I like Macross for it's cool plane designs. I am not a model builder and so I buy the toys. I don't really care much for the battroid or gerwalk mode.

The intakes don't click. Everytime I push up the intake the nose droops and the gap appears on the top shield and when I push the nose up the intake gap appears. It's like a tug-of-war with this thing. I always display my valks in plane mode and this intake gap is really making me hate this thing.

Yup. I put the parts on my old VF-25 instead of the new one that came with the giftset. Everything seems to fit just nicely except for the stupid stand.

I glad haven't transformed any of my Yamato valks and probably never will. I just Can't stand the thought of breaking something on those expensive things.

This is the same problem I have with mine. Could you post some pics of the fixed intake and chest piece and/or post a "fix it yourself" guide with pics? Meanwhile, I am gonna go cancel my 0S order which is still waiting payment. No point in having 2 0S's with the same issues. Oh, and excellent review by the way.

I see. Well in that case, can you tell me where to get those plastic tripod stands that everyone uses?

Recently I got a tornado and I frigging love it. I mean it looks like a ship from a shooter game or something. Anyways, I am having a little bit of trouble with the stand. Basically, everytime I put the plane on the stand it falls to the rear. It turns out that the peg that inserts under the fuselage has no friction to hold it into place. I tried putting small piece of tape on the peg but they just come of after a while. Is there any secure way to fix this problem>?

My god!!! It's looks so sharp in plane mode! Unfortunately, I got a VF-0S instead of this from the HLJ sale. What was I thinking?????

The seller that I got my 0S from on ebay told me after I filed a claim on him that the reason why I got a shitpiece was because Yamato used the old molds from the first version to make the reissues. I am pretty sure a few months form now they will re release the 0S fixed and in a new box and that's the reason as to why they were on clearance I think.

Here are the gaps that I was talking about on my YF-19 DN. Is there any way to fix em? I really hate this "bulk chin" under the fuselage. This is why it's a flawed design.

I got got my DN yesterday and it's nice and tight but the only annoying problem I saw were the gaps around the intake area which connect to the fuselage. Other than that, it's solid. Oh, and to keep it nice and tight I am never gonna transform it. And I totally agree that it's a flawed design.

This is why you don't transform Yamato valks. You're suppose to love Macross for it's cool plane designs, not the robot modes.

I've ordered another 0S from that HLJ after finding out my last 0S was a shitpiece. Hope this one is nice, tight and free from defects.

This is/was there 2nd restock cause I do remember them being sold out before. And I have also placed an order for a 0S and I hope this time it's not a shitpiece.

I checked up on my HLJ on Saturday and my order status said shipped yet no e-mail was sent. I hope I find a surprise by my doorstep today.

If the Valkyries were all around $50 than I would agree with you BUT a toyline in which items cost between $150-250++ has gone way beyond a "toy" and has become a luxury. For that price there should be no gaps here or there and the damn thing should come together nice and tight in every way. Also not everyone has the time and skills to meticulously build and detail a model kit and so that's why we have these toys to begin with.

Well I already got a shitpiece flawed VF-0S "reissue" already and so I don't feel that "warm" towards Yamato rite now. And as for the Vf-0D, I think the only way we are going to see a VF-0D or a lightning or a VF-2SS is if one of the member here wins the lottery and decides to open up his own company. He can than hire us(those with autocad/solidworks etc skills) and then we can design and build valks with top-notch quality for the fans. Yes they may cost a bit more but they will be perfect!

After receiving a crappy VF-0S "reissue" with QC problems and being pissed off, I went a bit mad and used my credit card and went on an ordering frenzy. No I didn't tell the wife but she will find out soon enough. I actually got home at the time as the mailman for the Vf-0 but it will be hard to do this for all 3 packages. Hope she doesn't kill be or worse...but I need Macross to live! Anyways, here is my order: 1) 1/48 VF-1S hikaru from angolz.com shipping by HKM Hong Kong mail or whatever 2) 1/60 YF-19 double nuts from Ebay. was a "but it now" same HKM 3) DX VF-25F Tornado from HLJ. (I got the last one) Fed-EX I have ordered from HLJ before and they are good. I ordered a 1/60 VF-1J super pack by FED-EX and loved their packaging and speedyness. As for angloz and Ebay I don't know what to expect. If I'm still alive in the upcoming week I'll tell y'all how it turned out.

Never knew that but now I know. And knowing is half the well you know.
