In Universe the Enterprise is a prize as well, Everyone and their uncle wants to be the Captain of a Constitution class. It is considered a prestige posting.

The visuals are great (as to be expected). I'll keep up with Gubaba's synopsis as they come out and hope that in a few years a translated version is released in the West. Of course it first has to be completed this time and that is no guarantee either.

Ever since the MST3K riffing on Gamera I have been a fan. Even of the non-riffed version. I loved the Mothra and Rodan movies as a kid though, so hard to choose...

I was toying with watching Discovery till I saw that trailer. The little "joke" at the end and "The power of math" bits are infantile

Star Trek's timeline and our real timeline diverged in the late sixties - it is much cleaner to think of it that way.

I tried Google's phone app and it came up with some interesting, and obviously entirely wrong, translations - even though it highlighted the Kanji characters correctly before trying to translate. Looks like this is still some ways off from being workable.

Just to be clear, I don't want the text to be put into a text bubble and reprinted or anything, just checking to see if there was any tool out there that found and translated text in an image. I'll have to give the phone app a try with the web page.

Does anyone know if there is a site that does scanlation translations of pictures on other web sites? I know that Japanese to English translations are often rough at best but some indication of what is going on would be helpful. I have an image translation tool on my phone that works but the small screen size would be a nightmare for a web comic image.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dynaman replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'll add a little to Tking22's answer. They are back because of this fan at least. Although on Disney's streaming service it may be a while before I see it.- 1217 replies

A new trailer, I think, for the series. Not really a lot to go on. Certainly better than the teaser trailer I saw a couple days ago where the doctor seemed to have the power to make food reappear.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dynaman replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Excellent, that last "season" of CW was, well, excellent. I'm wondering how many episodes this is planned to be? A single season perhaps? I'm certain they are also going to use it to tie together CW, Rebels, and the new show as well.- 1217 replies

Is that really the cover? When did Claudia get her original hairstyle back? And Lisa looks like Lisa too.

There was something bothering me, just a little, about that trailer and now I figured it out. For the first time Stranger Things started to slightly Parody the eighties rather than try to faithfully recreate it. I'm guessing it was just for the cheesy commercial and will not be part of the next season - parody would kill the mood of the show.

They have the eighties mall scarily correct. Though they did go a little overboard. Scarier is how well they replicated a cheesy local station commercial.

Not having seen a lick of it yet I wouldn't be surprised if the mass use of WMGs is going to have some kind of consequence for all involved. IIRC Starsha's people in this version wiped themselves out due to use of WMGs.

Disney or Comcast buys Fox or Fox wants to sell to someone

Not if you have competitors, which they still will. Comcast getting it would be a lot closer to one. -

It is not the same thing. AT&T and Time Warner are a content creation company and a distribution company. Disney would be one content creation company buying another content creation company, and there are still plenty of competitors. -
No - just the latest "chapter" (or whatever it is called) on the website they are releasing it on.

Lotsa talking heads in this issue, I do wish it was available in an English version. Yeah I know the gist of the story already but if they throw a curveball I would not know what is going on.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Dynaman replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
> What? you guys don't like Luke drinking purple titty milk? How xenophobic.... All milk, though not purple, is "titty" milk when you come down to it... (well maybe not that soy stuff but I don't consider that milk anyway). As for the next show, I passed on Delta when I heard the fan reviews and that it was more like 7 then Frontier or SDFM. I'm hoping this new shows goes in a different direction. I may also watch Delta in a few years too depending on how licensing goes. -
I'd say start with the original, I watched the US version as a kid (hiding behind the chair), but it has not aged well. The monsters have zippers and wear slippers a number of times. I saw a bit of a series from the nineties I'm guessing (from the bad CGI) and it was not much better. Sometimes growing up is a bummer. Off topic - but this reminds me it is time to search Youtube for Johnny Socko and his Flying Robot, Ultraman, Space Giants, and Dynaman (USA up all night version) vids again.

The only way I know Shazam is from the old Saturday Morning TV show. The DC universe could use a bit of that Shazam, lighthearted fun is needed in that universe.
