In the game it was only ever operated within the atmosphere anyway so there wouldn't have been any need to develop fast packs for it.

Hands over the joygasm button...

Hmm, all of my renewal 25's and my one 29 all have nice tight thigh swivels and hold themselves up well (the hip joint is an altogether different story.) It's only the 171's with this issue.

That 25A is so bad-ass! I hope you can figure out how to modify the Tornado Packs for the 25A. I do believe one of the Macross games has a CF Tornado pack which might be able to provide inspiration for you. Would love to see an entire CF squadron. They look so much cooler than the actual squad in the show. I suddenly want another 25A and find some left over armor (which I'm sure will thrill those still hoping they'll get an Ozma and they can scrounge some of the armor up from somewhere.) Hmm, I just had an idea. If you could mod it slightly to keep the A/G head but put four cannons in a row on it you could have the squadron leader configuraton but when battroid it would look like a mohawk... or possibly a dumb robotic rooster. -
X-Men: Days of Future Past, in theaters May 23, 2014

So you're right, he is the lead most definitely. I'm hoping it's not going to be "Wolverine Centric" as it does seem to follow the relationship of Professor X and Magneto both young and old. Hopefully they won't squander Fassbender and McAvoy's chemistry from the previous movie. I still argue the previous movie was terrible because it didn't feature either of them nearly enough, they were the heart, and I hope they remain that way. That being said, it'll still be cool to see Wolverine tin-foil a Sentinel.- 329 replies

The X-men isn't about Mystique either, why is Jennifer Lawrence taking second spot? Two biggest actors/characters are the biggest ones on the poster.- 329 replies

I was thinking with the imminent arrival of the YF-19/Ozma 29/etc... it's kinda bad timing for all of us for one reason or another.

It's a 171 thread so I'm putting it here. The Thigh swivel on one of my Alto 171's is super loose and I'm having a hard time posing it in Gerwalk now. Has anybody had to tighten up that swivel spot on the 171 before?

Other then being the primary vehicle did everyone complaining about "too much Wolverine" not notice that except for a tiny bit of dialog almost the entire trailer is interaction between Xavier and Magnus? Wolverine might be in it but so far what they've shown is a lot of Magneto/Professor X interaction driving the story, as it should be.- 329 replies

My point is that they so closely resemble each other in fighter form and paint scheme that it's easy to confuse the YF-30 for being a "Frontier Valk."
-
Nah, I'm not. We have some pretty successful people on this message board. At least, I'm hoping there aren't a lot of people willing to go into debt for them. All I ask for are some fleet photos.
-
The 11, 17, 19 and 21/22 don't seem to back that statement up as they're all quite different from each other. Plus we know from the design books Kawamori is not above raiding/re-purposing his own designs for later use. I'm still willing to bet Kawamori liked the fighter design for the 24 but it wasn't in keeping with the VF-1 motif so he changed it to the 25 for production of the show. When they needed something new for Macross 30 he dusted off that 24 design, changed a bit of the transformation and that was it. It still looks an awful lot like that fighter mode.
-
I already said there were some differences in transformation, that doesn't change the fact fighter mode looks a TON like the YF-24 and I have no doubt the YF-30 began life as Kawamori playing around with a different way to make the 24 transform.

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Hmm, you might've sold me. I like some of those angles you took. How well do the arms move/pose in Gerwalk? -
None that we've seen or know of yet. There weren't any featured in the game, so as far as we know it doesn't. I still wish someone would have taken a shot from lower so we could see if the hard points are still on this thing.
-
There are blue Fold Crystals that will end up in the chest area in battroid.
-
I still thing with some minor adjustments the wings from the 30 could have folded against the back.
-
Waiting for a price drop is why Arcadia is no longer mass-producing these things.
-
While Kawamori made a great attempt to change the transformation of the YF-30 to be different from the 25 have you compared the lineart from the YF-24 to the YF-30? Other than moving the stabilizers out and back he pretty much re-purposed the YF-24 fighter mode as they look practically identical. The paint scheme so closely aping Alto's doesn't make a case for it not being Frontier either.
-
I'm very impressed with the number of YF-19's some of you have pre-ordered.
-
I was looking around online for more photos from this event. It doesn't seem like anybody else knows, or cares, about the Macross stuff on display.
-
Dull blue? Those scans have a tint to them. The Valk is a dark Charcoal Grey.
-
Take pics of your squad when they arrive.
-
Yeah, I was thinking back to the 171 issue too. But then I'd be in for three, I kind of wish I'd gone for three Alto's instead of that broken CF. Hopefully this new, untested, mold will be more reliable.
