Haha. Nice! Magenta..? Acknowledging the Gundam (ish) look but still very much obviously Macross. Ya , perhaps a light gray would have looked better than pure white. Still, this invites a custom color scheme. Low viz anyone? Fighter mode looks killer to me. But yes, it looks heavy. Of course we won’t really know how unwieldy until people start reviewing it. The price is what it is, these toys are only going to be more expensive, me thinks. The engineering does seem to be getting much better.. I will also enjoy the 1/72 Bandai 3 mode version with this armor type( I hope they do it !) as well. Custom, custom! It’s not for everyone ( don’t care for Hayate’s VF, myself) and there’s obviously plenty of other cool things coming out this year!

How’s progress on this project going?

I just built the Hasegawa 1/72 super strike VF-1S battroid with my son. It doesn’t really need a lot of glue, maybe 2 spots. Although, since we built it for him, I glued up several more spots for the sake of durability. There are some really tiny bits to add, smaller than most Gundam hg snap models, but the model isn’t that difficult to build.

Ditto! ya , does look gundam-ish at certain angles . I see all the weight in the shoulders , back and legs. Gonna be a bear to pose, me thinks. As per my usual pose preference,would love to see fighter mode.

Looks great amigo. Love some of those details! So this is 1/60 and the parts from shapeways will work on either Arcadia or Yamato , yes? I do believe I’ve sold all my 1/60 VF-1 toy vaks, but wondering about THIS as a candidate..

Considering how many kits could benefit from these, I’m surprised more of these haven’t been made.. Bandai’s 1/72 -3 mode variable kits are having all the fun..!
