  1. update: 1/72: 1 VF-11 1/60: 2 VF-1A Max (and my fiancée bought a VE-1 so I'll count hers too) 1/48: 3 VF-1A Max and Two Low Vizs Damn, the low viz is purty!
  2. Max keeps his glasses in place because he's a genius, as Mikimoto would put it (hell he's a genius at aging right?).

    1:48 VF-1J

I'm not a canon extremist, I just prefer my valks without the FAST-packs. They look sleeker.
  4. Oh geez, there seems to be a lot of that happening lately... Good luck on fixing it! I'd point you to Monkey Nugget, but I remember reading that he had said that Yamato stopped doing the spare parts thing (check the "Latest 1/48" thread).
  5. Wow, people here are getting ANGRY!!!! Obviously neither Hurin nor Goku-whateverthehell are gonna be able to convince each other of the other's pov. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly, then go find someone to hit. You'll feel better. Anyone hoping for a Max VF-1S by the way? Maybe a Minmay Guard First Edition (the pink one is fugly)? Kakizaki? VT-01C? Stampede (oh god the weight and size of that monster!!! )?
  6. I've ordered once from them too, and I'll be damned if I order anything from them again. So far it's taken about a month for my orders to come in, that's between confirmation and having to receive items back in stock (they should have something showing if the items are in stock or not). Plus, it shouldn't take an entire month to get some items back in stock when they should normally be available in Japan (some non-Macross items). Then I got butt-raped on duty fees, €45 x2 ($52 xtwo packages). At least when I ordered from Valkyrie Exchange I got my 1/48 no problem, box in great condition, and no duty fees. From now on I buy from Valkyrie Exchange and not HLJ. Hell, I could have bought my valks out here, overpriced as they are here in Paris, and saved money in comparison to what I had to pay in the end through HLJ. I scream at them: ANGRY!!
  7. Does it have Japanese language with English subtitles? I've been waiting to see that series in Japanese since I think around 1994-1995 when it was first released in the US (or was it 96-97?). I've only seen the dub, and I really want to see it with the original voices.
  8. Good points! I've noticed too that besides the complaints there's a lot of "victime syndrome". I'm fine with bitching about QC issues, but bitching for Yamato releasing something new doesn't make any sense to me. Hell, if they decided to make the VA-3 which I personally dislike, I wouldn't bitch about it. I wouldn't buy it, but hell if other people like it and will buy it, wtf is the problem? I'm thankful that Yamato's around making Valkyries! The alternative are vintage toys, Bandai re-releases, or that MPC crap. I'm waiting for new non-VF-1 valks, but I find it amusing to watch and see how far they can milk the VF-1 line. With all the customs they can do, the sky's the limit!
  9. Actually it's still possible to do another series with what happened to the Megaroad 01 despite Hikaru's voice actor being dead. Look at the brand new Saint Seiya Hades Arc. They bring this series out years after the original finished, and they had some voice actors die in that time period, so they simply replaced them. Besides didn't they get a new voice actor for Hikaru in the new Macross game on PS2? Just leaving it a mystery could be cool too though.
  10. I love SVC Chaos, I think it's much better than CVS. God the SNK side got screwed over in the first release, at least they evened things up in CVS 2. <_< I'm waiting for December, then its SVC for PS2! I would have prefered a dreamcast release, but oh well! <_< I don't like the fact that you can do a MAX DM only once per opponent (or was it per round?), but the super bar is kinda cool otherwise. Kyo's fun this year, a mix of 2001 and 2002. And of course Iori gets ANGRY!!
  11. In france, i ve seen an anime shop selling one at 200 € -> 234 US Dollar Yep, you read correctly. There is no thief, only ignorant customers. Here in Paris at Red Sun, they're selling the 1/48s for €270, that's $315! Gotta buy online here, or search really hard!

    vf-19 FP

My daily routine is to get up and turn on the computer, then check Yamato's website to see if there's any Macross updates. After that I check to see if the Macross World site has been updated, then I go here to the toy section of the forums and check for any new news on the Valkyries. Okay rather than putting your life in danger for pics, could you tell us how the Q-rau looks compared to the earlier sculpts we saw here in the forums? I can't wait to see the new YF-19 sculpt. I held out on the old release YF-19 after the VF-1s were first announced, in the hopes that they'd do a resculpt, and boy am I hoping that paid off!

Love your avatar pfunk! God I just broke down and got two low vizs! My fiancée just got herself an elintseeker, and I got my best friend a 1/60 VF-1S from Hobby Link Japan... but it was bend-over on customs fees! (my reaction was that of my avatar and quote) It was €90 for the two valks! That's $105! From now on I buy from Valkyrie Exchange and not from Hobby Link! Got my 1/48 Max from Valkyrie Exchange with no problems and really fast too! I held out on the 1/48 for soooo long, but I gave in and I'm damned happy with it!

