  1. That's cool looking!!! I think you'll need to add beer can/squid drink and eye decals for it... - MT
  2. How about this? http://www.macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/sdfmacross-index.html - MT
  3. AWESOME job Berttt!!! The finish and lighting on that are top notch! Ditto to what the others said about movies props. Time to make a home movie Congrats on chalking up an excellent build to your collection! - MT
  4. Thanks Sketchley. The only problem is others being able to easily import it into their works. They have to cut and paste from the PDF versus just right clicking and pasting. But for other types of work the PDF is great! Thanks for your tip! - MT
  5. Aren't the EA-6's being pahsed out by the 18's? How old is that footage. That si the best ever first person footage too. I kept waiting for the guy to get sucked into the EA-6's intake! Thanks for sharing! - MT
  6. EXO's figures ARE GREAT! The Zentraedi pilot he did for me came out great! - MT
  7. Yeah, Big F said it, we lose people and we wonder where they "go to." Thank you kanedaestes for sharing with our family here and letting us know. I pray for his family; losing their dad/husband is not easy - I've seen it too many times. Thanks for being part of our family Macrossman and may the Lord bless your family as you move on! - MT
  8. Wow, I missed this AWESOME upgrade! It looks great and you've improved a lot of the engineering issues and limitations of the old mecha. I'll have to track this. GREAT work! - MT
  9. This kit came out absolutely GREAT!!! I too believe you got the line art and anime magic thing balanced just right! I kept forgetting about this NOT being in the modeling threads. Why wasn't this over there? AWESOME work! My son is drooling over it and wants one - MT
  10. Some people are going to read this and say, "duh!" But I always wondered the difference between the two. I have to convert a lot of Power Point drawings to a more common format like JPEG, but I'll be changing that to PNG to resolve a lot fo the clarity issues I had to put up with. Thanks Jin! - MT
  11. Those came out great Zombe! You have a VERY creative mind to use for all those different bits and pieces. I remember the earlier stages of the Frazi thinking, "he's gonna need a lot of primer to cover over all those colors." I am laughing at the pedometer though - how many laps has your T-65 made around the Death Star? Have you shown your co-workers what you thought of the pedometer Congrats on two marvelous displays for your collection! - MT

I really like the metal fininsh and choice of colors! Thanks for sharing that great piece of work! -MT
  13. I thought this was going to be a different kinda thread too! In reality, we don't have the technology. The turbines that could lift such a craft would suck so much fuel, it would not be practical. The F-15 can go vertical because of its power to weight ratio - but it can't maintain that very long, say like a gerwalk in hover mode (out of ground effect). Then the robotics would take up so much weight, what weapons could you carry practically? Even the Harrier can only hover so long due to temperature issues (it has an onboard water injection system to aid in cooling - until the water runs out!). IF you could get past the fuel and power to weight ratio thing compounded by robotics (which are dead weight when not in use), then you have a VERY delicate, lightly armored vehicle that small arms fire could take out easily. Then comes maintenance - turbines, robotics, airframe, avionics, and a slew of other systems that specialists would have to maintain. That all equates to not practical with current technologies or being cost effective. Yes, I actually went there with all this!?!?! On the other hand, dogs can surf, skateboard, hanglide and kinda talk. Give it up Pikashoo, go shave your head, wear clothing of the opposite sex or whatever you have to do if you lose the bet...because I think you did! I say all of the above in a funny and light hearted spirit - just to clarify - MT
  14. That's cool Jefuemon! Herve, keep us up on the X-47B build. I have the Orange Hobby kit in 1/350 which has awesome details for its size. You KNOW it's gotta be a Monster - but which one is the question - MT
  15. That looks ccol; thnaks for sharing! - MT
  16. Some cool stuff guys! That's great Jefuemon you got to meet your favorite group! How did you manage to go about doing that? Modelglue, I built that kit about 23 years ago! It does not match up to modern kits, but it was "the bomb" back in the day! It was also the biggest valk styrene kit adding to it's popularity - the cool box art didn't help either. - MT
  17. Those are some GREAT models and photography to match! Thanks for sharing! - MT
  18. It just keeps looking more awesome! - MT
  19. Double trouble! What a great looking pair of VF-4's! Your client is blessed for sure! I built the vinyl kit of this from the 80's and the warping drove me nuts! Even with warm water is didn't want to sit right when I re-shaped it. As you've illustreated, when you put the work into it, this is a beautiful plane! - MT
  20. Poor Electric Indigo's model gets no love (even with "three legs") you can take that however you want. I still think it looks cool all the same! Thanks guys! The figure is 28mm / 1.10" tall - same as the old school 1/60 Gundam pilot figures. That makes him a giant at 10 meters for a 1/350 scale model. I can't say what will be released yet since I'm not on my own doing these. I hope to though in January 2014. I'm also working on getting my funds together to cast what I've done. - MT
  21. Thank you guys! Just a short update with what photos I've taken so far. Here's the bow section hanger bay with the upper level lighting wired in and some decal work. The ceiling crane is also finally installed. Some of the assemblies here have been laying around in a box waiting to be installed for years! I hope to have a REAL update in the next week or so. - MT
  22. WOW! No posts for December yet? Everyone must be out Macross shopping While the Daedalus paint and decals are drying... Thanks to EXO for taking on the commission of digitally sculpting this 1/350th Zentraedi (1/60th scale human sized figure). EXO's sculpt was awesome, but Shapeways orientated him laying on his face! You can see the difference. To make it worse, the frontal detail is in a lower DPI than the back so the steps were more noticable. You can see from the side photo the clear and white differences. The white is the jacked up printing they did. I was able to clean it up, but the detail is not as good as EXO's original. Then final shots with a flat primer coat on them... This is part of what I'm hoping to release in 2014 with some 1/350th kits awaiting casting. Mad props to EXO for sculpting this (I SUCK and sculpting people). - MT
  23. It's cool to see this getting going again! - MT
  24. What the others said for thinning/stripping is spot on! Tamiya paint is great! You either have to put it on by brush with a fairly thick coat and fairly quickly if you want to feather out the paint (most model paints are like this). The next and BEST method (for any paint) is to airbrush it - which I'm guessing you're not. If that is way out of your budget, spray paint cans should be considered. Hope that helps! - MT
  25. That came out really looking really cool! - MT
