I'm just surprised that they shown a fully classic TNG vessel... no changes, no 25% different BS... how did they wiggle this?

    Salty doesn't even cut it close how I feel right now... The Unseen, as purists call the original 20C imagines provided the initial imagery used. All the rest of the designs created in the long ago TRO-3025 maybe have been created using those poses from the Unseen but they have grown to be designs unique and all their own. Not to mention the back story of Battletech (from the Age of War, The Succession Wars, Operation: Revial, The Jihad/Wars of Reaving and the current ongoing Dark Age). How about characters like Kenyon Marik, Ulric Kerensky or Horse? That's nothing like what Robotech brought to the table, sir. Back the F away from Battletech in the future, SIR.

    In light of how TPTB favor the DYRL narrative to Macross's overall storyline, doesn't that make that sequence from the TV invalid (since it implies that the F-15 Eagle inspired the VF program) with Zero's introduction of the VF-0, clearly inspired by the F-14 Tomcat?

    Although it has been some time since the end of the FASA era of published books, there are new books out in some forms. Your mileage will vary but I've come to enjoy some forms of fan fiction (specifically Alternation Historical Universes or AU) that asks 'What If?'.     Not a fan of the music choice... but I was intrigued. I've never seen the movies in their entirety but I've seen clips. I did not know this part: the massed engagement against (the or A) Vajra queen nest... that was inside the remains of a DYRL-style Gol Boddole Zer-class MF (another, clear slap towards SLDF:M and HG that continues to taint it's legacy) . What was the sequence of events for this?
