  1. That is also one part I need! Not for a custom, but because I really screwed mine up trying to fix the seam on my Roy VF-1S. ...I have issues with using too much putty! (and BTW, just for everyone else...squadron green putty sucks!! )
  2. What he said. Gomen Nasai In other words, Oops! ...I apologize Roy! ..That is what I get for not reading the entire thread! ...And now it appears bok isn't bok at all! I think I need a nap now! Melissa
  3. unfortunately it cannot be converted to a normal valk due to the non-removable radar attachment That does not make me very happy! I really would like to have an elint to display without armor. To those that have the VE-1, here is a question: How difficult would it be to mod the radar attachment to be removable so that the elint could fully transform to fighter mode? Is it even possible? Please share your ideas! I really want to figure something out...this sucks!! <_< BTW, thanks to Toonz for sharing the info! Melissa
  4. BANG!!! ...Borrows fiancee's Desert Eagle .50 AE and shoot's off Commander McBride's over-active posting fingers! ... <_< . . . . . . . edit to add: just funnin with ya!

    1/48 Line

Actually, the VF-0 is substantially bigger than the VF-1, that's whay it's going to be 1/72, to make it about 1/60 VF-1 sized. I suppose the VF-0 is more F-14 sized, where the VF-1 is more of a F-16. D'oh! ..Beat me to the punch!

