves after the Protodevlin went back to that other dimension... Hey, maybe the freed Protoculture from the Supervision Army would now begin reorganizing their own empire. Nah, I probably have all this Mac7 stuff screwed up.

I liked this episode a lot. I don't watch a lot of anime and typically dread recap episodes. It was nice to have this recap done by beings (?) other than the characters whose POV we had it from the first time. If this had been narrated by Alto or Ranka it would have been horrible. Since it was mostly a recap from Grace who is quickly becoming the most interesting character it really helped open the show up. Tons of new info all while recapping... very good stuff.

I did a comparison on www.anymoon.com that I suggest you read. I chose the CMs by a frickin' hair and I know a lot of people disagree with me whole-heartedly. So no, there's no "clear" winner, just the very strong possibility that the Beagle will be that winner.

I gotta say, while I'm a moderate fan of the CMs Mospeada toys I totally agree on these exclusives. I'll probalby buy them but these pics look horrible and even if they are rare I doubt they'll ever be all that prized.

When is/was Wonderfest? I thought that happened in January? Are they hyping their exclusives for the next Wonderfest??

HG knows they're up a creek as far as Macross goes, I highly doubt they'd ever try to contact anyone related to that branch of Robotech.

You know what really bugs me? It seemed like we were getting every indication that there was something other than a Vajra up to something on Galia IV. That big eye we saw screwing with Alto's mech seemed to me to be something akin to the Birdman from Macross Zero. Now Galia IV is destroyed and it seems any hope for whatever that thing was to be mentioned again is gone with it. Was that thing just the Queen Vajra's eye in super close-up for? That would make sense, she sensed Ranka and was trying to prevent her from leaving. Still, the art for the eye just doesn't seem to match the art for the Queen.

I don't know, seems like a reasonable rumor to me since it wouldn't be something really self-serving for HG to spread on its own. "None of the original artists wanted to help us so we had to wing it" isn't exactly a flattering rumor to spread.

Isn't this entire argument moot because the meaning is the same. If she's the "beetle queen" then she's a queen of the Vajra. If she's the "little queen" then she's a queen of the Vajra. What does it matter?

From what I understand, the people of HG have tried to contact members of the original Japanese talent for projects (most notably, the Shadow Chronicles). For a number of reasons HG has been unable to obtain these original maestros so they've been forced to make do with what they have. Now, you might all be thinking that sounds crazy but you'd be surprised how hard some of these Japanese artists can be to find, let alone engage in any sort of business discussion with. Rumor had it that HG was so desperate to get into contact with these people that they were sending some of their reps to Japan to attend things like signing events. The fact is the name Harmony Gold means nothing to these original artists since Harmony Gold hasn't had to cut any of them a check in the past (and probably doesn't have much of a budget to do so now) and you get HG scrounging to make something worthwhile through the collective efforts of a bunch of fans and amateurs. So, I've got little hope of HG doing much to be proud of but maybe WB will dump some resources into this. EDIT - Grammar

Just got a review of the YF-19 up on my site. I was fairly impressed with the GNU but I think it prices itself out of the international buyer's realm. They should make the CF their first version of all toys so when it falls apart they can claim "That's a FEATURE!" and fix it for the hero releases.

Well it legally can't be "accurate to the original Macross" and has already been stated to be a "re-imagining" so it looks like you're pretty much stuck hoping for shiny special effects. If this thing actually gets made that's pretty much a given.

Too much of this doesn't add up to me: 1) If LAI is in league with Grace why would the son of a prominent member be placed directly in the path of peril (Luca's position as a member of SMS). 2) The Vajra are an established threat and hence, weapons are needed to remain secure against them. Think of it like the Cold War. Just because the US and USSR weren't actively coming to blow doesn't mean there wasn't a very real and heated arms race being undergone. You would think that even without the Vajra attacking en masse the humans would be buying weapons to defend themselves. 3) Grace has access to a small squadron of VF-27s which means there's some for of NUNS affiliation in all of this as well. EDIT - also, on the V-Virus, the Vajra are clearly specifically engineered to be controlled in whatever manner they are controlled so I don't think we'll find the V-Virus being something that leads to mind control.
