  1. Well if you think about it. If NY really buys up stock from Japanese retailers that don't export then they are basically scalpers as I would define it (buy huge chunks of items from the regular distribution places and sell them with a markup). They buy up stock to sell it with a markup. And the decrease the number of items that is available for the regular consumer base. The question is: Do the Japanese Macross fans suffer because of this? I.e. does the indented consumer base as it's defined by Bandai can't get the items they want because NY buys all the stuff.
  2. Yes, when I have my VF-171CF in my hands I have no further worries about my RVF-25 order. The whole buzz about NY really started with this Valkyrie if I remember so when they can successfully manage this order I'm fine. Plus without numbers it's hard to tell if the run into a problem. But the don't seem to rely only on the items from Bandai directly so we don't have the same situation with the VF-171EX where several importers had to cancel their entire pre-orders. Not overly worried though because they seem to know what they do. But it's to early to praise them for being the last hope for us Gaijin.
  3. Does anyone know how NY works internally? I just imagine that a bunch of Japanese are calling up their Valkyrie harvesters with smoking telephones to assure the can secure the number of items they list as their pre-order batch. And in my mind I see a 60s business room with rows of Japanese businessmen all suited up sitting on their desktops while calling and smoking and smoking and calling being 100% professional. I think I need professional help now. This kind of hallucination must be dangerous.
  4. Hey jmx222 we all know that Luca fans are out there. I'm sure you don't need to stigmatize yourself on the Internet with this avatar. Man how does anime52k8 get away with this all the time. I need to put the same items in my interest field.
  5. I think that depends on the wording in the license contract. We all suffer from what happened with HG back in the 80s. Maybe Bandai has full control over the license concerning transforming Valkyrie toys. You can write some crazy stuff into contracts even legally.
  6. Hehehe, I'm with you master. Just got up and saw that I missed it again. Still it's getting rather expensive now. Managed to pre-order a VF-171CF for $170 with shipping. Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean. *seesaw* At least the weather is nice...
  7. Yes, the alarm is set. It will be a short night no doubt. And I envy you all that you have such shops near you all I have is a toy shop that is 30 miles away and only carries RiD Bumblebees.
  8. Lupin please relax. I don't know how to make it more clear that that statement was not fully serious and I thought I made it clear by setting the "a$$hat" into quotation marks and adding a smiley at the and of the sentence. I know it is a stupid situation because you can not even vote with your wallets (and that is the only thing companies react to). But the berserk-pre-ordering behavior is not helping because it creates a vicious circle. I picked your statement up because it was a hyperbole of that situation. As I said previously no offence intended! And I meant it! I'm really sorry if I poked at a soft spot their. But talking crap about Hobbyfan is not helping because the retailers are the last one to blame about because they can only sell what Bandai gives to them. They are in a similar worse situation than we are because the can't serve their customers. And I would rather ordered from HLJ than any other proxy seller because their service is great. Again I'm sorry if I offended you
  9. Well that is what I actually meant. If you plan to fulfill all your pre-orders than order what you can. I only pre-ordered one VF-171CF because I only want one. Hope I'm not being burnt bay NY.
  10. I think he means the backpack that slides together to close the gaps in the back of the toy.
  11. Not to criticize you Lupin but I feel that you're kind of an "a$$hat" yourself. No offense though. I think a part of the pre-order madness (not exclusively) is that people just file in as many pre-order slots as they can just to be sure. And it gets worse and worse with every release and part of that is the release schedule of Bandai regarding the Macross Frontier items. If you want every release you have now three pre-orders pending. The YF-29 re-issue, the VF-171CF and the RVF-25. And non of us know how many units are available so maybe there will be units available at release date. It's a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy people see that items are rare and pre-ordering more units than they want resulting in smaller pre-order windows with every further release and no valve to release the tension because there are no actual releases. I don't know if I was extremely lucky but I was able to order a VF-25G from amiami at the release date. *shrug*
  12. Oh I'm pretty sure that all other that ordered now at Hobbyfan will to the very same, so don't feel guilty
  13. I hope that means less competition if NY reopens their pre-orders.
  14. I guess they will have a few more pre-orders by the end of the weekend.
  15. Almost no one likes Luca even if he does not have the beauty marks on his cheeks. He is not Ozma you know. It's just an assumption that I made based on that.
