I like the radar on this valk, the extra accessory adds to the play value and display quality. Plus it's not white so it won't yellow over time. Definitely going to keep my eye out for retail when the 15th comes. Didn't want to get this valk enough to pay the $180 price point.

I lowered the stress on the black shoulder "NUNS" triangle pieces by loosening the screw that keeps both halves together compressed on the metal shoulder joint. When I pose the arms, I try to just handle the metal armature only, and the shoulder covers just come along for the ride. Due to how the arms snap into place in fightermode, this causes stress on the triangle pieces also, but loosening the piece helps somewhat. I also ended up removing the swiveling shoulderlock triangle pieces and curved piece on the underside. Doesn't make much of a difference lookwise.

Yeah I tried, but the back spine was hard to pry off the back with the legs and backpack pushing it up against the body. Didn't have enough clearance to rotate the entire head and neck with my huge fingers. I'll try again when I have more time. Oh and just after one transformation those black triangle pieces underneath the exhausts that are supposed to unlock the shoulder pieces so they can rotate, they show stress cracks at the pins. So I removed them from the valk and stored them back in the box before they break.

Sheesh, I finally tried transforming mine tonight and I got pwned going from gerwalk to batroid!! At the point where the chest is made. . . couldn't pull the head up and couldn't get the cockpit out. Ended up being a floppy mess in my hands. Oh well, at least nothing was broken and the paintjob is flawless on mine. Eager to go at it again tomorrow with manual in one arm and youtube on the other. I love these complex transformations. Feels like I should get a reward at the end.

Did you happen to store it in your garage? Or somewhere else that is not climate controlled? Cyclic exposure to heat and then moisture is sure to damage a lot of things over time.

Well thats it. I'm canceling all of my preorders at NY. This shows real promise for getting the upcoming Bandais for retail.

Got it in the mail today. Am really scared to open it now. But I finally got a Bandai DX at retail so I can't complain.

I love my Rand. . . didn't want to pay the market value for the Bernard anyway. Transforming it is like handling a dead octopus. It's also a bit tough to get him off the armor due to the amount of tabbing. . . bike mode is badass though.

the right shoulder on mine is tight, the left one only one seems to latch. The other latch eventually pops off no matter how much I try to align and massage it. -
I am waiting to see what will happen on the RVF-25 release day. If all of a sudden stock appears at the 14000 yen pricepoint like the VF-171CF, then chances of getting a VF-27 closer to retail get higher.

I ordered a valk from HKC and it took a week from HK to my doorstep in Northern California. But ordering from Japan always takes a minimum 2 weeks. And Japan is 1000mi closer to the US than Hong Kong is. Still waiting for my CF as well.

I'm curious to see what other's pricepoint would be before they pull the trigger. I mean Amiami was 14000 yen. What's an extra 500 yen for going with NY.

I don't have mine yet, but all this talk reminds me of the clamor everyone has over Masterpiece Megatron. I love mine however. The bot and gun (alt) mode are too badass to let go. Same with the 171.

On my sneaker forum we buy shoes from the UK to the US all the time, I think others have been getting customs invoices if the declared value exceeds $250. That's why I try to keep my purchases below $200.

Well, they still have the VF-171CF and YF-29 in stock so there is a chance. But those aren't nearly as popular as the hero valk. Didn't want to take that risk so I PO'ed at the 21000 yen markup. I will feel a slight tinge of anger if they end up at Amiami for 14000 yen on release day. But I wanted to grab another one anyway. The real question is how much can I realistically expect to sell my v1 for. I'm hoping for $50.

The VF-19 transformation is satisfyingly complex, yet not frustrating at all at any time during the transformation. Nuff said. Only part I don't like is trying to get it to balance in gerwalk mode.

All of these ship pics make me want to bust out my Trek Hallmark ornament collection. But 1) too lazy to climb in the attic and get them and 2) don't want to get banned, LOL.
