I'm in. This is pretty sexy

I recall that day. IMO, he already wanted to leave and resigned himself to a final parting shot. THe rest of the thread was just going through the motions.

Kinda bizarre that this thread should be updated just as I'm playing through Homeworld 2 for the second time. The progress looks quite extraordinary. I hate to say anything bad about your work, but I hope things get underway soon. Best of luck.

Thanks gents.

The Extended Edition of the film itself is only worth it as an exercise in editing. Aside from that, the original/theatrical release on DVD is fine. But here's the thing, both the Extended and Original/Theatrical versions are included in the new, Extended DVD set. So if you don't own it, you can't lose. Naturally, I'm a pretty big fan of Gladiator (and a Ridley Scott whore), so I own both

Just out of curiosity, how many episodes into LOST is the second season on television?
-
Well, I just spent the last week watching Lost on DVD from beginning to end. First time I've ever seen the series; a friend lent me the set and told me I HAD to watch it Must say, it's easily the best series I've watched since "24". Granted, I don't watch television, so comparing it to everything else currently on the air is impossible for a person like me. But I consider my praise for this series a bonus since I'm very critical of television in general. I like most of the characters on the series so far, with Jack, Sayid, Kate, Danielle, and Locke being my current favorites. The cast is really good, with many of the smaller roles adding a great deal of interest and excitment to the series. The humor is funny and the entire first season has some fantastic tension. Plus, how can anyone not like Delenn? I've read through the message boards at the IMDB and they have come up with some very interesting discussions/theories. I'm looking forward to more LOST real soon; too bad I'll have to wait for the DVDs

I find myself enjoying the scathing reviews of this film more than anything else. I doubt I'll enjoy the film. I have a friend who wants to see this film for god knows what reason, so I'll no doubt be in tow. I'll probably end up counting this flick as yet another reason for this year's floundering box office.

Question about the Project Super Nova competition.
Mr March replied to Loner's topic in Movies and TV Series
As an amatuer filmmaker, I can tell you that a throw away scene like that is meant to visually communicate to the audience a message they will understand quickly, without going into dialogue or exposition. The scene lasts only moments, the attention of the audience is focused on a specific detail of the scene using light and color to emphasize the important details, the visual message is sent, and the scene ends. In the case of Macross Plus, the scene in question is meant to tell the audience visually that the YF-19 is doing better than the YF-21 in the Super Nova Competition. The director wants this transition scene to help visually move the story along in the direction of the script. It's also a setup for tension between characters, indicating that the competition is well underway, results are starting to indicate an outcome, and the stakes are getting higher. As a result of this conflict, characters will take actions in response...possibly drastic action. Thus the story creates drama. Whether the YF-19's success is due to superior product, superior pilot, or any number of factors is left up to individual viewer interpretation. -
Tthe Bond films are nothing worth jumping up and down about, but it's always concerning when they take the films in a new direction. The franchise - like so many these days - has been done to death. This is not to say I don't enjoy my fair share of Bond flicks, but IMO Goldeneye was the last film I recall enjoying. Martin Campbell being attached to the film is a good start and the powers that be could do a lot worse than Daniel Craig. However, my concern lies in the pattern being created. Campbell and Craig are safe choices and quite honestly, those running the franchise are teaming these two in the hopes that what came of Goldeneye (new director with a flair for old action hero reinvention and a new, promising face for Bond) can be duplicated with another fresh start. It's committee, money motivated movie making which very rarely leads to anything creative and innovative...something the series needs in spades. Going back to a classic Bond beginning is probably a good idea at this point in the franchise's life. I'll grant the people involved credit for at least an attempt to put a proven director behind the camera, a honestly talented face in front, and a genuine attempt to build from a solid story on the page. I hope it all works out, cause I know I'm craving another good Bond ball.

I like the detailed cockpit. Looking good!

There's an Ewelin that plays Counter-Strike: Source. I wonder...

Show off your coolest non-Macross toys & models
Mr March replied to danth's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, I hope "mecha' is generic enough to include stuff from non-anime series.- 80 replies

We have new missile model designations!
Mr March replied to nanashino's topic in Movies and TV Series
Cool stuff. Always good to see some stills from Macross Zero. Usually, a lot of the scenes move so fast it's hard to see some of the finer details. -
... and Carnies... small hands. 336101[/snapback] smell like cabbage

I'm sure the commercial would have been worth the watch, but the stupid commentary and annoying presentation just reminds me why I don't get my news from television. Too much bs. If I want all this so-called witty, sensationalized delivery, I'll watch a movie.

The voices for Minmay and Hikaru are actually quite good, but Roy's voice doesn't fit. Still, a very good fan made work and much better than you know what.

I just saw the movie tonight and loved it. I was going to add a lengthy review to this thread, but it's clearly pants in here. I'll post a review in it's own thread when I have time. Regardless, my vote is in for this movie. Fun and entertaining sci-fi.

Gawd, what a memory

There's a behind the scenes still gallery, but as I've yet to go through all the special features (just got the DVD yesterday after work), I can't comment on what is included.

I vaguely remember SkullOne. He was okay I thought. Maybe I'm mistaking him for another long lost member.
-
Yeah, the DVD has been released since early September this year, but I just came across it on the new release section at one of my local independant movie rental stores. I try to watch all the new DVD releases, but every once in a while a film I've been waiting for slips by

The Prologue to the film (played right after the opening credits) is narrated by Cynthia Leake. A brief written introduction comes on screen, followed by a series of stillframe lineart, setting a time for the story in a roughly prehistoric era and depicting the history of the Juliana, the raising of Nekron, and the war to date. Then the animated film starts.

Seems like only the main program - "Painting With Fire" - is included on the extras disk (along with the Director & Producer Commentary track). None of the extras included in the 2-Disc Painting With Fire DVD are advertised. Amazon has a good breakdown of the features on the DVD releases of Fire & Ice and Painting With Fire. Ah Agent ONE, how could I guess you'd love this kind of film JsARCLIGHT I remember well the old Bakshi-animated Lord of The Rings. I very much enjoyed that film and was sad to see the whole project canned by bad decisions of behalf of United Artists. While it's a very abbreviated version of the books, the animation, editing, voice acting, and soundtrack were all well done. Visually, the film is a lot of fun to watch.
