It's probably due to the fact that we aren't getting as much time to spend with them as we would a normal linear series. Here we only see the only glimpses of their lives as oppose to previous shows where we followed them for 6-months out of the year (viewer perspective). With AGE, we're only spending 3-months before they move on to the next generation. So perhaps our mental investment isn't as great as it would be with a different series.

Mmmkay....See, pineapple salad, requires the use of actual fruit...in and as food. That didn't happen. And the "older mentor" dying ain't new with Gundam.

There's a difference between not liking a thread and threads about a subject that could literally be answered in a few posts, thereby wasting board space with thread that would inevitably fall back into the abyss of pages. Your thread was the latter. That's what this thread is for and Benson13 said. As the slogan goes, "You got questions. We got answers."

Man of Steel - Superman movie has a director
azrael replied to Mr March's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm fine with them tossing the red underwear, but of the set photos of the costume, I'd really wish they would have slapped on a belt to break up the top from the bottom and so we don't have the unitard look.- 442 replies

Yep, sounds like a short circuit. -
You're probably not. I won't want to see modern tech retroactively inserted into older shows either.

Reminds me of The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special hosted by Morgan Spurlock. One of the series producer responds to critics who say the show isn't funny anymore. And his retort is "Maybe you've changed." Isn't it? Yah. Look what it does to the fans of the bastardized franchise of Macross.

Is Sony still worth buying? I'm not sure I can answer that. In this very competitive electronics market that we have, does Sony still have the same value, price/performance, features that a competitor may have? Not looking at the Playstation brand, can the same be said about the rest of their products? Is there a equal product that has similar or better features, price/performance factor, etc.? -

Gundam Wiki is probably jumping the gun. He probably is, but I don't recall them mentioning Asemu's abilities yet. Considering AGE-2's focus on manueverability and Asemu's knack for gun kata and dual weapons, I'd love it if the producers threw in a "What? He destroyed X mobile suits in Y minutes?" (where Y<X).

Oh jeez... Here we go again with "let's make make-believe more real". But the story is telling...showing us what they look like. If didn't know what they looked like, what's the point of having robots transforming into planes then? So even showing us on screen isn't realistic enough? We have to close our eyes, imagine it, even as it's being shown on screen? M'kay. And what details are we familiar with? And isn't putting realism into unrealistic entertainment, taking the fun out of unrealistic entertainment? Why have an imaginary world if I can't imagine things existing in it that don't exist in the real world. If I wanted to make my imaginary world more realistic, I'd probably end up living in the real world 'cuz I would be slapped with lawsuits, unimaginable paperwork, etc., just to get the grant money to fund this 1.2 km long space vessel.

Surprisingly, I thought this week's episode wasn't too bad. Compared to last week's that is.

Macs have, traditionally (and still), focused on graphics, colors, and fonts. Because they (traditionally) controlled their own hardware, hence, software drivers, they could really push the limits on the hardware. The Mac OS graphics APIs had much more care and maturing than other OSs which had to code for the general case and leaving the software drivers to the manufacturers. Eventually, Microsoft and hardware companies caught up, but by that time, Mac became synonimous with graphical design and has remained the "standard" for it. Apple has played more with the graphics APIs than others so you do have better color accuracy, crisper fonts, blah blah blah, etc.. That being said, a normal person will not be able to tell the difference and most people probably won't be able to tell the difference. My opinion is as long as the laptop has dedicated graphics, you'll be fine with any laptop. And since you have a larger monitor already, even better. Just don't do any design work on a puny 15" or 17" laptop screen. -

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
azrael replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh well. Killed by $$$ spent in post-production. At least they'll air the pilot on TV, at some point. Unfortunately if it costs that much just for the pilot, I really don't see how a web-series would be feasible unless it was covered from head-to-toe in ads.- 698 replies

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
azrael replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, Lili Bordan plays a character who use to work for Graystone Industries. That enough of a tie-in? They can always bring in Esai Morales with old-person makeup for those times "Husker" goes on shore-leave...- 698 replies
