  1. To be fair, Alto is older than Hikaru or even Max. He's turning 18 in the next episode. He's legally old enough to be a soldier now.
  2. This 1/144th scale model has internal headshields. It's not impossible, even for a VF-1D. You guys are being too paranoid. The 1/48 had them. The commercial clearly shows it. Stop being stupid.
  3. Then what the hell was he doing in Snatch? "Two minutes, Turkish!"
  4. I'm not taking it for granted, I'm just saying they don't use any exotic methods for putting one foot in front of the other. Also, all the people saying, "ANIME MAGIC" need to stop.
  5. Here's a VF-0 walking in GERWALK mode. In regards to how the machine is controlled, Shin uses the foot pedal assembly to activate the engines in the legs to push the GERWALK into a standing position and he works the right joystick a bit to get it to turn. It actually balances itself even after the loss of one arm and wing and while Shin was firing the gunpod at the ground and then walking the fire into the air to hit Nora's Sv-51.
  6. All of the internal diagrams show actuators and motors. They walk just by walking. You might want to check out episode 2 of Macross Zero to see a VF-0 is GERWALK mode just walking along. If you want some examples of the power distribution system and a shot of one of the actuators. Here's some snaps from Macross Zero episode 1. While Roy's VF-0 is transforming, there is a graphic displaying the power transfer from the engines to the rest of the machine with the major actuators highlighted and a shot of one of the actuators.
  7. It has a lot of problems. I think it only got by on the fact that for the longest time, Battletech was the only game in town when it came to giant robot table top gaming. I know messing around with Megamek makes all the flaws seem more apparent when you can just run scenarios without dealing with the nitty-gritty of paper management.
  8. Don't forget that all the big franchises had boardgames too. L-Gaim Macross Orguss Gundam Megazone 23 Also the fact that Battletech is kind of a terrible system doesn't help either.
  9. They're launching from the chest armor bits that are part of the super pack.
  10. It didn't blow up the entire battleship. It shot the engine which caused the ship to explode. It's entirely different than Klan's cannon or a Varja blast obliterating something.
  11. Actually this was started in DYRL when the micronized version of Warea, Rori, and Konda had really big ears.
  12. Seals only sleep two and half minutes at a time.
  13. If you guys like DAPDX so much, we're generally open to guests. I want to have Graham's sexy voice on our show.
  14. And continuing in the tradition of first MS Igloo's idea of "2 FAST 2 FURIOUS," the HLVs spin around like UFOs. Man, this looks like it's gonna be twice as terrible.
  15. The Spartas itself is still kind of a holdover from the earlier drafts. It's not really a hover tank so much as it's a hover chariot.
  16. Hey what's the best raw for this episode? The GG subs do not sync up with the one I've got.
  17. If we recorded weekly podcasts about Macross Frontier it'd be nothing but me talking about Alto hime.
  18. It was originally set in Japan so the horses wouldn't have been a problem.
  19. Is there any way to remove the screw caps on an SV-51? I need to fix the arm.
  20. You'd be stressed too if you knew that all Meltrans carry a knife when around a man they love. Just ask Millia and Veffidas.
  21. And Japan hates women. Especially when they're lead characters.
  22. Sorry dreamweaver, but you're incorrect. Here's the official chronology from the Macross Compendium 2007 From Macross Compendium Jump to: navigation, search January 20 * Conclusion of U.N. Wars. February * The VF-X nontransformable flight test vehicle as well as the VF-X1 prototype variable fighter begins first flight tests. * Rollout of MBR-04-Mk I. June * Space tests of the VF-X1 begins. November * Decision made to formally adopt the VF-X1. VF-1 series mass production [scheduled to] begin. So the VF-1 was in testing from February of 2007 all the way until November. So Rainy Night could have taken place within that year. Here's the timeline for 2008. 2008 From Macross Compendium Jump to: navigation, search February * An alien relic is discovered and recovered from the bottom of the ocean near the island of Mayan. (Macross History version 2008) Macross Zero July * The Mayan Conflict breaks out between the U.N. Forces aircraft carrier Asuka and Anti-U.N. Alliance Forces. (Macross History version 2008) * The U.N. government and Anti-U.N. forces secretly deploy the VF-0 and SV-51 respectively while disputing over a recently discovered phenomenon on the island of Mayan in the South Pacific Ocean. (The events are kept secret for at least five decades.) * The Bird Man that was the alien relic awakens and goes out of control. (Macross History version 2008) * Space carrier ARMD I commissioned. August * VF-1 series [scheduled to] begin deployment for actual combat. (However, usage is to have been limited to Fighter mode only.) September * After the Bird Man Incident, the nations who joined the Anti-U.N. Alliance announce their withdrawal. (Macross History version 2008) * Rollout of the first HWR-00 series model. November * The mass production of the all-regime variable fighter VF-1 series begins. November 23 * Rollout of the first trial production VF-1A variable fighter. November 29 * Maiden flight of the first trial production VF-1A variable fighter. So here's the proof that Macross Zero happens after Rainy Night. I know the name "VF-0" is somewhat counter intuitive, but they weren't about to call it VF-2, and you can't call it VF-1.5 and VF-3 was already taken. And they couldn't call the OVA Macross Zero without a zero in it somewhere.
