Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, he still has unsavory attitude towards the F-16. Well, per this website: Lt. Col. Pat "Gums" McAdoo, USAF Ret., one of the first F-16 pilots at Hill AFB, recalls the origin of the name "F-16 Viper": Even when F-16 Fighting Falcon became the official name, Viper stuck around and became the unofficial nickname for the F-16. The name "Viper" is even officially used for the Joe Bill Dreyden "Semper Viper" award, which is awarded for excellent airmanship by F-16 pilots. -

I'm holding off on this MP, but I'd be all-in for a Sunstreaker in police colors.- 17378 replies

All Things Front Mission
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This was a pleasant surprise. The WANDER ARTS figure line is back on track. Grille Sechs in Centipede color scheme and in urban camo (Front Mission 3): Kyojun in Glen's Special and urban camo schemes (Front Mission 5): Frost in red Hell's Wall and urban camo (Front Mission 1): I had thought this line was dead after HLJ cancelled my preorders. HLJ and even AmiAmi went on to say that after the first figure with its two variants was released, the rest of the line was cancelled by Square Enix.- 90 replies

Some interesting insight into the redesigning of Blaze and Adam for Streets of Rage 4. I'm kinda irked about Axel looking like a hobo that likes grunge, but I'm still gonna play the hell out of this game.

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
After quite a bit of searching, I found the rest of the gang: Was it worth the wait? Yes. A resizing of an already beefy design on Defensor sounded sublime, especially after missing out on the original Maketoys release. It's also very stable in a low stance: Major joints like the shoulders, hips, and knees have solid ratchets on them. However, the elbow joints cannot support the massive gun with a bent arm, it's just too heavy. Just a couple of complaints come to mind. Yes Model was all too faithful in resizing Guardia; they didn't even bother to give Katana rolling rear wheels, just molded-in tires. Yes Model could have also made an improvement by finding a way for the gestalt's head to actually face different directions. The head is on a ball joint, but is caged to face forward by the ladder base assembly. And then there's the presence of fake screws scribed into Vulcan's hip joints. I reckon the original Guardia had real screws there, but Yes Model decided to leave them out to save costs. But why scribe the look of having screws there? Why not just smooth the surface out? It just seems odd. So yeah, not a lot of complaints from me. It's a great IDW-esque combiner made out of four Deluxe-sized limbs and a Voyager class torso. Anyhoo, I'm glad Yes Model went all the way through to complete the team-I had strong doubts about that. I highly recommend their KO.- 9344 replies

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes-Model's oversize KO of Maketoys' Vulcan finally arrived for me this week: I wish I could at least provide a pic of its fully combined mode, but the limb bots are at another location. Regardless, it looks good and feels solid so far. The printed instructions are absolute crap, so thank goodness there are transformation videos already out there. I'll post a few pics once I go home and grab the other not-Protectobots.- 9344 replies

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I only have one That mix works quite well! I have only one set of the Aoshima Dropship/APC combo-I regret not buying more. I can't believe it was 15 years ago, but I did a mini review of of that Airwolf. -
Very interesting indeed. I'll probably get one for my Saturn as I am still not happy with its emulation.

I haven't played it in a while, but I remember Android Assault/Bari-Arm being a fun shooter and one that isn't terribly difficult. It has a Thunderforce III type of feel to it, if that helps. Definitely worth a try.

Despite their Ride Armors breaking, Sentinel and their Riobots have a pretty good batting average in my book. So chances are high that their Legioss will be of good quality. Personally, I'm excited about the red one.

G.I. Joe Classified Figures and Toys
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Got the big Snake Eyes box yesterday. Hasbro knocked it out of the park for presentation for their debut figure. I was afraid their packaging would be more impressive than the figure inside, but the figure itself looks great-neatly painted and detailed. I haven't gotten to actually play with it though.- 1129 replies

Threezero is gonna have interchangeable parts with their next Ingram so you could either have Unit 2 or Unit 3 along with their respective pilots.
