This part swapping better be just removeable landing gear... I would absolutely hate to have to dismantle that VF-4 and swap out a bunch of parts to transform it. It kind of kills the reason to have a valkyrie toy. So my excitement is curbed by the fear of a partsformer VF-4...

Though we never saw those pilots, I'd like to give mention to the YF-19 pilots killed or critically injured prior to Isamu being brought it. The YF-19 has quite the kill count!

I don't care for the VB-6 Koenig Monster, it's only worth it for the gerwalk mode. And I'd rather have the MKII Destroid Monster (or even the Macross Zero version with OMGWTFCLAW!!!!).

The only thing I have to criticize Alto about in this episode is not having trained with his side-arm more. He should have been able to put two bullets into Ai-kun before Brera knocked him on his ass. I like Ai-kun, though I liked Ai-kun better as a small furry green thing or the furry ray.

For violent: I must mention DYRL Miria punching into a N-j-ger, the zentraedi inside opens his eyes realizing he's not dead. And then she blows his face off. Nice gruesome death. Followed by the not-nice stepping on the head of a dead (or made-very-dead) zentraedi. Gotta love DYRL Max depressurizing the poor bastard zentraedi's helmet after having ripped him from a regult. And... I'm too tired to think of other deaths not already mentioned.

Even the bootlegs are well made. My Joons VF-1J can still be transformed roughly and quickly, and not suffer at all. And those spring-loaded landing gears still snap my fingers. Ow! With a chunky munky, you don't need to worry about being gentle. You'd have to be trying hard to break one! OT: A Queen's Blade Shizuka figure, nice! And I love the cat!

Oh another good laugh is in Macross Plus episode 2, when Isamu shoots the VF-1J during the hostage exercise, and makes his YF-19 battroid pose proudly at his accuracy.

Watching Macross Frontier episode 13 makes me ROFLMAO. In particular the scene where we see "04 Global". So many people said that Zinjo and I were crazy for thinking that the "WTF-1" could be a Macross Class vessel that was not the original SDF-1 Macross. And we were right! I get a lot of satisfaction out of that episode.

I figure that Yamato has a different exclusive up their sleeve. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot to make the VF-1D an exclusive. Now some kind of repaint, that I could see being an exclusive.

In going towards the decision of manliest death, I also keep in mind that Guld is a mentally unstable guy that either a) sexually assaulted the woman he loved, or B) raped the woman he loved (which happened is a hotly debatable topic). Guld's got too much bad baggage to redeem. On the other hand, Michel managed to overcome his fears and declare his love to Klan Klan after having successfully protected her. The worst that Michel has is chasing after other women in a non-permanent relationship manner.

It wouldn't matter as long as Yamato still can make stuff from Macross VFX2, as the Protect Armor for the VF-11 is in that game. I can't remember ever seeing a Brown VF-11. The dark grey VF-11B in Macross Plus, the CF white VF-11C, the Pink Peckers VF-11... And the VFX Ravens VF-11. Now the questions are: Does Yamato still have the Macross VFX2 license? And if Yamato did have the Macross VFX2 license, would they make the Protect Armor?

David Hingtgen makes a good point on the songs changing when you translate it and sing it in another language. Sound-wise, Voices was an admirable job at translating a song to English. Lyrics being translated... We have butchery of epic proportions. The old Pioneer stuff like Tenchi Muyo and El Hazard tried hard. I didn't really like their songs so much in English. The Tenchi TV series had the same singer singing both in Japanese and English, so that was pretty cool. Keep the Macross Frontier songs the way they are. Japanese, Engurishu, and whateverthehelllanguage that is in parts of Aimo. One of the problems of translating and singing these songs in another language is getting the same kind of talent and maximizing it. I've heard a lot of fan-sung songs, and they were pure crap. Could I do better? Probably not. Regardless, a lot of amateur stuff is crap. Try listening to some of those niconico video songs dubbed. Then you have professionally done crap, like Fire Bomber American... Damn you Lynn Kaifun!

Not all pilots are the same size anyway. Try swapping the pilots between the different 1/60 scale valkyries. Isamu will not sit in the YF-21, the VF-0 pilot won't fit either.

If you like fighter mode, the YF-21 fighter mode has a more anime accurate fighter mode than the YF-19. If you like battroid mode, I prefer the YF-19 battroid mode. It's not anime accurate, because it's sleeker, but I think it makes it look more badass. The YF-21 battroid mode is pretty cool, and the thing it has over the 19 is that it has a more solid battroid mode. 19 or 21, they're both good. I'm on the fence for the 1/60 VF-1 v2 until the VF-1A DYRL Max comes out. I'm also waiting to see how the shoulder-hinge situation turns out.
