  1. Yes all those stories are true and brought much grief to their owners. The only solution to this problem is DON'T transform it. You can leave it in plane mode with all it's attachments. If you wanna put the ghost booster on it than that's fine but don't mess with the transformation. Oh, and you may have to do an operation to fix the droopy nose and intake gap. Other than that, it's an awesome toy! I hope I didn't scare you more.
  2. how in the world did you manage to make it stick on the stand? Mine keeps falling off backwards.
  3. Ok, I fixed the droopy nose on my OS and I have to say it was more difficult than the 0A. The nose on the 0S was much tighter and had glue on one of the the screw point. Also the metal bar was much more harder and took longer to bend into place. But in the end it all worked out.
  4. My box was compressed a little and the flap had this weird dent on it. I guess it went through heat and rapid cooling or something. As for the SV, as soon as I took it out I was like WTF? It felt so "crispy" and cheap. I mean it wasn't at all what I thought it would be. The wings are so thin and fragile looking and the tails are soo loose. The hands don't even hide into the body and the head seems to be misshaped. Naturally I didn't transform it and I just put it back in the box and it's on display. This whole time I was going by the youtube video reviews and photos on the web about how cool the SV is and stuff but it ain't. I am SOO glad I didn't pay full price for this thing. sheesh. I am soo sorry to hear that you got a broken one and I totally agree that we shouldn't have to pay extra for a friggin defective item.
  5. My SV-51 arrived today from HLJ and I was somewhat disappointed with the shipping quality. Usually an item from them is sealed in a plastic wrapping to keep it shiny minty fresh but this time they just stuck the item in the box with a few bubble pieces. And when I say stuck I mean stuck. There were no gaps on any side to give it some room to move a bit. Could it be because I got it using the 50% off Fedex sale and they cheaped out on the packaging material? So do I have to pay full price to get the excellent shipping treatment? What the hell? Anyone else got their item form them like that?
  6. Chronocidal - I did your droopy nose fix method on my 0A first and it worked perfectly! It took me like 10 minutes and yeah you have to press carefully on the bar with your thumbs and hold it for a while. Next up is my OS and hopefully the fix will go as smoothly as this one. Thank you so much for the guide and may you live long and prosper.
  7. You can get a VF-11B for a good price form Ebay and most HK online hobby stores.
  8. Yeah I love the Ivanov color scheme the best but in this case the sale item wins. Now all I need is a VF-11B and I am done with Macross collecting. That is, until the VF-19 comes out.
  9. My very first ever SV-51 shipped today from HLJ thanks to their Sale. My patients always pays off with these guys.
  10. I was thinking about getting a Macross Plus version of the YF-19 but after looking at the VF-19 in plane mode I am done. I already have a 25th anniversary 19 and a DN and that's all I will get of the YF. The only thing I don't like about the VF-19 is the chunky battroid mode. But than again, I don't transform my Yamato valks so I don't really care. The plane mode is awesome and that's all that matters to me.
  11. Definitely the VF-27.
  12. Finally my VF-1D came in today but a side of the box was squished. ARGH!!! Damn you SAL and all post offices in general AArrGGhH! On the brighter side, my 1D didn't get a scratch and looks beautiful. Can't wait to show my wife...now I Just have to find time to put the *NO STEP*s all over it.
  13. Holy crap really? Well this is the last time I'm ordering using SAL.
  14. Exactly, they have to be trimmed and placed on just right.
  15. I voted yes. I just hope the V2 19 has a more accurate fighter mode. Oh, and I love my DN too.
  16. How long does it take for a SAL item to arrive in the states?
  17. I just got a VF-0A from ebay being shipped USPS and a VF-1D virgin road from Hobby search being shipped using SAL. It's my first time using SAL and don't know what to expect. Is SAL secure or should I expect a dented and banged up item?
  18. The most difficult decals to apply were for the cockpit display for the original v1 1/60 and the 1/48s. I mean you had to trim them so close and than you needed a magnifying glass and nerves of steel to get those just right. What a rush. And thank you guys for all the panel lining tips and stuff. I guess I'll get a nice and cheap Vf-1A to try out all the techniques on.
  19. I thought of ordering form there too. Just wasn't sure of the item status cause it didn't say "in stock" but said "offer". Not sure what that means.
  20. I trim every sticker I can (even the NO STEPs) and yes they do look much better and natural than just peeling and sticking em. It's friggin painstaking but the end results are perfect and I find it relaxing to just focus on applying them just right. Also I have been wanting to do some panel lining on my planes. Can someone recommend a thread for that please or any advice for materials and pens to use?
  21. I hope so cause I would love a 1/48 pre-built and non- transforming YF-19. It would have to be line art accurate of course.
  22. This is off topic but I always wanted some company to make pre-built Macross planes in fighter mode in 1/48 scale. This meaning that they will be non-transformable anime lineart accurate and detailed like crazy and even have working lights on the wing tips. Yeah...that would be nice.
  23. I think Macross Frontier has the slurmtiest and gayest character in the entire Macross universe.
  24. I got it many years ago. It's from the Doyusha 1:144 diecast series.
