  1. No thanks....I'll just wait for orange FP's on a Bandai DX Super-O!
  2. How about a Blaupunkt?
  3. Wasn't planning on watching this, but looks like I can get a free 1 week trial to HBO Max with my current Hulu subscription.....guess I have no excuse now! https://www.hulu.com/hbomax
  4. I hope Bandai used metal. I imagine that KC must have taken apart a DX VF-1 to figure that specific joint, which essentially allows it to act as a scaled down DX. Unfortunately, the part on the KC is made of plastic and due to it's size, I can see why it would crumble with the pressure being applied if utilizing that specific joint. Without using that joint, I do not think there is any danger of it breaking. But if you do not use it, it basically is more of a Yamato V2, than a Bandai DX due it's posing limitations. As an update....I managed to glue the broken piece back together, however, the affected leg's "DX" abilities have ceased....I do not want to attempt to bend it for fear of it snapping apart again..... The good thing is that it still can do some extreme poses as the other leg is still able to bend outwards...though I think I will not use it too often going forward as I do not want to risk it breaking...... The other good news is that I contacted KC and they will be replacing the leg for me and will include it with the package containing my 1/12 Chinese Dress Minmay PO which they said will be shipping next month....so I'm really grateful for their continued excellent customer service!
  5. Which Mandalorian "Way" are you referring to?....apparently there are several and "followed" differently... And we never heard "This is the Way" until we met Din and his "sect" of Mandalorians.....sure, the last we saw of Din seems to imply that his "ways" may have softened....but is that for the long term? Will he renounce his "ways" when he is reunited with his covert again? Is he automatically already shunned based on his actions? How strict are his ways? Who knows....but based on the past...it seems like civil war is a Mandalorian past-time! Looking forward to what Season 3 brings us...
  6. LOL....your assessment is way off....in either case...it just says alot about the Sequel Trilogy in general
  7. The circumstances between both the old school and the new versions of the same toys are very different.....for the most part, the current prices for the old toys are now mostly based on nostalgia and diminishing availability of "mint" samples....however, the continual release of newer and better versions of the same toy has brought down the price of the older toys considerably.....today, the prices of new Macross VF-1 toys are mostly driven by the lower production run of these toys when compared to that of the older "DX VF-1" toys from Takatoku/Bandai during the 80's....for example, the original Takatoku 1/55 VF-1j is said to have had a total production run in excess of 1 million toys....I am pretty sure a typical Bandai DX VF-1 toy's production run is nowhere close to this amount....as a result, it's "market value" quickly escalates after release due to the high demand and insufficient supply, which eventually settles down within a year or so from release...
  8. Bandai acquired several of Takatoku's toy lines/molds when Takatoku went out of business....this happened very close to when the Macross DYRL film was scheduled to be released. As a result, the "first batch" of Bandai's Hi-Metal 1/55 VF-1S Hikaru Strike Valkyries and 1/55 VF-1A Hikaru Valkyries were repainted in DYRL schemes so they could be sold as DYRL Macross toys but they simply used existing Takatoku branded "parts" or probably entire 1/55 VF-1S's and Vf-1A's. The promotional display sign basically shows the "demo" that was used still displaying the "T.T." Takatoku logo....Bandai added the black stickers with their Bandai logo on the first batch of releases. Bandai eventually stamped the toys with a Bandai logo during a later production run.....as seen here.... If you have some time....these articles are very informative regarding the history of the original 1/55 VF-1 toys..... https://tamashii.jp/t_kokkaku/65/ https://tamashii.jp/t_kokkaku/64/
  9. Takatoku? Well....I guess from a "certain point of view" so did Bandai......
  10. The scene in TROS where Luke is training Leia was one of the highlights of the entire Sequel Trilogy.....I am glad the gimmick was used again to finally show us the Jedi Master Luke we all wanted to see in the ST....
  11. Yes, now is the time to start filling in those holes in collections before prices start going back up...again congrats on your new prize!
  12. No worries.....unless it officially gets cancelled...
  13. too many...
