  1. As is so common, Totoro242 is correct. Don't try to remove the pilot, it will be futile.
  2. If Fold Quartz is unique to the Vajra then how does Bilra know anything about it? Does he have a relationship to the 117th also? Is it possible Fold Quartz has other origins as well (although likely not nearly as plentiful)? It seems definite at this point that the V-type infection is related to the Vajra (hence the earlier issues with quarantines). We know that Grace and Mao worked together on some scientific project. I'm guessing Sheryl was one experiment: she was infected with the V-type virus and then given inhibitors to control its development. Ranka was a second type of experiment probably done more under Mao's supervision (perhaps a fusing of Vajra DNA which helps negate the effects of the V-type infection and also causes Ranka to develop fold crystals internally like a Vajra queen). We also know that, as evil as Grace is, she really is working toward accomplishing a feat so grandiose that the Protoculture themselves were unable to accomplish it. It would appear that this feat is timeless/flawless folds and fold communication which would shrink the universe down from infinite vastness to a tiny neighborhood. I would suspect that Grace's sin is hubris and we will eventually learn that there's a reason the Protoculture never got to the place Grace is striving for. In the meantime, is it possible that Grace just needs a huge enough Vajra body count so that she can harvest enough Fold Quartz to make her vision a reality and that's why she keeps spurring all these battles? Is she just trying to make it appear that destroying all the Vajra is the only way humanity will be safe so that she can ensure herself enough crystals?
  3. No... but seriously, with as many little design problems as that toy has, I would gladly keep that seam down the middle if they'd fix the other issues (like breaking pegs!!!!).
  4. I did fix my old Ley windshield with a single drop of super glue... it's the world's easiest fix. Unfortunately, I pulled my first edition Stig out and broke the peg on the rear wheel (obviously not the metal peg) when I attached the piece that becomes the hip armor. That piece is not really repairable so now I'm really bummed.
  5. Is the "damaged" picture just supposed to be someone's imagination of the carnage the Vajra have inflicted on Galaxy? Seems a little disingenuous to show us that image of Galaxy if it wasn't made clear that that wasn't necessarily the state it was in.
  6. <---- working hard on CMs Ride Armor review. I think these qualify as a 2nd edition toy as CMs has made some improvements. I think having Mega House and CMs competing with each other is going to prove beneficial to everyone.
  7. Yep, I've got the crapnami preordered and my fingers crossed.
  8. The 1/60 Gun pod with the new 1/60s is dead on in size to the original 1/60s. I think your method of comparing the 1/60 gun pod to the 1/48s is skewing your image of what the proper size should be. Perhaps you just prefer it to be too big (and there's nothing wrong with that preference). As to the lack of detail in the gun, the whole thing is slightly less detailed than the 1/48, it's the kind of thing that happens when scales shrink.
  9. Leon and Grace said they were training the Vajra? I think I missed that line. I remember hearing that the Vajra were evolving.
  10. If the clear/metallic one counts... I already have one Oh, speaking of ride armor exclusives, there's a new post on my site:
  11. You can get "Robotech The Complete Collection" on DVD and it's the exact episodes as they aired way back in 1985. Since there have been a few slightly altered DVDs since then you could probably get the entire Robotech series for like $30 that way. For an extra $20 you get a better picture (I think they used cleaned up Macross footage) and updated sound effects with the Protoculture Edition. That will get you well indoctrinated into Robotech and it's kinda screwy lore. The original series (which are better than their adapted Robotech brethren, especially Southern Cross) will probably run you close to $100 to get but has better music and sturdier plots. You can get the original Macross for $40 and Genesis Climber Mospeada and Southern Cross will both run you around $25 each.
  12. The Dark MH has the same small tires. You guys sure it isn't just an optical illusion making Yellow's tires look bigger? Remember, the front end of Yellow's bike does dip lower than everyone elses.
  13. It looks like we're stuck with crotchless armor (Stick you naughty bastard) but I can overlook that easily enough. You know, that face doesn't look all that amazingly wonderful to me. It looks good but I think I may want to see a comparison of the RT head next to this Beagle head.
  14. I'm assuming this edit has to do with my "don't feed the trolls" comment. I hope it doesn't though as you'd be missing the point of my comment entirely and it'd be silly to prophesize with an edit happening after the fact. I was telling you NOT to feed the trolls, not telling you that you are one. You should also note that intelligible (I prefer intelligent) debates are far more likely to be engaged in when the mods haven't already weighed in telling everyone to move on.
  15. That's a pretty large post about Roger after a couple mods essentially told everyone to shut up about Roger. Don't feed the trolls. Update: Dark Ride Armor post goes up on my site sometime between now and tomorrow night (I live in California). It all depends on how long I get stuck at the office.
  16. One problem, by Macross standards on love and relationships, Mao would be too old to be Alto's mom.
  17. Good work Roger. Anyway, Sam, yes everything will be going up on my site. Unfortunately, there have been a bunch of toys released all right on the heels of each other that I'm having a very hard time keeping up. I spend all my free time these days taking pictures of toys and don't end up with any time left over to edit the pictures or make a write-up (the six days a week I'm working don't help either). Soon enough though... and the pictures are Suhweet. They (MH) improved the arm by adding a little swivel area just below the elbow.
  18. I got the CMs Wonderfest toys and the MH Dark in. The MH Dark is now my favorite Mega House ride armror and it does feature improved arms. Very nice. The CMs Blow Superior (metalic/clear edition) didn't come with a head!! It does come with the Ley, Stig, and Yellow helmetless heads but no helmeted head! Kind of a bummer but it looks like it comes with a mail away card so that they can send you a head when they make one... I dunno, I have to have a Japanese friend translate it for me. It also comes with instructions printed on regular paper so I'm thinking that they hit some snags on a tight deadline but decided to sell the toy at WonderFest anyway. Oddly enough, the standard Green Stig type comes with 2 helmted heads... haven't had a chance to open any of the plastic trays yet, I just checked for content. One cool thing about the Blow Superior I noticed, also could be construed as lame, they made the clear metallic one have a sparkly finish on all the blue pieces. Definitely not the most appealing ride armor for the diehards but it's pretty cool for what it is.
  19. Hmm, I'm guessing fansubs are out then.. away I go to download.
  20. Hmm.... kinda wish I weren't looking at pictures from episodes that hadn't aired yet....
  21. This thread seems to have less and less to do with Graham's review. Perhaps it's time for a new 1/60 thread geared toward upcoming releases.
  22. I'm with CYS and CYF on this one. Hard Boiled and The Killer are full of win.
  23. I watched RT first so that background synth stuff will always have a warm place in my heart. My brother still has the Robotech Zentraedi Theme as my ring tone when I call him. The first time I watched the original Macross I thought the background music there (just background mind you, Minmay is all sorts of win when it's Mari) was pretty lackluster. After watching more Macross though it grew on me just as much as the techno stuff had with RT when I was little. Now I can imagine the opening to DYRL with the SDF coming into the light and that orchestral stuff is pretty effective.
