i started out with those cheap takatoku vf-1's & sdf-1's. they died then *gasp* i hit a G.I. Joe phase... tragic... after that mess, it was pretty much a Macross hunt for the majority of my high school life eventually Yamato came along & the rest is history

well, that's one i was referring to the tv series. the SDF1 re-enters (i think) 2 times in the series, one of 'em shows the bent knees but... we're talkin' movie version, so does that count ?

i think there's an episode where they show the SDF1 with bent knees. it was a re-entry scene, i think after the final fight with bodolza

hmm... doesn't look like it has provisions for the extended stock either looks like a re-release with stock & silencer's pretty doubtful

well i'll be damned... "Automorph" as for the prime... not bad, not bad at all do those look like rubber tires? i hope so... i wonder how tall it is ?

actually, it was the lack of features that kept me from buying it, the price tag was kinda like "another reason not to" i was hoping for more gimmicks with the coffin other than storing the cerberus. and i prefer the OD version, LOTS of stuff in the coffin and he's in a suit ! i'm kinda hoping they do that version and then nothing would stop me from getting it the gimmicks alone would make the fig worth it

i hope they do Gungrave figs. i've always wanted the Beyond the Grave fig, but it's outrageously expensive for it's size. with this line, they'd be much more affordable

man... i'm gonna have to say those novelty glasses with springy eyeballs would've been much better maybe a muppet would've been a better design choice. the same physics apply, so why not ? EDIT: the deluxe toys are actually pretty decent, they capture the spirit of trannies so much better. between the 2 primes, i think i'm gonna have to go with the takara engineered one, the one with the battery box (at least i think it's from takara). but the goofy head's gotta go

so why'd they go for bumblebee instead of optimus? is it because bumblebee's got some horribly 'adorable & cutesy' scene in the movie that kids are gonna go ga-ga over? *GASP* is this movie gonna pull a Jarjar ?

those are hands ? i thought they were potato peelers, onion peelers or some sort of super kitchen utensil "i am transformed" sounds more like it's gonna show up in some special edition DVD, maybe in subtitles well, it doesn't sound SO bad... but what if they said it in 'ye olde english' ?

kelsain, you have a point, mass between the 2 cab styles would make their choice a sensible one. bigger truck = bigger bot mode. but from what i'm seeing, i don't believe they're moving the same amount of metal. stuff looks like they just disappear or appear (and morph). for me, it just looks like the same old animation magic, but with CGI right now, they look like TRANSMORPHMERS to me, or "Invasion of the Maladroids" or something but that's just me but seriously, it's the technical & design stuff i don't like. i'm not "it ain't g1 enough!" but i do believe they could've made better choices with these things. it could have been much better! it just looks like they were pulling crap from their asses from the beginning & making excuses on this one

The long nosed semi excuse is lame, using a long nosed model wouldn't make prime any taller in the movie, now that they're already morphing stuff & not "transforming" with stuff "magically" appearing, disappearing & moving around during transformations, how exactly would you know if there are the same number of parts in the bot mode ? so... i would've taken " 'cause we wanted to change stuff ! " as a better explanation. PS: if Weaving makes the cut, that would be at least 1 good reason to see this movie EDITED

the gunpod problem's a combination of the thin grip + a slightly misaligned peg hole. it's actually misaligned vertically AND horizontally. i put the defiant gunpod in its place with a pin vise & a very small amount of super glue and the fix is almost invisible... except for me, i know it's there 'cuz i put it there all you need is to remove a little plastic (very little) on the left side of the grip's peg hole i had to check the alignment a couple of times when i was drilling (shaving) off very tiny sections, then used the super glue to tighten things up hope that helps PS: sorry, no pics

grebo, i like the new images, i think somebody posted them a while back, with the transformation sequence glad you like my stuff hmm... when i'll ink them is a mystery even to me i have a LOT of stuff that'll probably never get inked, they get colored, but not inked ...weird

hmm... kinda reminds me of old '80's transforming toys, specifically gobots. interesting, simple... but not too spectacular IMO they're a lot better than some other ideas i've seen though (and i've seen pretty terrible ones)

if they have to follow U.S. gun laws, i'd say the alt mode's gonna be a super soaker but from the major starscream & kiss fiasco, i'm willing to bet they're gonna forget the western market even exists & build a japan-legal real steel gun replica

i'm gonna say... it's the little stuff he's posted in threads here & there... like the perfect 1/60 VF 1 thread... he's practically got a list of "possible" improvements yamato's doing (or already done) aside from the "nearly obvious" YF 21 ...that's a lot of stuff he "can neither confirm nor deny"

F i'd say more, but i might crush the guy's spirit or something... and i've done too much "spirit crushing" already woulda been an F- but i give him credit for effort

wow... now those are really logical & feasable transformations what the hell were they smoking when they thought these designs were a good idea? did they just pick up guys that know how to use a 3d program for these designs? cg transformation magic... LAME sure, i can appreciate the bot designs, but NOT as transformers.
