  1. Do you press the hips in a lot to try to minimize the gap in fighter mode? I'm perplexed how this could happen too. Or has anyone else had access to your YF-19? Any friends that are Macross fans that might have played with it without asking?
  2. Quin, can you take a picture of what you're talking about? Maybe we can all wrap our heads around it and figure out what happened.
  3. The pic on the first page of this thread says more than a thousand words. The VF-4 is planned along with a bunch of other valkyries throughout the different Macross series. I've got mixed feelings on it until I see the final product, especially with the parts-swapping transformation on the VF-25.
  4. I'm kind of hoping we'll get a cannon fodder VF-25 or that Michel's will also come with a standard gunpod.
  5. Don't forget guys that Roy is a tall mother Focker! Of course he's going to be tall and stick ouf of the car.
  6. Another example of someone writing about stuff they know enough about to further a purpose, using (in this example) anime as a tool.
  7. Probably because I'm used to hearing/reading YF//VF, two letter designations sounds right, and three letter sounds off. Plus two letter is easier to remember, as there's one less thing to not forget.
  8. In terms of song duel, Sheryl is going to either snap Ranka out of it through Alto and the earring, or going to beat her a$@ down by singing Aimo. We've heard it in the eyecatch, but haven't heard her sing it in the series yet.
  9. If you think making Isamu an admiral would stop any trouble he could cause, you're dead wrong. Now he would be an admiral that insists on flying, and have the rank to pull his ass out of the fire (and why not, if Captain Max Genius can take matters into his own hands?).
  10. Lucca is a douchebag for stealing a kiss from a girl in a coma. At least he didn't pull a shinji on the other hand... May that have raised his death flag to its highest point, so that the reaper can take him.
  11. YF-21 style rear landing gear (wheel turns before stowing) could help make bigger vertical stabilizers, as there would be a bit more room to fit it in the leg. I do see what David Hingtgen means though, I hadn't considered that before.
  12. VF-27. It can take out a carrier with one shot, no missiles involved, that's more than any of the other valkries listed can do. It's like the SV-51 on steroids. I don't like the heads on either of them in battroid mode though. It helps that in fighter mode it makes me think of a cross between the SV-51 and a VF-4 or VF-14.
  13. Not as big as the lineart works for me, and so does "bigger than the ones on the original 1/72 toy". The compromises that Yamato used for the YF-19 make me like it more. I'm sure that I'll be pleased as a VF-11 fan. I just have my fingers crossed on the durability and that there be no problems or QC issues.
  14. And it turns out that Sheryl's father is one Aegis Focker. This episode was awesome. I think Alto bailed out while Klan was occupying Brera's attention. I'm waiting for "Kakizaki" to get blown away. Jaw dropped when Ai Oboeteimasu ka started up. And here I was expecting/hoping it would be Sheryl singing it leading the Frontier to victory. Oh well, maybe next episode. It was just amazing to hear this new version, which sounded good, unlike the craptastic one that Mylene sang. It was a nice switch. That song used in defense of a planet against the human invaders. The fleet barrage away from the planet. Here's to hoping that Brera gets shot down and dies next episode. And that Grace gets that really brutally nasty ending... Battle Frontier vs Battle Galaxy, with Macross Quarter and the SMS to come in and save the day! Hell maybe there'll be a second season, who knows? So exciting to be a Macross fan right now!!!
  15. On the old VF-11 toy true. If they go with the official transformation, then there is most definitely room for larger vertical stabilizers. They slide down toward the ankles and a hinge at the front of the stabilizers allows them to swing towards the knees to go into the leg.
  16. That would explain why the pic looked so funky, off, and wrong... I hope that's the case, and that the VF-11 is going to be even more awesome than wicked-awesome or awecore.
  17. The banpresto valk is meh. I won't touch any toynami made stuff on general principle (and because they're badly done). I'm curious to see what Bandai will put out with the 1/100 line. Other than that there's no other small/cheap transforming valkyrie toys.
  18. I'm not encouraged by the CAD, but then again I wasn't for the YF-19. Thought it looked fat, and messed up with off proportions. It looked and still looks great in 3D. I'll wait and see what comes of this. Nitpick time, because I looooooooove the VF-11. -The vertical stabilizers look too small. Have to wait and see how it looks as a prototype. -The length of the body appears too short. Could be a compromise I can live with if battroid looks good, and again it might not look so short in person. It also could be that in comparison to the large wings spread to maximum, that it looks too short.. -The nose seems just a bit too short, squat, and blunt. Not as bad as the old 1/72, but a bit too much for the 11. Especially if you look at line art even in battroid mode. I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised with the VF-11 when we see a prototype.
  19. If you check the model section (or was it fan works?), someone made a remote control fighter mode SV-51 that flies. It's pretty badass. So at least the SV-51 fighter mode is aeronautically feasible.
  20. Judging from the commercials for season 2, the location is probably the gas station at the end of The Terminator. Because one scene sure looked like it happened at that same gas station.
  21. Until we get specs on the VF-25 and VF-27, I wouldn't strongly argue either way whether the 25/27 is better than the 19/21/22. It also depends on the pilots. And I'm very curious what made the YF-24 not perform so well...
  22. It says that they will send news about new Macross series merchandise and 1/60 scale toys to fanclub members. From that silhouette your guess is as good as mine.
  23. Sorry for taking it off topic Graham! Man, I hope that Bandai has managed to make the shield collapse closer to the arm in battroid, and that they've fixed the hip location to make it look less squat in battroid.
  24. I like the Focker ultraviolent coating in pictures better than the Hikaru coating. Then again, what would really count is me seeing it in person. Pictures are nothing compared to the real deal in person.
  25. Interested in YF-24. Nice looking fighter. Interested in seeing gerwalk, but more importantly battroid. That would be one toy I'd want to get most likely.
