I got a paypal shipping label notification, which doesn't necessarily mean mine is in the mail yet, but it hopefully will be soon! Man, I've never been so happy with how a toy looked. The new VF-1 is absolutely gorgeous. With the spectacular YF-21 and Macross Zero valks, Yamato is really hitting their stride with Macross toys. I wish they'd redo the YF-19 now, since no doubt the could make it sleeker and with less gaps. For some reason I'm afraid they'll screw up the VF-1D. As long as it has a longer canopy, I'll be happy. Anyway, enough rambling from me.

Me too. I'm actually kind of disappointed by this. Oh well, at least their design team can concentrate fully on the 1D now, then worry about the GBP armor later. I don't want any rushed designs.

I'm going to go nuts on the 1/60 and buy every release. I don't have any 1/48's, so resentment is not an issue for me. And I don't really collect anything else. After these and the Beagle ride armor, I just need someone to make a decent Legioss and Tread, and then I can stop buying toys.

5 broken out of 32. I'd say that's very bad. 15% breakage rate out of the box? Yikes.

So how do you guys feel about new heads for 1/55's? Blasphemy or progress? I don't mind the 1D head since there never was one originally. But if these are all about nostalgia, new heads to replace the original just doesn't feel right to me.

I meant about the seats. They'd be crazy not to include a Minmay fig.

Not sure if those pics are new, but the shoulders don't stick too far out in that pic. Nice. The legs are still attached too high on the codpiece.

I love them, and now I think the 1/48 legs are fugly.

I remain optimistic. If there are QC problems, I'm sure Yamato will offer replacement pieces (in Japan at least), and the version 2 release will be fixed. I'm willing to be an early adopter, even if it means my toy is less than perfect. Why? Because this toy is so freaking beautiful. Perfect proportions and in a smaller scale that I prefer. But damn, Yamato really has problems with shoulders.

Dude, at this point, I'll be happy if the new 1D has a longer canopy than the other new VF-1's. If they can make that happen, I could care less about gimmicks. EDIT: Though I assume you're joking anyway.

Whoa, news of QC problems is not what I wanted to hear. I'm totally happy with the design and proportions of the toy from what I see in pictures. I just hope it's not a floppy, crumbling mess in reality. At least we know Yamato fixes these problems for later releases. But if my 1/60 shows up missing a head, I'll probably throw it against a wall. I've been waiting so long for this -- it better be perfect!
