So the Skull & Crossbones are still not painted on? That is so sad.

Having a closer look a Legends Galvatron I wonder if I can use the flip out landing sled on the gun to attach it to one of the fins on Galvatrons forearms. If I use enough floor polish it might have enough friction to stay attached at least for a static display.- 17164 replies

So my Legends Galvatron showed up today and it is beyond me how anyone could think that this is a better Galvatron than the Universe one. I really hope that a 3rd party company comes up with a new Titanmaster than has the crown included and a arm adapter (or even a new arm cannon that is a bit more proportional) so that his cannon sits in the right spot. I know there are shapeways solutions but I would prefer an add-on set. As a side note I'm really disappointed that there are no more upgrade sets. I would love to have a new backpack piece for MP tracks that makes the back more solid and have the cowl look more like Tracks. On another side note the glue that Takara uses for the glue strips on their packaging is easily the worst any toy company I have experience with uses. It is super sticke so it leaves a bunch of glue residue back on the packaging and those are hard to remove. Look at the MMC tape which removes beautifully.- 17164 replies

What I really dislike about the VF-1 toys from Yancadia are the legs. They just feel a bit too flimsy for my preferences.

I really hope that Mech Ideas combiner will be the same size than the MT/FP combiners. I prefer them over the Warbotron scale. Speaking of FP TFSource has their Dinoking at a significant discount. This probably means that I won't get a Monstructor out of it. I wonder if I should get Dinoking instead. Thank you for your extensive review Mike.- 9276 replies

No sarcasm at all. What makes him superior of the new TR Galvatron is the fact that his gun is on the wrong side of the arm and the head sculpt looks like Galvatron.- 17164 replies

My crazy conspiracy theory involves a lot of alcohol, a bet and the phrase: "you will never get them to buy another Slag figure". I guess the idea is that they feel that their Scoria is their weakest toy (nope it's Tesla) and that they want to put something out there that fits better with the whole aesthetic of the line now that they doing all five of the Dinobots. I guess enough people complained about the potato that the figured it might get enough attention to sell enough copies. Regarding the price I think the designer of Kronos mentioned that the profit margin on these toys is huge and that they are much more expensive than they could be. There is also the rumor that an ominous middle man in China controls the distribution of these toys for most of the companies out there. The rumor has it that this middle man takes a cut on every toy that goes through his distribution network (IIRC someone say around $30 on the larger figures). If this is true maybe FansToys found a way around this middle man or they are willing to reduce the profit margins because they want to stay competitive with GigaPower who also lowered the MSRP for their Dinobots to $135 from $200. Here is a link to TFW with a recap of all the gossip about the 3rd party market: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-3rd-party-discussion/1074702-plastic-empire-podcast-interview-chris-sterett-dr-wu-2.html#post13759837 BTW: I hope you get the googly eyes with Stomp, they are the best accessory ever.- 9276 replies

I love that Universe Galvatron toy. Such a neat design. Of course it has its issues being downsized from a bigger size class but he impressed me more than any other retail Transformers on the shelfs right now.- 17164 replies

I'm sad that we haven't heard any news from Maketoys regarding their Buster/Hydra Darkwing/Dreadwind (I prefer the western paint scheme) homages. I also have to say that Guardia is growing on me. He looks just stunning in many poses. Katana is definitely the worst of the team (1. Axel 2. Vulcan 3. Rover 4. Hi-Med) and the joints in my arms are week (Katanas ratchet for shoulder rotation and Hi-Meds elbow) so I guess I will have to find a way to tighten all the joints down the line (the stupid ankle joint design is somewhat ruining the experience for me). I also think that Maketoys could have at least added some pegs for the guns in combined mode with all the slots and tabs all over the bot and the weapons but none of them fit well.- 9276 replies

More 3rd Party news from TFNations: http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/08/20/tfnation-2016-3rd-party-panel-roundup-321920 http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/08/20/tfnation-2016-3rd-party-roundup-321803 I love the look of the Unrustable Bastards, even if I'm not a fan of motorbike transforming robots: As for the other news I can't wait to get Carnifex in hands he looks superb. I probably won't get MMCs Oberon (their Obsidian homage) since the cogwheels are just too off-putting. I will go with their Turbin (Whirl) which is a shame since I will definitively get Titanika.- 9276 replies

It was a stupid design decision on Bumblebee too. Would they have designed the forearms a bit differently there would be enough room to encompass a MP Starscream hand transformation which would've looked much better.- 9276 replies

I guess it would be nice if the HLJ policy would be that after 60 days it will automatically ship at the end of the month. I had to ship an order now and till the end of the month there will be two small items that will enter the warehouse with the next item being the VF-31J in December. I guess I have to order something in between.

So I received my replacement parts for Backdraft from PSX today. I'm sad to say that most of them are in worser shape than the parts on the toy. Oh well, at least the one arm is in ok shape that will replace the one on my figure with the hole in the shoulder. MMC really needs to step up their game for the next figures especially when it comes to paint, gate marks and mold quality. Backdraft is lacking in all these departments. I think it is mostly the fault of the factory. Either that or MMC is trying to reduce the unit costs per toy. Speaking of factories. GogDog reported over at TFW that the factory where FansProject produced most of their toys (and MMC used to produce Cynicus) was shot down thus all the delays for the FansProject toys. Maybe this also had an influence on the sub par quality of Backdraft. The question would be if this is better or worse than a Death Star, Tie Fighter or Venator Star Destroyer.

I like: Now make me one in black and teal. I'm a bit disappointed that the torso only has an ab crunch and no left to right movement. Personally I think MakeToys does much better with the stylized designs compared to their Re:Master line. I'm not impressed with their Headmasters and Megatron, while initially stunning, seems to have also some problems.- 9276 replies