  14. OK, so looked into the issue a bit more.... The small piece that got stressed and broke definitely was one complete closed piece.... ....which means that even if I were to glue it together and it held....I would still need to remove the pin to position it back and then place the pin back.... If I cannot remove the pin, there is no way to really try and fix the leg permanently....I can possibly get the part replaced but it would still require breaking the pieces apart that hold that "Gerwalk" knee part as it is between the white outer leg parts which are glue in place.... I will try and remove the pin, if that proves to difficult, I will just leave it in fighter mode.....
  15. It has to be because I literally "set it and forgot it" since I last handled it 3 months ago I selected Gerwalk and sat it on KC's supplied stand...took it off the stand today and decided to transform it into fighter and that is when the piece/leg broke off... The concerning part is that it is the one joint that essentially sets it apart from the HM/HMR and Yamato/Arcadia and attempts to bring it into the "DX" range of poses....I am sure Bandai's plastics quality is much better, but it is something to consider when deciding to use that joint or perhaps leaving it in poses that engage this joint for a long time.... I am not sure I can even attempt to glue it without disassembling it...I cannot tell if the part was initially a full circle "o" attached to the pin on the hip/intake part of the leg or if it was more of a c-shape that allows it to be clipped onto it....if the piece was a closed "o"...then that means the pin was added after the "o" was positioned....this part is hidden on the other leg...it allows the leg to be pulled and bent into "Gerwalk" positions... I will look more into how I can possibly take it apart to attempt a good glue job
  16. Three month update........."The Tragedy" Well, it has been a little over three months of owning the V2.0 of the Kitz Concept 1/72 VF-1J.....sadly, I do not have good news to report.... My copy, which has sat untouched in Gerwalk mode on the supplied stand for the last 3 months, has had a fatal injury to it's leg....namely, the joint that allows it to "pose" (pun intended?) as a mini Bandai DX.... .....has broken! I will attempt to fix it using the usual "crazy glue" fix for this type of break, but I doubt it will hold....what broke is a small plastic "ring" that is attached to the lower portion of the leg that in turn attaches to the "hip" or intake portion....it is all that basically holds the entire leg together when extending that joint and when bending it for Gerwalk mode.... Fortunately, I can still display it in fighter mode, but I am afraid it's PT days are over..... Be careful if you own this toy, as that is a very weak point in it's construction.... The piece appears to be able to be disassembled, however, I will not attempt it...I am guessing someone with the skills can probably reproduce this part and perhaps make it stronger....I have not reached out to KC, but I will not hold my breath on a part replacement....I will think hard on my decision to continue to collect these....they look nice enough, but the engineering is obviously not well thought out or the materials are just poor... Anyways.....it still makes a good fighter display....but I think I will have a much better 1/72 fighter when Calibre Wings releases their VF-1J.....
  17. The low-viz is a great Yamato valk, but like much of the other "Yamato grails"...their market values have been falling for some time....I attribute it to lower demand due to the effects on international shipping prices from the pandemic.... Here is the most recent Low-Viz VF-1S that sold on YJA...you can convert to Euro price and add International Shipping to figure out the total cost to your door....pretty sure it will be either less than what you paid or right on target....either way it is a nice acquistion to any collection... https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c868632983 Welcome to the Yamato 1/60 Low-Viz VF-1S Owners Club!

    Here it is in action.....
  19. Dang...forgot about that....yes, they got the AMM-1 missile tip color right starting with the original HM VF-1J release... I wonder if anyone has busted out their paints and made TV-accurate AMM-1 missiles for their DX VF-1J? https://tamashii.jp/item/1301/ ...of course, they went back and screwed things up on their HMR DYRL GBP release......this time they went in the opposite direction and gave red-tipped missiles instead of yellow-tipped missiles....at least this time it was on a different missile type!
  20. The original "DYRL" Missile set included all the missiles needed to equip a DYRL type VF-1..... The TV Super VF-1 requires the red-tipped RMS-1 missiles.... ...so instead of releasing a separate set of missiles for TV VF-1 use...they just included them with the super parts set... ..technically, the AMM-1 missiles used on TV VF-1's should have red markings.... If you want correctly colored AMM-1 missiles you will have to settle for the smaller HM/HMR VF-1's.... Or as an alternative...you can pick up Kitz Concept's 1/72 TV VF-1J....