    1/48 Line

Just to clarify, the VF-0 is larger than the VF-1. Straight from the compendium: VF-0: Length overall: 18.69 m compared to: VF-1- Fighter mode: Wing span: fully extended 20° 14.78 m VT-1C (estimated), fully extended 14.78 m swept backward 42° 12.12 m overswept backward 72° 8.25 m [8.75 m] in stowage position at 122° 4.70 m Length overall: 14.23 m So, a 1/72 scale VF-0 isn't going to look as out of scale with the 1/60 VF-1 as you might think! After all, the YF-19 (which is smaller even than the VF-0 at 18.62 m) is in 1/72 scale and it doesn't look tiny compared to the 1/60 VF-1's. ...Now just imagine the size of a 1/48 scale VF-0!
  7. ...Who are you calling uncrasmatic?? Yep, it does come with one of the cassettes. Condor (laserbeak) I can't wait for this one! It looks terrific! Anyone have any idea what is next for this line? I really wish we could get some of the gestalts. A gestalt that is NOT just another repaint of the Combaticons that is... Edit to add: As for your question about the earpieces. AFAIK, they will not be included since I have not seen them in any of the pictures of the contents. But I could be wrong...
  8. Not trying to stir up trouble, really I am not. I just want to ask a question. Since both wrylac and bok are back, would you consider letting SkullyGR back for at least a trial period? Although yes there was some trouble, there were several times when he DID contribute some valuable info to MW...and I for one miss hearing from him and reading his insights! Just wondering... Thanks, Melissa
  9. The official name for the "brownie" is just the VF-1A mass production type. "CF" (cannon fodder) and even "brownie" for that matter are just nicknames. Mainly becuase we see them being routinely destroyed in the series! They exist just as a plot device to be wiped out by the Zentradi..in other words they are just ...cannon fodder! After all, if you want a series portraying a war to be realistic, there must be deaths. And you can't kill ALL of the main characters. So, the producers wind up using the faceless VF-1A "brownie" pilots to portray this. ..Kinda like the "red shirts" of Star Trek who are also "cannon fodder" in a sense! Even poor Kakizaki just had a custom CF VF-1A and we all know what happened to him..... As a further explanation, check out this definition of cannon fodder (from Hyperdictionary.com) as it applies to this situation: Soldiers who are regarded as expendable in the face of artillery fire Melissa
  10. But, remember that Hasegawa announced long ago that they were indeed making a model of the VF-0. We just didn't know when to expect it. I am really hoping this means that it is coming soon!
  11. domo arrigato gozaimas! I'll pick it up this morning and use the boss's scanner to post pics if nobody else gets to it first! Melissa
  12. Only if it is that sexy bucket-head Britai from the Robotech Sentinels movie!
  13. I have a question for you. Exactly which issue of EGM is the article in? I don't usually buy those magazines and don't want to waste money on the wrong one. Thanks in advance!! Melissa BTW...It's Moss-pee-da
  14. What's the switch on the back of the Minmay doll for? Graham Decoration only! Just a molded on piece of plastic. I suppose it is to make it more of a clone of the one we see in Macross. Although I really wish the switch would have allowed you to play a tune from DYRL? or the TV series...That would have been really cool! ..I will take some pics of it later and post them on this thread! These little things are terrifc though! I love the chase figure but I wish it had replaced something in the set other than my regular hair Hikaru! <_< Oh well, I should be happy that I was able to get a set! Can't wait for series two! .......................................................................................... And to Toonz and MD...D'oh! ..That is NOT what I meant! Heh! Melissa
  15. Got mine today! Very cool little figures! I even was lucky enough to get the chase Minmay doll!! Thanks again to Tam for letting me know about these. ...Now I also hope that this inspires Yamato to start making Macross action figures themselves. These little gashapon figures are nice...but imagine a larger detailed Yamato action figure! mmmm!
  16. Yup! ...It was the Minmay doll "chase figure". IIRC, it was an auction on Yahoo Japan. I am just happy I was able to get one of Tam's last sets of the figures. They should be here tomorrow. Can't wait! Edit to add: A big thanks to Tamim! You Rock!!! Melissa
  17. FYI...Since you are in the U.S. like moi, you can skip the hardware stores and check in K-Mart or even your local grocery store. Little bit cheaper that way....Hope this helps! Melissa
  18. well i taped down the shield on the VF-11B to see if it hampers the transformation and have found it doesnt get in the way. however, if you are tempted to glue the shield on, remember you wont be able to take it back off again so only do it if you are absolutely sure you want to Huh!? The Heat shield on mine stays on fine. I just folded the tabs in the back like the instructions said. it stays on with no problems. I think he is talking about the shield that fits on the arm if I am not mistaken....I could be wrong though. As for the heat shield, I never could get that to fit right either! I wound up cutting of the tabs and using double sided tape to attach it to the canopy.
  19. Great topic Sephiroth! My very first Yamato was a 1/60 1A Hikaru that I paid $125.00! dollars for! I had no idea these toys even existed and was blown away when I saw it in this little anime and comic shop in Alabama. Shamefully, I must admit at the timeI wondered why it had those strange "Hikaru Ichijo" and "Do You Remember Love?" markings on it! ...all with the Row-bow-tek and Lick Hunter monikers nowhere to be found! So, I started doing some research and found the original Macross and MW! This led to a frenzy of buying to get the original M+ toys that I missed and started my addiction to catch them all! I have all of the Yamato Macross toy releases and I can honestly say they just keep getting better! Even the game recolor VF-19A was noticeably less floppy and much sturdier than my V1 YF-19. I was of course thrilled with the initial 1/60 VF-1 line...but then that even got better...from the addition of supers, strikes, tv paint schemes, accessories (pilots, improved gun pods, etc) even to the improvements in QC as the line progressed. Now Yamato suprises and delights me once again with the 1/48 line which gets better and better as we go along! I think it is terrific and Yamato has very much earned my respect! So, to answer your question.....When I got my first Yamato , I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning! Here was the toy I had always wanted as a child and now I HAD IT! ...Felt the same way when I opened my first 1/48! I'm hooked and I will continue to buy all the new Macross toys that Yamato can produce! Funny thing is, I once thought that nothing could be as great as opening that first 1/60 VF-1...Yamato has proven me wrong once...Here is hoping that they do it again and again!
  20. While a specific date was not mentioned a mysterious stranger with a hacking cough revealed on the VEX message board that the YF-19FP will be released in 2004. So, delayed until next year but definetly still due. Hope this helps! ...who was that masked man? I don't mind the delay as I have a feeling the finished product will be well worth it! Melissa
  21. I'm still blue! Just got rid of the numbers at the end of my user name. No need for extra reminders of my age as I start my advance up the proverbial hill... Melissa
  22. 1/72=8 1/60=23 (soon to be +4 with 2X VE-1 & VT-1)=27 1/48=9 Melissa
