  1. I'm glad to see some new pics. I'm looking forward to this one.
  2. This is great news. Not sure I believe it, but I want to.
  3. What's hilarious is that your definition of "dysfunctional internet fanboy" perfectly describes your repeated and loud complaints about our well-founded criticisms. And yes, I will keep laughing.
  4. Yes! We're halfway there. Everybody lets the excited, happy fans talk in peace. But if you want to commisserate, people subtley mock you or ask you to shut up. It's just weird.
  5. Nah, you guys are just being overly apologetic. Instead of asking us to not criticize, you could explain how we are wrong. But that would sound something like "For all we know that missile in the landing gear bay is...uh...just a mistransformation." So instead you want us to give this ugly, inaccurate toy a free pass? Why? Why is it "overcritical" to point out glaring, obvious flaws? Here's an idea. Instead of sticking up for CM, who want to gouge it's customers at the tune of $200+ for a toy it can't even be bothered to get right, why don't you sympathize with your fellow fans instead?
  6. We need a comparison shot of the bike modes.
  7. Oy, I'm afraid of what that means.
  8. Well, let me try to explain. My issue with Isamu is he seems like a jackass and a cocky jerk. Not someone you want in a test plane. He doesn't seem to care about anyone else's feelings. To me, Gulds jealousy and hatred of Isamu makes him seem petty, and the whole rape mystery makes him...well, a possible rapist. Myung seemed like a weak, needy, drama queen with too much emotional baggage. For minor characters there's blonde bimbo who liked Isamu, and the nerdy scientist. That's how I see them. It's all a matter of opinion, but mine is an unpopular one you rarely hear, so I'm happy to share it with y'all. I found Hikaru and Misa to be extremely likeable. Especially Misa (yowza!). EDIT: Oh yeah. I haven't seen M+ in while, but I got the (crappy) Manga DVD just recently. Maybe I'll watch it this weekend and see if my feelings have changed.
  9. I'm going to have to agree that much of the plot of Macross Plus is, as Greyryder aptly put it, retarded. Take away the sweet mecha action and somewhat interesting concert, and you're left with annoying and unlikeable characters, an amateurish reliance on flashbacks, and a bizarre yet contrived rape subplot. Oh, and don't forget the ugly character designs. Macross II may not be masterpiece theatre, but it's not a whole lot worse than Macross Plus in my book.
  10. I could understand someone asking to take down the pictures if there was an artbook coming out, but I really doubt that. More likely it's some sad, deluded individual hoping they'll get rich selling the originals to Harmony Gold.
  11. Like I said before: stingy bastards.
  12. Yeah, I want to see them too. PM me if you can share!
  13. I don't want anything bigger than 1/72. We have enough huge valkyrie toys. I want something small enough to fit in my hand and swoosh around the room. And something cheap enough so I can buy fleets of 'em. Also, I don't think enemy mechas are worth making at larger scales.
  14. Yeah, I'm hoping for more than just Macross Frontier toys from Bandai. Let's see some SoC grade 1/100 VF-1's, VF-4's, enemy mecha, the works. Yeah, they should totally do that, even if the toy line loses them millions of dollars, just for my personal joy and satisfaction. Totally.
  15. Damn, what's with all these stingy bastards ending up with Mospeada lineart?
  16. Totoro, if you can find two, you can sell the other to me at a mark-up. Or does anyone know of an online store that sells Hobby Japan back-issues?
  17. Oh crap...they're making all of them? That's $280 I need to put away. Because damn those look cool.
  18. I like the Condor and Super Condor designs as destroids. I seriously doubt that they transform, even if they have little wings and intakes. I think the Legioss looks like the Condor because the Legioss' armo soldier mode was based on the Condor. To clarify, I think Aramaki/Kakinuma designed the Condor specifically as the Legioss' prototype in the Mospeada world.
  19. You know, I can't take it anymore. Screw SoC for not doing Macross and Mospeada toys. All these other properties getting beautiful well-made toys. *Sniff* It's just not fair.
  20. Whoa! I'm not usually into figures like this, but these are beautiful and look super poseable. The faces on that Haruhi figure are amazingly anime accurate. So who's the knight chick?
  21. I agree that the bike should at least try to match the finish of the hardsuit. It definitely needs a shinier finish.
  22. Ah crap, somebody get Toynami the hell away from the beautiful Beagle. The Beagle is supposed to be my spiritual salvation. Don't laugh, you've all seen the pictures. The thing is gorgeous. The Harmony Gold taint is strong, any association can bring ruin. Twoducks: Skip Rey. I love Mospeada, I love Rey, and I love the ride armors. But the CM Rey simply doesn't work in bike mode.
  23. It was perfect in the sense that it didn't have parts breaking or falling off, everything lined up and snapped together tightly as intended, it's wheels could spin, it had tight joints, and it could hold the beam cannon. It was sturdy and it worked. Plus I paid only $30 for it new. And I had no problem getting Stig to ride ithe bike, although his fat legs did make it kind of goofy.
  24. I think you're both right. I like the CM because it had the potential to be great. The Stig looks great in both modes, and nothing in the design is inherently wrong, but the windscreen breaking, the looseness of some parts, the non-spinning wheels, and the fact that I had to cut off piece of one forearm peg to make it work is pretty ridiculous for a tiny $60 toy. It's 2008 for god's sake, and toys in Japan are WORSE than they were 20 years ago? Look at the Gakken bike, that f*cker was perfect. I think it looks great, and the plastic doesn't feel or look cheap to me. The problems are bad glue and the fact that they made the design 90% perfect and then gave up on the wheels and forearm guards area. I opened my Ley CM the other night. Oh my god. The forearm are doesn't work AT ALL in bike mode. It's a f*cking joke. Like I said, they gave up too soon.
  25. I just want to say something. Don't get your hopes up regarding the Megahouse. I believe, in all likelihood, the CM will end up being the superior toy, with the exception of the breaking windscreen. And CM might do a second release with fixed windscreens, or even replace broken windscreens. Overall it's a beautiful toy with correctable flaws. The Megahouse, on the other hand, is not PT, has really ugly proportions, and is coming from a company not known for great toys. All in all, I prefer my CM, with it's windscreen held on by sticky-tack, to the Megahouse, purely on looks. And I don't predict a better build quality for the Megahouse. But if you already like the looks of the Megahouse, by all means, go for it. I'm just saying, it might have problems too. And if they both have problems, I'll take the pretty one, which is the CM in my opinion.
