This was when the exchange rates sucked so this toy cost nearly $300 shipped... ouch!
  2. I need help from someone who has the most recent Takara reissue of MP-10 (came with a lame display stand). I've noticed that Hasbro upgraded the front supports on the trailer (the supports that allow the trailer to stand flat when not attached to Convoy) to have a little lip which makes them much easier to pull down. On the first TT MP-10, they don't have this lip so getting those supports down is a total pain in the butt. Does the reissue of MP-10 that came with display stand have the Hasbro lip added? I would assume it does since MP-10 Eva has the lips added. I'll try to get pics up later if anyone is confused.
  3. Yeah... I'm still waiting on their 1/100 VT-1 and VE-1 sets.
  4. That was my brother's ring tone for a long time (we have a friendly but competitive relationship). My doorbell is currently the children's lullaby version of Nine Inch Nail's Sin.
  5. Well that label says 1J Max GBP so presumably you get the valk plus the armor for $70. That would be cool. Perfect news for the guy who just said he wanted a 1J Max. I wish toys worked out that way for me!
  6. We don't know a whole lot but here's a link to the thread where the news first was delivered: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41926
  7. With Bandai making their 19 I think it's unlikely Arcadia will go back to the well any time soon.
  8. They are making a new version of that line presumably later this year so if you can you should wait, you'll probably get a better toy cheaper.
  9. Big differences, they won't fit. See anymoon.com for more info.
  10. Ugh, I totally disagree on the 11. It was good for its time but it could use a rebirth with better articulation and a more secure shield.
  11. Wow, looks like Amiami has some Ozmas Renewals to unload fairly cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VF-25S-Messiah-Valkyrie-Ozma-Lee-Custom-Renewal-Ver-Macross-Frontier-/301526391278?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46345f99ee
  12. I think that Robotech fan is conveniently forgetting the actual music in Robotech to instead focus on the background music. I love Robotech's background music, it makes great cell phone and doorbell chimes. The singing in Robotech though... wow.
  13. Ah I see! I guess I really will have to buy this newest wave and compare the plastic to the original releases.
  14. Uh, they did make a 1J max... it's in series 2.
  15. As I recall, Mr. K at Arcadia went out of his way to say the 0D wouldn't be backward compatible with the Ghost, that's why I would hold my horses on that one. Also, we don't know that Arcadia bought the ghost molds from Yamato. We know a lot was left behind... but I think the only thing we know for sure is that the 1/48 mold didn't make the move... everything else is a question mark. You're right though, you can throw the fold booster on the Arcadia 19 toy.
  16. Don't get ahead of yourself. It looks like it's made with a ghost in mind... whether or not that's Yamato's ghost is another thing entirely.
  17. ARM THE PANIC BUTTON!
  18. I totally agree. Another thought would be to release like three unpopular paint schemes at the same time (like Max DYRL 1A, Kakizaki 1A, and Alaska Base 1A). This would allow them to contract one production run of a typical size (say 1000 units) but end up with three variants (by just telling the factory to switch up the paint at certain points.
  19. Milking molds is absolutely the key to success but they should keep the obscure stuff to extremely limited quantities with very high MSRPs.
  20. I don't think I would get one but does anyone know the best place to get an ultimetal Optimus? It looks like $800 is the mark most retailers want but oddly it looks like the Japanese retailers didn't carry it.
  21. Does anyone know if Votoms modification kits for the 1/12 Yamato toys still show up at WF? I'd love to get a couple.
  22. The lighting at these shows can be kinda brutal and it might not be a final 0D. There's still hope!
  23. 100% agree. I would also advocate toward starting with a heavily modified "new gen" where the stuff that old fans really care about has already happened and past and now we get a scifi story of a destroy and inhabited earth being freed. It would eliminate all licensing issues in one fail swoop.
  24. Ya trollin' me? Believe it or not the license issue got a little hairy there. EDIT - at least that's how the story goes... obviously I was never in the room.
