  1. BTW, It's out. It adapts the first 2 collections (Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll's House). I'm about 5 episodes in and it's not bad.
  2. From the call so far, $9.8B in revenue, $3.4B in loss. Expected revenue was ~$12B. ~1.7M new subscriptions on streaming (versus Paramount+ posted today that it added ~3.7M new subscribers). HBO Max and Discovery+ will be folded into a new service by Summer 2023. Kids shows from WB will see a big reduction. No change to HBO/HBO Max shows except cuts to previously mentioned kids/family programming and direct-to-streaming movies (see Batgirl thread).
  3. Great Resignation & Consolidation.
  4. Looking at it from a financial perspective (which will be the justification), if Batgirl's perspective viewing numbers would be no better than if it was in theaters, is it worth it? We'll probably be seeing the extreme form of Netflix's culling. HBO Max is going away. Discovery+ will probably be cut and both become tabs on whatever new service is combining the 2 services. And we know how much trouble that is down the road (ala Marvel), but to recoup whatever debt Discovery inherited from AT&T from buying WB on top of the $43B spent buying WB, I wouldn't rule out anything.
  5. 6 streaming-only films have been silently removed from HBO Max already. Those rumored cutbacks seem to be picking up more steam by the hour.
  6. Some trades report test screenings came out poor. Other say the ballooning budget may not have recouped in theater earnings. Some insiders are saying none of the above. WB's new management want the DC properties to have theatrical releases. No HBO Max-only releases. Straight on theatrical releases. Regardless, there are likely still more of changes going on and coming down at WB-Discovery, with word changes are coming to HBO Max soon, so this might not be the end of it. I imagine they are looking at the whole slate of WB projects and looking at what to cut their losses on. edit: There's an earnings call scheduled on Thursday, 8/4/2022. Some big changes will likely be announced, starting with... layoffs.
  7. Ah.....Andor has been pushed back to September 21 instead of August 31. And now episodes 1-3 will premiere together. Likely S2.
  8. Here's the official answer: https://twitter.com/MarvelStudios/status/1551000839283585024 But we will see Charlie Cox again in She Hulk. Other shows announced Secret Invasion, Echo (already previously announced), Loki season 2 (already mentioned), Ironheart (And word is we will see the Mark I Ironheart suit in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), and Agatha: Coven of Chaos (I'm not enthusiastic on this one ),
  9. Just keep circling. 🤣
  10. It may have been "thought of" before 2005 (like sitting in the back of their head but never coming out unless given the OK). Doubtful once they were told the show was cancelled. But like them I think about a lot of things that take years to maybe or maybe not come to fruition. Doug Drexler, who designed the NX-refit, did state there was never any official plans to refit the NX-class for the show and that it was a wish-list-item for him, personally.(Seeing that it took 5 years for it to reach print from an idea is quite a ways.) Same for the writers. The writers, in the commentaries, planted lots of seeds in their stories that they hoped to develop. But I think every writer on any show would try to do that.
  11. Season 5 was never even on the drawing board; more of "We'll be lucky if we even get to think about it". In the Blu-ray commentary, the network was ready to cut the show by the 3rd season, but the network, essentially, gave it a chance to finish off with a Season 4, reduced budget/episode, moved to Friday nights and all. Most of the cast and crew knew by January 2005 before the official word announced in February 2005. One aspect of Enterprise and even the jump from TOS to TNG-eras I do like, in retrospect, is watching society and cultures change. Yes, that retcon with the Vulcans but whose to say these little things didn't happen; slightly more antagonistic mixed in with that stoic logic before toning down the antagonist. As Janeway said, things were much different in Kirk's era compared to when Janeway became captain. It's interesting watching societal changes in story.
  12. Comic-Con is next week (July 21-24). The Prologue episode premiered in Yokohama yesterday (today in the West) at the Gundam Factory. The Prologue episode's SDCC premiere will be on July 21 at 12:30PM (PST) in Room 6A. Series premiere will be in October.
  13. Can't say I like this show as I'm not into Garth Ennis' shock value-style comics. That being said...
  14. I think there's more to this thread which maybe explored as the series moves on.
  15. Episode 10 (season finale) I'm impressed with SNW after this season. Hopefully they continue. I'm still pissed about Hemmer. They better NOT bring in Scotty. It ain't time to bring him in. Not till we get Kirk's tenure as captain of Enterprise.
  16. Crunchyroll is just streaming the original 83-episode series. Meh and 🥱. Another year. Same olde panel.
  17. They haven't indicated when or where M7 movie will come. I suspect it may come later. We still have Zero MD7 M7 movie Fleet of the Strongest Women (maybe lumped in with Encore ?) Frontier movies on Blu-ray Delta movies on Blu-ray or theatrical release FB 2012 (maybe tied up with DYRL?) They haven't indicated whether II is a new film transfer or upscale. II had the least amount of release info of all then news this weekend.
