  1. I agree the 29 owns all over the 30 IMHO
  2. My wallet is cringing at this, but my display cabinet is waiting with open arms....
  3. It's kinda like DYRL SDF-1 and TV SDF-1 had a drunken night together and THIS is the result!
  4. I think I would want that Fold Booster in any other color other than that HIDEOUS pink!
  5. Bandai's got to be waiting on Delta to come out and feature the 30 with many different schemes and middle part swap out boxes, or radar dishes or something. At least I guess that's what they are doing with the 30...
  6. yes! that's what my mind's eye couldn't see -- the curved parts under the main gun! They're not there! LAME! I mean how hard could it have been for Hasagawa to start with the old Imai kit and improve on it? I still think it's proportions are pretty darn accurate to the line art - especially for the 80's!
  7. hmm...well, after looking at all the pictures, I don't know. In some shots it looks ok, in others, not so much. ohh well, it will be a fun build either way! It's the first TV SDF-1 in 30 + years..how can you NOT build it right???
  8. I have to agree with the above thoughts--It wasn't all I was hoping for..it just looks...off somehow. Think I'll be building my old 80's kit first and maybe build this later or just sell it.
  9. I'm gonna have a 20 foot tall pile of Bandai SW kits to build soon.......
  10. what is that Jefuemon? It looks cool!
  11. Oh yes....that works!
  12. Great pic! Put Brera next to Grace on that mat and give me an awesome new background pic!
  13. Wow. Sorry to hear about your guys issues with the new Valk. When's someone gonna call out Arcadia as to what they really are? Overpriced, poorly engineered, not accurately painted, and lack of tampo printing IMHO makes these guys not even be on my radar anymore. I know they have their supporters here, but I'm sorry, I'm out until I see major changes. I was thinking about this today, I mean what have they actually released that isn't a direct copy of Yamato Ver 2 VF-1's OR had serious issues with joints, inaccurate paint jobs and sever lack of tampo. The answer is nothing! I'm on the Bandai train myself. Are they as good now as Yamato was before? Debatable. Glad I was around in the golden years of Yamato.
  14. LOVE your attitude! Good one.
  15. .....and one buys these mats where exactly??? Cause that's freakin awesome!
  16. and here we go! One wing engine part doesn't quite stay down as far as the other, it springs back up slightly. no biggie really. Other than that perfect!
  17. Great build! Can't wait to see this in 1/60 next to the 19 and 21!
  18. I was actually about to just hold the buzzer down like a real ass and wait and see if they would come and then bitch them out when they did....thankfully someone came.
  19. After 15 minutes of ringing the bell and banging on the "Quick Service Door" at the post office this morning, a lady FINALLY opened up the door and got me my 27 Grace! Got a date tonight, but can't wait to get home and play with Grace! ohh wait...
  20. Here's three pics I found on the net. The first two are from a build here I believe and this is the color scheme I used for painting. The 3rd is just a cool modified kit.
  21. Well the first thing you need to understand is the difference between the different kinds of paint that are available for painting models. Mainly you want to stick to acrylic and enamel paint. Some people swear by acrylic and others like enamels. I stick with Tamiya acrylics and Testors Model Master for enamels. If you look around on Google you can easily find paint charts for each brand of paint. There's really no 100% accurate painting guide for Macross kits, that's kind of the fun of them. We try things until we get something we like and go with it.
  22. If you have a local hobby shop, you should go there first and get to know the staff. They will hopefully be nice and helpful. If you don't have access to a local hobby shop, Hobby Lobby is a national chain and depending on which store you go to, most have a decent selection of model making supplies. If you need online stores, I prefer Hobbylinc.com or Mega Hobby. Take some time and look through the workbench thread here, lots of good guys around here and LOTS of talent.
  23. Holy Frack! That's absolutely gorgeous!
