  1. If it's anything like MP Prime, they've only got half a dozen of them to sell, anyway.
  2. Thanks! His torso and arms are from jungle Wayans-cord from the first movie line, and the legs are from the current Joe Trooper. The hands are the current movie Cobra Commander, but they've been ball jointed on Lego levers. The head is a casting of War for Cybertron Optimus Prime. Made the jacket out of vinyl tape. The AA12 is from marauder Gun Runners. Gakken85, you're not the first one to point that out.
  3. I seem to recall an episode were O'Neill made a comment about there being a another Col. O'Neil, who spelled his name with one L. "That guy has no sense of humor." I always liked the way O'Neill played kind of a buffoon, until it all hit the fan. Once tactical thinking was required, I swear the man would suddenly become a nigh unstoppable bad ass.
  4. I love you, man. My first Optimus Prime was the Power Master version, but I got a Takara reissue of the original a few years ago. I love the dark blue, and I've long been a fan of yellow eyes on Optimus. I even painted the eyes on my Classics Op.
  5. Finally finished my U.S.S. Hobb Creek All markings are done to 2370s standards, so the side marking is based on the Intrepid class, not the Constitution class. 1/2500 scale, so the pictures are larger than the model really is. Only picture, where I managed to catch some of my clear coat based aztecing. Photoshopped! Background image came from here.
  6. Paint one blue, call it the U.S.S. TARDIS, NCC-∞
  7. *low whistle* That looks to be roughly in the neighborhood of 1/18 scale. I do custom action figures that size, and I don't think I've ever gotten a paint job that crisp. I see no rough edges on any of those different colors. I'm still working on my U.S.S. Hobb Creek. Just started working on the decal sheet, and testing the sizes of the various markings, before I finalize colors and commit to printing on actual decal paper. Yes, I have an in universe reason for the improbable registry that this and the other ships in its project have.
  8. Evan's Designs has a lot of LED and wiring stuff to help simplify getting things hooked up. They've even got some rectifier equipped LEDs that don't have to be wired in a specific direction like most. And, they have international shipping.
  9. I've had no problem using Model master Acrylics on urethane resin. I don't think I bothered to prime it, first, but the Model Master Primer would work at least as well as the paint itself.
  10. Ah, Enzo Ferrari; the man responsible for Lamborghini getting into the supercar business. When you sell to a well off clientele and one of them is unhappy with your product, it's probably unwise to tell them to make their own if they think they can do better.
  11. I'm still trying to figure out how someone Batou's size can even fit into a Stratos. The real ones practically have a height restriction built into them. Guess it's anime magic.
  12. Work continues on my Exeter test bed Constitution. Very close to paint, now. Now, I'm building this off the old Ertl molds. I just got the three piece set with the new Round 2 molds today. Other than the front of the engineering hull being vastly improved, the new kit actually has less detail. The vents/grills on the nacelle struts have been reduced to smooth recesses, and the warp grills are just gone. Both sides have the rounded recess that the outboard side is supposed to have. Torp launchers and impulse deck seem badly undersized, too.
  13. Man, I should have looked at this thread a long time ago! I've been building a 1:2500 scale Star Trek Constitution class ship. Making this one as ship pulled from the boneyard and refit to test for the Exeter class from Star Trek Online. Started with an old AMT model, fixed a lot of the detailing, scratch built a nacelle, and made molds. I'll be building a new B deck on that saucer, then probably make another mold.
  14. You could also try Maas metal polish. It works great on a lot of things, not just metal. In fact, I've used it buff out acrylic model master paint, before. It does, however, attack Future.
  15. Every time I scroll past this, I think "He looks 'tired.'" Doesn't help that I actually recognize the tread pattern of the BMX tires used on that costume.
  16. I still remember their Saturday Morning Animes. Of course, that was back during the days of the FTL Newsfeed, long before they changed their name to look like slang for syphilis.
  17. I've been watching Voyager on Hulu, since I never got to see the last four seasons. I like the show. It actually managed to make both the borg and Q interesting. Next Gen left me ambivalent about the borg, and the Q episodes were always annoying. Not saying the show is perfect, I still think the Hirogen are second rate Predator knock offs.
  18. Crisp! Been playing with scenery stuff, myself. and photoshopped glow effects....