  16. Good question they have opened pre-orders for other Bandai products that will be released in June. No RVF-25 though. Last time the opened pretty late for the VF-171CF I assume they will open when the have a confirmation of the available stock from Bandai. I assume somewhere around next week. Be warned the pre-order batch for the last Bandai Valkyrie was a few dozen units. So they will sell out in seconds especially when the production run of Luca is lower than the other releases.
  17. What ist the problem with Hobbyfan.com do they have the tendency to not fulfill pre-orders? Not when you place the pre-order but they send you a payment request usually two weeks before the item is available where you have to pay.
  18. You're right and that why I'm writing a response at this very moment. I have to to totally agree with Ace here. Plus we just don't know enough about the market to make qualified assumptions if Bandai doing things the wrong way. Other than that I would love to see a DX Chogokin Valkyrie from Bandai to be a web shop exclusive just so they can see how large the demand really is. If they sell 30% (fictional number) more units than before due to customers who ordered from overseas that maybe something would change. However it could be that that the increase is only in the 1-5% margin so they want even bother to address non domestic demands. The YF-30 could be that product. I honestly hoped it would be the YF-29 Anniversary Edition but that thing is the weirdest release ever in my opinion. A Valkyrie that was produced for the 30th anniversary of Macross but gets a re-issue one year later when no other toys of the Macross Frontier line being re-done. So they produce a second production run for a toy that should be per definition rare were the bread and butter units are only available in the blink of an eye. I don't think that Bandai should stop to make Macross Frontier products because the Valkyries the released after the V1s are awesome toys. But I realized that I'm not the target audience so I've to buy them with a mark-up which is fine because I think the toys are worth the price I payed for them. Of course I'm angry that I couldn't snap the meaty pre-order discount from amiami but hey, if I get the toy within my set price range I'm still a happy camper at the end of the day.
  19. Well I hope they release the YF-30 and the VF-27 Renewal at some point as DX Chogokin I have already reserved places for them in my cabinets as well as for the RVF-25 lets see if it ever gets into my reach. No news from NY though- Man I hate weekends.
  20. I blame all the reviewers who gave the Renewals a buy recommendation! Because would've they rated them badly no one would want one! I could order the VF-25F and VF-25S without a problem because no one knew what to expect from the V2s. And with the VF-25G the madness begun! *crying manly tears* Just kidding guys! Of course I blame: *rolls a dice* HarmonyGold for this PoS!
  21. Just re-watched the VF-19 Kai review from jenius and the landing gear doors make some really loud snap noises. He also mentioned that you should be careful with the Gewalk joint because there might break a delimiter. Give it a watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFsvmis4dKQ&list=UUwLPOZ_xJKKVkcaE4DMM9cw
  22. I'm a little scared when even the MW veterans are all doom and gloom about the RVF-25.
  23. O.k. now I officially frustrated enough with Bandai that I bought die S.H.Figuarts Origami Cyclone.... ...yeah I know I should not reward Bandai for this crap by buying more Bandai stuff but.... *bursts into tears* ...it's all good now come on NY bring the next batch for $300 each plus shipping.
  24. Well the pre-order window at amiami opened at 4 pm in Japan but even if you were on-line at this point it was still a gamble to get one because the items were all gone in seconds while the server was lacking. I had several times a add to cart button who was not responding. Others hat the items in their cart but they where gone (i.e. sold to another customer) before they could checkout. Most other stores opened their pre-order slot in the following hour. So I assume the best time frame will be from 4 to 6 pm JST.
