  1. 1/48 Glaug. Come on, Yamato... do it!
  2. Great tip, haterist! I'll have to try this! Thanks!
  3. Check out the 1/48+FP's, 1/60, and 1/72 picture gallery thread. Yeah, it's 54 pages long, but vlenhoff has some good shots at the bottom of page two so you don't have to search very long. There are others scattered throughout as well, but I'll leave it up to you to find 'em.
  4. Alright, I picked this up the other day and finally got around to watching it. Here are some of my impressions. It took about one and a half episodes for me to get comfortable with the whole "muh-cross" pronounciation thing, and the way everyone except Mari pronounces Hikaru as "hi-kar-oo" still tends to grate (I pronounce it "hik-a-roo", regardless of whether that's correct or not), but I can live with it. The majority of the English voice actors are pretty good, which is to say a vast improvement over the people who voiced Robotech. Thankfully they've kept Minmay's songs in their original Japanese instead of having Mari sing them in English. I actually had fears that HG would resurrect those dreadful Robotech songs and have Mari sing those instead. "Stage-fright, go away! This is my big day!" Shut up! Shut up! Shut the f**k up! Okay, sorry about that. Now all of us will have that damned song in our heads for days. Moving on, I am also pleased with the translation. While it's not exactly the same as on the Animeigo set, it's pretty close. The writers have obviously taken a few liberties with the script to help "Americanize" it (like when Roy calls Hikaru a "pud-knocker; very Beavis and Butthead), but that doesn't bother me. Anyway, overall I'm pleased with this release. It's nice to have a decent English-voice version of Macross. In addition, I also like having another set in case something unfortunate happens to my Animeigo discs. My biggest complaint is that the discs are being released individually rather that as one complete set. While it is easier to throw down $20 each when they come out, I would rather spend more and get all of them now. But this is something that will not change no matter how much I want it to happen, so for now I'll just sit back and be happy with what I've got. But believe me, I'm eagerly awaiting the future volumes.
  5. I'm interested. They may be a little large, but they sure look cool.
  6. Is it even Japanese? With how Matt and Trey think, it's probably not even a real language. Just nonsense surrounding the key phrase of "protect my balls". That's good advice though. Now everytime someone attacks me with a katana, the first thing I think of is, "Are my genitals secure?" LOL!
  7. wasabi-elephant's post got me to thinkin' (scary, huh?)... Here's what Yamato should do to further drain our wallets: Use blue paint, instead of yellow or red, in the Roy or Hikaru 1S production process. Easy DYRL Max 1S. Use green paint, instead of red or blue, in the Hikaru or Max 1A production process and change the number to 012. Easy DYRL Kakazaki 1A. There. Two quick and simple examples of just how easily Yamato could expand their model line and make some fast cash. Very little retooling required. No fuss, no muss, no problem. Will it happen? Probably not. That being said... Datterboy, it would not surprise me to see a Max 1A reissue. Or any of the existing versions for that matter. I just don't expect them to do something new.
  8. Sweet! It does come with the pre-painted joints on the hands!
  9. What is this BP-8 joint? Anyone got a pic of it? I just got my VF-1J Hikaru with fastpacks and I don't want to break it! 353437[/snapback] Neova's posted a good pic here.
  10. Here's some clearer pics, with respect to Graham and Wicked Ace. Original style headrest Later, scooped-out style headrest Hope they help.
  11. Maybe to compete with Brokeback Mountain, Tubbs and Crocket will be lovers so it literally is gay? No, that wouldn't work. They already tried to make it easy on Colon Farrell and cast him as a homosexual in "Alexander" and that movie bombed. The most natural thing to him and he blew it (pun intended). And that was directed by Oliver Stone, who is normally able to get a good performance from his actors. Hell, even Kevin Costner was good in "JFK". How bad a slam is that to Colon Farrell!? "You're no Kevin Costner!" LOL!
  12. What would you have them do, dress everyone in pastels (hold the socks) and blast Phil Collins (as if he's any better than Jay Z)? Yes, that is exactly what Mann should have done. Same era, same clothes, same music, same damn everything. I'd rather it be an homage to the original '80s series than some Hollywood-cookie-cutter-buddy-movie-uber-gay crap. If the casting gives us any clues as to what the finished product will be like, don't expect much. I don't understand why the hell anyone still hires Colon Farrell (yes, that's how I spell it). The guy is a complete and utter douche-bag and his best acting is when he pretends to not be an a-hole. Jamie Foxx is at least likeable, but if he starts acting stupid, it won't be Tubbs. I really wish that Don Johnson and/or Philip Michael Thomas would have just f**king snapped when they heard about this film and stormed the set in a horrifically fantastic killing spree. That woulda been sweet.
  13. Aw, dammit! I knew I should have sold off my spares when they were going for $300+ a piece!
  14. You're welcome, DatterBoy. Glad I could help. Looks awesome!
  15. You left in the middle of the season-ending cliff-hanger? Wow, that's harsh! LOL! Personally, the whole "Exodus/Enemies" two-parter is one (or two, depending on your point of view) of my favorites from the entire series. Anyway... I will admit that the early seasons are the best; everything was still new and fresh. Although it was nice for the Sci-Fi Channel to pick it up after Showtime passed on season six, the cheese factor has gone up. But I like cheese... and so must other people; it still draws a huge audience, even in reruns. Plus, it's success has also helped lead to the strong ratings for "Atlantis" and "BSG". It's been renewed for a record tenth season (gotta beat "The X-Files", can't just be tied), so you've got to give them credit for that.
  16. I laughed my ass off when I saw that comic in the paper! The guys at work thought I had lost my mind!
  17. Pretty cool. Now where's the 1/6 scale valk?
  18. I added the link to it when ruskiiVFaussie asked that same question on the first page.
  19. It's here in the models section.
  20. Seeing Devon Aoki reminds me of that episode of "American Dad" where Steve and Roger the alien go on a double-date and Roger gets stuck with the mutt. "But Steve... she's so ugly. Sooooooo ugly."
  21. Looks good, but what are the chances we'll get these pre-painted hands? I expect they'll be just plain white (or white-ish, if you will). Regardless, someone here has to recast these badboys.
  22. We need some 1/48 enemy mecha! Since we've got 1/60 Q-Raus, I suggest 1/48 Glaugs and Regulds! If you think the boxes for 1/48 valks are big, just imagine how freaking huge these would be! Postage would cost as much as the toys, but dammit they would be sweet!
  23. Looks damn good (as usual)! You know I'll be down for some of these!
  24. Anasazi37 makes both waterslide decals and stickers. He's a good guy and his products are top-notch. Shoot him a PM; I expect he'll hook you up.
