We're getting off topic but it looks like the Bat-Shu from L-Gaim. I hope I'm wrong.

Those "01" markings on the wings and the "SDF-01B" markings on the tailfins are also seen on the old Musashiya kit. It's a Kawamori illustration so it's legit.

I could care less about the color of the feet. I'm more concerned with the overall sculpt of the fighter mode. Judging by the magazine pics, it looks off. Like it's too short or maybe the engine housing is a too big... Then again it could just be the photo angle... I'm still buying one though.
  4. Blood-C and Elfen Lied were far more graphic/disturbing than that one episode of Goblin Slayer.
  5. That doesn't really explain it. All of the Hurricane Live 2032/2033 music videos were also shot/edited in SD and they were included. The most likely answer is that AnimEgio couldn't acquire the rights for the footage. Either that or the master tape was missing/no longer usable.
  6. The Kickstarter BD release of BGC was quite nice. Just remember that this anime was made back in the late 1980's/early 1990's. So, don't expect 16:9 full screen. It's 4:3 pillarboxed. I can't really comment on the video quality as I'm no expert. But it looks pretty good to me. It looks as good as I remember watching it on AnimEigo's VHS release back in the day. Hurricane Live 2032/2033 and Holiday in Bali was included on the Kickstarter release. But the live-action bit of Oomori Kinuko singing Konya wa Hurricane was not included. Does anyone remember if it was ever included in past AnimEgo releases? I can't remember if it was ever part of a BGC release and I no longer have the old VHS, LD, or DVD releases to check.
  7. I saw the C-5M at the NY Airshow this weekend. However, I think the C-17 is one of the best looking cargo planes.
  8. The show seems to have very Western (ie. American Old West) theme so a German sounding title wouldn't be appropriate. I wonder if one of the episodes is going to be titled "Dogfight at the O.K. Corral".
  9. Interesting new anime coming in January. Title: 荒野のコトブキ飛行隊 (Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai) Kotobuki Squadron of the Wild (West?) Directed by Mizushima Tsutomu (Girls und Panzer) Tagline: 空戦が日常。(trans: aerial combat everyday)
  10. Painted prototype seen on their Facebook page https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/40860494_1006822956186425_6641298961913085952_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=7d4c7e006fb63981d36dd1f485c39379&oe=5C36F564 https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/40889462_1006822986186422_4373791220170752000_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=99514ee6abe2af9939701bd56ea69bd7&oe=5BEF589E

  12. This is what we really want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhgiiVddR5c
  13. The Calibre Wings Wolfpack release is not recommended. It was one of the first releases and had QC defects - mainly some bad file marks around the glove vanes. The Century Wings Tomcat is pretty good. However, when you compare it to the Calibre Wings Tomcat you might feel that it is not up to par. Also, no need to order it from Amiami. US retailers have it available for pre-order as well. https://www.flyingmule.com/products/CW-001626 http://www.aikensairplanes.com/f-14b-tomcat-usn-vf-103-jolly-rogers-aa101-uss-dwight-d-eisenhower-1998/ If you're OK with the Century Wings Tomcat and absolutely want a Wolfpacks Tomcat, then you could also opt for the Hobby Master version, whose mold is exactly the same as the Century Wings mold. https://www.flyingmule.com/products/HM-HA5220
  14. Definitely get the Ghostriders Tomcat. You won't regret it. It comes with the double Sidewinder load which makes it a bit unique. Here's mine:
  15. Just got this yesterday. Pylons were a bit of a pain to attach but nothing unusual for diecast aircraft models.
  16. Love the promo video. Replicates the original SDFM episode preview feel and even has Millia's VA doing the narration.
  17. I recently sold off all of my 1/60 VF-1s. I'm ready to start collecting these.
  18. I used to read it myself back in middle school. My friends and I would often play soccer and pretend to be like the characters in Captain Tsubasa.
  19. I would pre-order the entire team in a heartbeat if Bandai were to release them in the SH Figuarts line. Not so sure on this Evolution release of the God Phoenix. It looks a bit off. The seamline along the side also looks pretty bad. I have the Fewture/Art Storm releases of all of the vehicles and they all have wonderful sculpts.... only to be let down by sloppy ass paint work. orz
  20. VF-11MAXL would be my choice.
  21. Many land-based fighter jets have tailhooks for emergency use. They're not as robust as those on naval fighters though.
  22. Admittedly, the kit is a bit sparse on the details so I can understand where RTKF is coming from. But considering that this is a model of a fantasy jet seen oh so briefly in a direct-to-video anime, and something normally reserved for Wonderfest garage kit exclusives, I'm just glad that Wave released it as a styrene kit in a proper scale. Price-wise, yeah it is a tad expensive. Even the Wings of Honneamise Schira-Dow kits from PM Office A (a company I've never heard of) were 4500yen. That said, I'd like to believe that this kit sold like bonkers so that perhaps Hasegawa or even Bandai can be persuaded to release their own. But i'm not holding my breath. I purchased 2 of the Wave kits and hope to work on it sometime this year.
  23. I'd agree that a S-3 replacement is sorely needed. But the F-35s should be able handle the fleet defense mission if necessary. It's AESA radar and sensors networked with AEGIS is likely to be better in situational awareness than anything the navy had before in terms of fleet defense. F-35Cs are expected to have a 1100km combat radius and Super Hornets are expected to get conformal fuels which should bring the combat radius on par with the retired Tomcat.
  24. Plus, there's no current need for a fleet defender. The Cold War is over and the navy doesn't have to worry about waves of Soviet Backfire or Badger bombers firing AS-4 Kitchen or AS-6 Kingfish missiles at carrier battle groups.
  25. Calibre Wings' 1/72 scale diecast F-14 Tomcats have superb detail. I have 2 in my collection and they are head and shoulders above other diecast model manufacturers of the Tomcat. The head guy at Calibre is supposedly a stickler for accuracy so I'm excited for this.
