  1. The movie was a much needed kick in the nuts of the SF movie genre. Unfortunately, Blomkamp has yet to surpass it, but I still love his stuff. Does anybody follow his Oats Studios releases?
  2. I see you built your own Death Star... http://www.taghobby.com/archives/275383
  3. While not 100% exact to the movie design, the details look better than on Weta's own miniature. I found an earlier iteration of this kit here: https://ifun01.com/BD5K4FH.html
  4. I hope the Deep Striker was the start of a new Sentinel MG line. See you in October.
  5. I just noticed that Kawamori's line art has the rear wheels even further to the front. The ventral fins are supposed to fold upwards, but the nacelle itself would still be an issue.
  6. In one scene, we see the father go through radio frequencies, implying that there's nobody out there. It also seems that the other survivors are going down, since there are no other fires when the kids are on top of the silo. It could also be that the supremacy of the creatures comes with other factors such as a very high replication rate as long the food supplies allow. Imagine human-sized cockroaches.
  7. As nice as the kit is, that landing gear deserves an upgrade. It also looks like you need to bring down the bird horizontally...
  8. Just saw this, it's really an experience of it's own. Not only an original concept, but also so well made, and great acting by everyone. The movie really keeps it's feet on the ground and draws you in with the relatable characters. And despite the ever-present silence, there is great sound design at work, and the music had me at the edge of my seat.
  9. I'd take one of the dutch demo team stripes over those tigers.
  10. New Revell kits I'm liking the trailer so far, but who designed the hardware for the movie? Lego?
  11. There are unfortunate parallels, but IMO IKG builds up to a more intense climax with the twist after the storm. Of course, the main character demands a lot of patience until then. Don't know how the movies handles it, but the "reveal" scene in the comic and the way it is presented totally blew me away.
  12. Some scathing reviews at IMDB. I guess the trailer raised the wrong expectations.
  13. I grabbed a bunch of Bandai's Gundam Decals for the MG Unicorn in 1/100 and 1/144, so I can go Katoki on my kits. The recent sheet for the RG Sinanju looks promising, too. For the Hamma, I painted the pieces with a darker color, and then highlighted the inner surfaces with the final color. It's a bit tricky to find a graduation that is noticeable, but doesn't jump you in the face. A little un-evenness in the application breaks up these huge plain surfaces nicely.
  14. Anubis, I like your color choice and shading, and the subtle use of decals. _ I really enjoyed building my first RE/100 kit. I love their interpretation of the original design, and you get a lot of plastic for your money. Built straight from the box with minor details added. And yes, I switched the front skirts because I think it looks cooler that way. More photos here
  15. Just finished that Big Bad Guy More photos here
  16. I'm not sure if Star Wars is a franchise that needs something original in the first place. But JJ gave us Lost, so I'm confident he'll find a deeply satisfying end to the current trilogy...