    1/48 Line

Anyone remember this thing? http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/fun/eb...0_toycomvf4.htm I would so buy a 1/48 VF-4!!! Anyone up for upping the price on the Monster? How about a 1/32? You could live in it like a trailer!
  15. Hope everything works out Kanata. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say: We wish you the best of luck!
  16. G limits: YF-19: +31.0/-18.5 YF-21: +32.5/-17.2 VF-19F: +35.5, -19.5 VF-22: +60/-45 Gotten from the Macross compendium: http://macross.anime.net/mecha/index.html Now I don't know much about G-forces and all, but would I be wrong in guessing that the VF-22 can handle much more G forces than the prototype 21, and all the 19 models? If the 22 can handle more Gs, than its maneuverability is less limited than the 19 models and even the 21, right? So the 22 is potentially much more maneuverable than the 19. I think the 22 is the better fighter, see everyone's elses arguments as for why. But, damn the YF-19 and the VF-19A look cool! I agree with Radd. -Just a side note for Macross Plus fans In Macross Plus Movie Edition after the 21s arms and legs have been blown off and Guld is chasing down the Ghost, he starts blasting away at it with lasers. I think they messed up, since the only lasers that can fire forwards in Fighter mode were located in the arm portions of the valkyrie which already got blown off! Another thing is that supposedly Isamu lost his gunpod while fighting Guld, and when we see the underside of the 19 after Guld's final attack, we see that the 19 lacks its gunpod. However, later when the Ghost comes around, Isamu starts trying to gun it down with his magically appearing gunpod!
  17. Also be careful of the nipples on the cylinder, if they're messed up you could have some trouble when you fire the thing. And although this may be just common sense, but don't dry fire it, you can crack the nipples on the cylinder (the little knubs you put the percussion caps on). If you plan on going shooting with it once it's fixed up, careful to make sure that the bullets aren't getting jammed in the barrel. Once I was shooting a black powder revolver and I didn't realize the bullets were some how being wedged in the barrel. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing new bullet holes in the target, when I decided to check out the barrel. As it turns out I had four bullets jammed in there. Damn I was lucky the thing didn't blow up in my face! Good luck with yer new baby! If you got turned into StumpysRage, you'd probably ge roaming around looking like my avatar!
  18. There's a dub of Macross II the Movie by Manga and I think US Renditions. I'm not a fan of Macross II. To me none of the mecha look right (well they weren't designed by Kawamori). I don't love the valkyries in this one, but that's just personal taste, I know there's a lot of people out there who love em! Character design is Haruhiko Mikimoto. I liked the music, it has an early 90's-ish kind of feel, and I bought the soundtrack just for the opening song. The opening animation was directed by Masami Oobari (if you've watched Fatal Fury/Garou Densetsu, you'll see what I mean). As for story... Its alright, nothing outstanding or great. The whole reporter thing wasn't that great of an innovation in my not so humble opinion. Since I've never heard the original Japanese voices, I can't go screaming about how the dub sucks because the voices are all messed up. But, just on the basis of voice acting it was alright. It wasn't like the old Macross Movie dub (the Best Video corp release, completely unedited) where it sounded like English wasn't the first language of the dubbers. "A man aaand a wo-Man? Whats that?! A man aand a wo-Man!" Watch it if your bored, that's all I can suggest. When I first bought it I thought it was a waste of money, but it grew on me, and I occasionally watch it when I'm in the mood for something different, but still Macross.
  19. 1/72 = 1 1/60 = 1 1/48 = 1 (for now. Getting TWO Low Vizs in soon!!) Fast packs = ABSOLUTE ZER0
  20. Quality Check. Okay, I see what you mean. It's supposed ot do that. It enables the foot to lie flat to the ground while have the legs slightly spread. After all, you're defeating the purpose of the 1/48 if you keep it in a real rigid completely straight pose. Well its not that the foot can move that bothers me, its the fact that the inner portion of the leg at the ankle is bent outwards a bit. I think it's because the pegs for holding the foot along the interior slider aren't connected correctly. On the other leg it's basically a uniform straight line all the way down the interior leg. But, on the right leg it's bent outwards slightly, and I fear that it may get worn and break the leg open. God I love the 1/48 though!!
  21. I got a problem with my 1/48 Max. I just got it recently and noticed while transforming it to battroid that the right foot isnùt alligned properly or something. The foot slides down, but instead of one smooth motion, it comes down tilting left and right. The inner portion of the leg at the "ankle" is bent slightly outwards so that when you look up the leg, you can see the square peg that the foot uses to slide up and down the interior of the leg (on the normal leg you can only see a sliver of it). I thought maybe its badly alligned or something, but I can't figure out how to take apart that part of the leg... Anyone got any ideas? (I'll see if I can get a pic to show what I'm talking about) And just to know, what does "QC" mean? (already figured out CF, and FSW)
  22. Hi, another newbie to the forums here. I was looking around and found this on the Macross Official Homepage. I'm not sure if anyone's posted it in here before, and I honetly don't wanna go through all the posts on this topic. So here you go, an announcement from the Big West president on who owns the copyright for Macross. http://www.macross.co.jp/macross/contents/index.html (edit: forgot to post the link) Sorry if its already old news!
