1. Hmm, if it starts around the time of the Leyte battle, it _could_ start with the sinking of the Musashi. Then we get to see 2 ships blow up instead of one.
2. I guess what a lot of people like in the old GTR was the ability of the RB to take the stress of all the extra aftermarket modified HP up to over 4 digits. So even if the new GTR comes with 400-500hp stock but if it new block starts cracking up at 700-800 hp or lower, yeah its never gonna be the same.
3. The Japanese made a mess out of it. They had a speed advantage of over 10 knots but by ordering a 'General Attack' (each ship attacking any which way they wanted) and not doing a 'Beatty' (e.g. Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!) they never really closed the range after THREE HOURS!!!! It could have been a total massacre. 3 Battleships and escorting heavy cruisers against a force of destroyers and escort carriers...
4. I don't think those fleshy bits have anything to do with him being able to be alive. IIRC, they ripped his head from his body and he was still alive. I'm sure it just a face for people to feel easy talking with....urmm..well..not like it was easy talking to a bald freak with some sorta machinations at the back...but yeah. Probably only thing organic about him was his brains and eyes and some synthetic flesh ala terminator. ANd yeah those things are called APUs....whatever they stand for. 346117 IIRC, he had to eat some nutrient paste thru his mouth right? Remember seeing that in Robocop 1. Which means he gotta have erm, some kinda exhaust system... A round smashing into his upper lip should mush the whole inside of the head after rebounding off the metal bits at the back of his neck/head armour.
5. To be fair, the original Terminator was a slow pile of tin, too. It was just stubborn. I imagine a modern Robocop movie would feature some stunts. 291527 As long as he doesn't cover up that fleshy jaw of his, Robocop can be punked by any street hoodlum with a handgun. Robocop makes as much tactical sense as those open air mecha (can't remember the name!) from Matrix 3.
6. I would suggest Amenbo. Their stuff is discounted from the yen RRP at about 5% and you get to see exact shipping charges _before_ you order. And they offer 6 different types of shipping. And they do fan service like sometimes offering those limited made for Japan conventions or events type items.
7. Wonder if they will scale him down to fit the 12 inch size. If it was a proper 1/6 scale the bugger will be 14 inches tall without the hair!
8. Not quite. Contrary to popular belief (perpetuated by the above-mentioned caricatures), Napoleon was not especially short. After his death in 1821, the French emperor's height was recorded as 5 feet 2 inches in French feet. This corresponds to 5 feet 6.5 inches in Imperial (British) feet, or 1.686 meters, making him slightly taller than an average Frenchman of the 19th century. The metric system was introduced during his lifetime, so it was natural that he would be measured in feet and inches for much of his life. A French inch was 2.71 centimetres, whereas an Imperial inch is 2.54 centimetres. In addition to this miscalculation, his nickname le petit caporal adds to the confusion, as non-francophones mistakenly take petit literally as meaning "small"; in fact, it is an affectionate term reflecting on his camaraderie with ordinary soldiers. He also surrounded himself with soldiers, his elite guard, who were always six feet tall or taller. 341841 Hitler wasn't such a short lil bugger too. About 5'10''. Not tall even for his time, but not the little shorty most people make him out to be.
9. For full effect, you'll need Stallone as the prosecutor then. And Eddie Murphy as the judge. Ah, I know what needs a re-make! The 1978 STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL with chewbacca's family.
10. I wouldn't mind a Starcraft movie either. They can use all the WWE guys for the Terran Marines. Just no cheesy stunts like surfing on a board while firing from the hip with hip-hop fast n furious music in the background.
11. I thought what made Predator and Aliens great was not so much the fact about the suspense of not seeing the enemy on screen but the focus on the hardware (miniguns and gyro stabilised rifles!) and the trash talking marines. Now Alien, that was a great classic due to the tension and suspense of not seeing the damn creature on screen.
12. that thought is even worse, i like the first 2 Aliens movies even more then I liked Predator, 340504 Ah, read carefully. I said remake Alien 2 or Aliens 2. No fim ever existed with that title. It was Alien Aliens Aliens 3 Aliens 4. So my point was to cut 3 and 4 out of the timeline and continue with Alien 2 or Aliens 2. edit : Ah, maybe 'remake' wasn't the right choice of words. MAKE Alien 2 or Aliens 2.
13. They NEED to remake an Alien 2 or Aliens 2. Aliens 3 and 4 should be officially disassociated with the canon and franchise.
14. The local papers here are calling it the F-15T already. T for Temasek (Malay name for Singapore used in the 19th century). The Defence Ministry is claiming that they are meant for replacing the Super Skyhawks so they should be geared for ground pounding and that should mean getting the CFTs with the bomb pylons.
15. I second that LOGH recommendation. Nothing comes close! Took me a while to remember who is who in the show (so many characters) and then when I finally remember his face/name/background the bugger dies!
16. Its like Cao Cao from China's three kingdoms era. He ALWAYS gets painted as the baddie.
17. Here's the bad news. They are totally sold out in HK and Japan before the first week.
18. To think that guys like this don't get much recognition as artists but weed smoking bums who splash 3 tones of paint on some expensive canvas gets hailed as talented visionaries etc etc..... BAH!
19. I think its all agreeable that with a vehicular mount, the M2 Browning, XM214 5.56 minigun or the M-134 7.62 minigun would massacre the entire dino park. A WW2 vintage Mk103/108 or MG151/20 would be fun too. But if forced to choose only ONE weapon and with no Hummer to mount it on, I can only think of the earlier suggested M-16/M203 combo. 5.56 for the Raptors and the 40mm for the T-Rex.
20. OK, how about shooting the damn T-Rex from a hovering heli with Rambo's explosive tipped bow and arrow combo? Ah yes, a non-jammable backup weapon? How about a Hatori Hanzo blade? I'd sure like to see Bruce Lee with nunchuks vs a single Raptor. *whap* *whap* *whap* *aiiyyyeeee my arm! my arm!*
21. If I was going into a jungle/forest infested with Raptors and T-Rexes, I wouldn't feel safe in anything less then a light armoured vehicle like a Hummer or Truck (a tank would be best). A hummer with a Browning .50 or 7.62 Minigun (ammo would take up most of the space and weight though) would show em Raptors who's da boss. I think a minigun would shave even the biggest T-Rex into 2 pieces with a 1-2 sec burst! I'm pretty sure the .50 would mangle a T-Rex pretty well too. How effective are Ak-47s and M16s against elephants? I read that poachers use AK-47s to kill elephants. Not sure how fast it does the job though. Oh yeah, strap some Claymore's onto the sides of the vehicle. That show spoil the Raptor packs' day.
22. I liked the Raptor too. Top speed wasn't too bad once you got her going. And I preferred Mass Drivers (Raptor) to Laser Cannons (Rapier). Anyway, the WC1 AI was SUCKY so good firepower is more important then fancy flying. I remember that one mission where you had to take out the Kitties before they blew up the defecting Kitty Cap ship. Only a Raptor could have done that mission.
23. Hey, with all that rather 'rough' finishing (at least to my untrained eye looking at the photos) on the prototypes, would they have been significantly less steathy then real design spec? If true, wouldn't that make it hard to judge the stealth aspects of the prototypes during the flyoff? One wouldn't know if the stealth results were a result of design or quality of finish.
24. I like the 'Fluttering Petal' Heavy fighter from the Renegade Legion RPG/Boordgame. Can't find a decent pic of it now though.
