    For me it was Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus and Season 3 that killed the show for me. haha. All the goofy futuristic designs and reptile aliens. Everybody has things they don't like about past franchises I guess. It's not so much about nostalgia as completionist nostalgia. Nobody was really a collector as a kid, they were just playing with their toys. Plus, I think it's a great design if you're a macross fan. It has that gundam by way of Mospeada design. Not to mention the gimmicks are so spot on.

    I like it because it's what make toy collecting history so interesting. All the variations in one release or another. And really.. it's just a bio.

    Rise of Cobra wasn't terrible. Either way, if it happens it will mean more macross toys.

    Apparently Starsaberrrrruuu's Bio in English is going to be based on the IDW comic and not the Japanese cartoon. I dig it for the diversity factor.

    I was going to get one until I realized how small the individual bots are. Kinda turned me off to it for that price. All together they are about the size of an MP. The scale is just too odd for my collection, as much as I wanted one. Makes you wonder how big a legit Takara MP combiner will be. I passed on their Metroplex too because I realized I didn't really need it, as I wouldn't ever transform and display it as a city or ship. I figured it would have some QA issues out of the box too. Too expensive for the lack of utility I'd get out of it. I'm glad MT is moving forward with more MP sized stuff. Keen to see what they come up with.

    There was this really cool deconstruction of the FF from Planetary by Warren Ellis.... Doing a quick google search for frames from the comic it looks like somebody else had the same idea to draw connections to that story: http://www.inquisitr.com/1530625/the-four-could-this-twisted-vision-be-the-inspiration-for-foxs-new-fantastic-four-movie/ Big fan of all the planetary stories. Basically the Four were Nazi's brought over to America. They were a covert mission to mars years before the "real" mission in the 50's. They were the bad guys of the story, and uber powerful. which was pretty cool. It was super gritty and quite different from what you'd get from the average comic book.

    I liked 3, for what it was. They really shook up the story. Though it seems like they were more interested in satisfying fans of gay slash fic than making it coherent. Such is evangelion haha.
