  1. I'm glad jenius pointed out the Regult scheme, I didn't pick up on that either. It's too bad the plastic was so brittle, all the same, it's always cool to come across an oldy but a goody! - MT
  2. It is looking good so far. Great tiny detail work with the 3mm Minmay and VF-1J. - MT
  3. Congrats! That's when they packaged models to look cool! Many now they just throw in a bag. I love the blister packs for special parts and the artwork that accompanies it. Those are good kits. The proportions might be slightly off, but I do like them and built a couple myself. -MT
  4. Tigeriffic! Hopefully it has some type of face or eyes on it. - MT
  5. Thanks for sharing guys! There's some pretty cool stuff there! - MT
  6. Nice touch! Are those 5" AA battleship turrets?- MT
  7. That's a great build and in a "normal" scale that is practical to get other accompannying items like aircraft and figures. Great engineering and use of common materials! Congratulations! - MT
  8. Nice CLEAN build anime52k8! It came out great depiste the "mistakes" you mentionmed that aren't visible. The Superhornet looks great too Checkmate! The weathering looks great and very realistic! - MT
  9. It looks better than just plain white! Nice touch. - MT
  10. Missilicious!!! I wonder if the Hasegawa Standard anti-radiation missiles would go good with this? - MT
  11. First the plumbing pliers and then I'll run a screwdriver around the edges prying it up slightly around the edges if it's really stubborn. Tamiya are my favorite paints too. - MT
  12. In all honesty, every kit has some issues with it. Even Hasegawa has had issues with their kits. I think the kit looks great and considering how much more engineering went into this and how much articulation there is, they did a good job (versus great job). You have to give them credit for making a model kit with the closests transformation and articulation yet. The generous weapons load set is a nice touch too. Yes there are proportions issues, but most kits have that anyhow. - MT
  13. OOoooh, it glows! The lighting effect looks great - I didn't really notice the difference in flicker rates (I haven't been on any starships lately). I hope to see the rest of it running soon!- MT
  14. When you cover up the head in battroid mode it looks better I'm still mulling it over... - MT
  15. Welcome Edson! I'd just make sure the fans rotate and maybe have removable booster covers. An opening canopy of course would be cool too. Just some ideas. - MT
  16. Thanks Gakken! The weather has been warmer, but now its the humidity. The white trim is done and now the ramp too. I'll have to post some pics. It's taking up HALF my storage closet. I'm seriously thinking of finishing it and selling it. I hate too, but it is too big. My current house (and wife's decorating) don't give me much room. I have the destroids too - just not built up! - MT
  17. (Gang signing a big D), yo, Duplicolor rocks too! If it's Krylon Fusion, others say it sucks (flakes). But Duplicolor or Krylon regular primers are great - as long as they have the special spray nozzle! That's all I use for my models or have used for the last 15 years. - MT
  18. HLJ has LED sets complete with connectors and battery holders. Do they have Radioshack or similar in your neck of the woods? They sell battery boxes with switches and LED's already on them. You could connect additonal LEDs up to the prewired leads. - MT
  19. Looks great 505th! - MT
  20. They came out great!!! Is it just me, or do these guys look like a dance team (minus the tow)? - MT
  21. My favorite and it's easy to get: http://www.krylon.com/products/indooroutdoor-primer/ I build 1/200 and 1/350th scale models and none of the TINY details are lost. This stuff is easy to get, lays down smooth, and the special nozzle (note the picture on the can) puts out a fine mist and can be slightly adjusted too. - MT
  22. Reminds me of the old Cold War photos. The design does look more aggressive and the intake is a nice change! The pilot helps make it believable. - MT
  23. Both my children are young and have watched the Macross TV series. The others they want to watch, but all of them that I have (I don't have M7) have some sort of inappropriate language or content. My daughter will even ask, "dad, is this inappropriate?" Besides, it gives us something to watch later on! My children and I have had some great times watching anime together! Some tasty snacks help too! - MT
  24. Landing gear should be easy and even some rubber tubing for tires. The chin is an easy fix too with some extra styrene and a file (cue Dr. Frankestein maniacal laugh)! - MT
  25. Thanks Noyhauser for sharing those tips! Those who haven't gotten the Ttrytool sets - you're missing out! I love mine and I just use the stock needle that comes with one of the two (I sharpened it slightly). It's good to see your Yamato coming along. That deck bothers me too. The aftermarket wood deck kits are still from a solid shaved piece of wood so even though they have 1/32" spaced lines, the wood grain comes out funny when you coat it. Micro mark sells some proper decking, but it only goes as small as 1/16" - too wide.
