  1. Amazing that the VF-1 is in second place. I chose the VF-4, though the VF-1 is my second pick.
  2. Revoldouche is cool, but I really like that white VF-19 custom! Can we get some pics of that thing?
  3. That's what it says on the sign. But let's not confuse the universe. Let's all focus on my list...and chant.
  4. You know...I have to think that the universe is trying to give me exactly what I want, but it has some trouble getting the specifications right. So, let me make it clear. PERFECT TRANSFORMATION. NO PARTS SWAPPING FOR TRANSFORMATION! PERFECT TRANSFORMATION. NO PARTS SWAPPING FOR TRANSFORMATION! PERFECT TRANSFORMATION. NO PARTS SWAPPING FOR TRANSFORMATION! Chant it with me! And here is a partial list of which toys I want. I'll want more later, but do these first: VF-1J Hikaru with GBP armor VF-1D with elongated canopy VF-1A Cannon Fodder with fast packs Elint Seeker & Super Ostrich with correct canopies VF-4 VF-11 with fast packs VF-2SS with SAP VF-2J Icarus Regult (with swappable weapons) Recon Regult Glaug Q Rau N Ger Destroids Thanks, universe!
  5. I got a scratch there too. Right in the middle of the tail fin. The toy is so damn tight, that you end up squeezing it very hard when transforming, and the tail gets forcefully pressed against the back. I'd suggest to everyone to unfold the backpack before transforming anything else or even tring to put on or take off the leg fast packs. I used a Gundam marker to fill in the scratch, though I don't know how well it will last.
  6. Damn dude, that looks really good. Not sure why Yamato couldn't do that in the first place.
  7. Yeah, I believe Shinji Aramaki did the Ride Armor, the Motoslave, and the Garland...dunno about the Tri-charger though... Edit: according to wikipedia and ANN, Ammonite (Hiroshi Ogawa, Hirotoshi Okura & Takashi Ono) did the designs for Zillion and Southern Cross.
  8. It's funny how we all thought a CAD-designed valk would mean a PT toy. Instead it means a valk with a transformation way too complex for a PT toy!
  9. You realize you are agreeing with me right?
  10. Seriously? I didn't know that. All the more reason to demand PT valks, if they already had it working! And they don't even need separate hinges on the fins; they could be built-in like the Yamato tail fins.
  11. Exo continues to be the rockin'est mod ever. Seriously, reserve judgment why? We have a f*cking picture. Or is this some item that magically shape-shifts whenever a camera is pointed at it? Also, Shoji can approve whatever he wants. It doesn't mean it's perfect.
  12. I still think the parts-swapping is a cop out. Hopefully they only make the VF-25 this way, and after lukewarm sales and fan bitching, the rest are made PT. So are the VF-25 tail fins just supposed to fold down? That's the simplest thing to do, and it's not like you need an ugly hinge -- they could do it just like the Yamato VF-1 tail fin. Or is there some other problem?
  13. Well. Damn. This is my dream line as long as the valks are quality and as close to PT as possible. I love the 1/100 scale; it's the perfect size for collecting, buying multiples, and displaying. I KNOW Bandai can f*cking manage perfect transformation at 1/100 scale, and they better for $50 a pop. The question is will they puss out or not. I guess the question for us is how much non-PT we can deal with after being spoiled by Yamato. Clip-on heat shields? Removeable landing gear? Hands? That's about as far as I'm willing to go, but I'd rather they make these like the Joke Machines: PT with some compromises like non-detailed landing gear and a flip-over canopy with the heat shield on the other side. I think they can manage retractable hands though. It's not like we need poseable fingers on a 1/100. But holy hell is this awesome, exciting news.
  14. All that means is he needs the money.
  15. Here's what I'm going off of (from Macross Mecha Manual): So...what do you think? It really looks to me like the canopy is slightly, slightly extended in the front but not in the back. Maybe there is some other line art that shows differently? Edit: added picture of VF-1D at bottom.
  16. It's true that the VF-1 uses anime magic to shorten the nosecone in battroid, and that's true for all the VF-1's, including the 1D. The 1D's nose isn't any longer than the others', though, unless you count the back of the fuselage, which is a bit longer. But that's why the chest of the 1D doesn't have a "collar". So the longer canopy and fuselage won't make the nosecone hang down any further in battroid--it just sets higher.
  17. I would absolutely love a line of quality 1/100 Macross toys, with perfect-transformation valks and regults and destroids. That said, I have no interest in a line of parts-formers.
  18. Dude, there's nothing cryptic about it. The 1D's cockpit is undeniably longer in the lineart. If you still like the toy, that's great. But let's not pretend it's all just some mystery. The 1D toy canopy is wrong.
  19. Those don't have long canopies, so they'll be okay. If you look really closely, the VT and VE canopies are just slightly longer and extend forward just a bit (up to the black circle around the nose).
  20. Hey guys, I got an extra Minmay Guard to trade. I most want an Ostrich, if anyone has a spare.
  21. I dunno, Graham ignored one of my questions once and I assumed the worst. Turned out he was just ignoring me! *giggles* Yeah! I love those little guys!
  22. The Hasegawa canopy is too long, but clearly the 1D does have a longer canopy than all the other VF-1's. It's in all the line art, though how much longer can vary because line art isn't CAD. Yamato's new 1D canopy isn't an "interpretation" so much as a failure. What Renato said was completely correct: Since Yamato said the new 1/60 was designed with two-seaters in mind, I expected an accurate 1D. It turns out the new 1/60 was designed in such a way to make an accurate 1D impossible! I think maybe you've just dismissed an entire argument without understanding it at all. Can you reiterate what you mean?
  23. I too wish there was a crotch guard. A simple green rubber strip would be a good enough fix for me; maybe I'll add one myself somehow. But the Beagle is too great-looking to pass up because of one imperfection.
  24. I think the cream color should be a bit darker. Anyone else? I'm still disappointed about the canopy being the same length as the regular VF-1. It makes the VF-1D a lot less special.
  25. "Thanks for the info Graham"? More like "Oh, you evil sith bastard, you." I assume he's fiddled with a prototype already. I'm jealous. Anyway, I have a feeling this thing will be beautiful. Graham, how about the vertical stabs? Are the nice and big?
