I actually really like the design of the bare VF-31, but I'm not sold on the Super Pack design and am quite worried about how they will attach to the toy.

I bet Bandai's toy and model designers are cursing Kawamori for just adding a mid-fin hinge to the tail fins that wasn't there before. That's gonna make the toy more complex and fragile. I mean, OK the toy designers probably got wind of it a while before episode 6 aired, but I imagine it could be what's delaying any new pics of the toy, as Bandai may have had to rework the 31 toy design to change the tail fins and maybe other parts of the toy to accommodate the Super Pack designs, depending on how long ago or how recently Kawmori finalised the Super Pack designs and released them to Bandai's designers. Also, not sure how secure and stable those Super Pack boosters are gonna be if they just clip onto the top of the folded tail fins along with what looks like a peg clipping into the leading edge of the wing root. I definitely can imagine the mid-fin hinge being stressed easily. Graham
  3. Too long ago, can't remember episode 14 of Frontier, but VF-171s store their gunpod externally on the underside of the VF like the VF-1, not internally in the leg like the VF-17
  4. It's definitely the same beamgunpod as mounted on the standard pod. All the details are exactly the same. So the questions now are: 1) When they are using the projection pod in the deployed position, how exactly does the beamgunpod attach to the bottom of fighter mode? 2) when using the deployed projection pod and transforming to Battroid or Gerwalk mode, where is the beamgunpod stowed if not handheld? Maybe it can only be handheld when in Battroid and Gerwalk modes if the projection pod is mounted. But perhaps not all members of Delta chose to use it? Graham
  5. I'll have to rewatch, but I think we only see two VF-31A destroyed onscreen. Was referring to Alpha & Beta platoon VF-31A deaths only, not CF-171s. Hmm interesting, that's definitely the beamgunpod there on that 31
  6. Still going through the episode frame by frame trying to see where Mirage got the beamgun pod from or whether she actually had it mounted somewhere on her VF-31. I really hope it wasn't an animation error. Wondering what the size of Alpha & Beta platoons is and how any of them actually got destroyed by the Aerial Knights? I think we only see two onscreen deaths, Alpha 01 and maybe one other IIRC.
  7. My view on the VF Master Files books, is that they are full of nice pretty pictures, which are great to look at, but any written information, unless taken from an official source is nothing more than unofficial fanfic. So personally, I tend to ignore them as a source of info.
  8. Given the Windermerian's extreme physical ability, they probably don't need it (or don't feel they need it).

Yeah, I was also thinking they may be a more offensive type.

Technically, the Super Packs first appeared on Chuck's VF-31E shown from a distance in eps 0.89 & 1
  11. Haven't seen the episode yet, will watch the sub tonight. But a couple of questions:
  12. Ok, so I'm confused now. Will the markings on the Delta kits be already printed on, or will they be decals that we need to apply ourselves......urghhh. I was originally under the impression that all the markings came printed on, which was one of the main reason I pre-ordered them. If they are decals that we need to apply ourselves, I may cancel my pre-order. I thought these were supposed to be pre-painted and pre-marked kits for people who either lack skill or are too lazy to paint and decal (I'm both )
  13. Counting 12 multi-drones in the left side nacelle and 13 multi-drones in the right side nacelle (as viewed from the rear).
  14. The 31 has three micro-missile launcher ports in each lower leg. So for armament that we know of there is: · 2 x shell firing arm cannons. · 6 x micro-missile launchers (3 per leg). · 1 or 2 head lasers (depending on variant). · 1 x beam(?) cannon mounted on weapons pod (detachable for use as handheld gunpod). · 4 x wing hardpoint stations (2 per wing). · 1 or 2(?) folding knives (mounted in arm shields).
  15. That makes sense. I was misinterpreting what I saw.
  16. Just wondering why Hayate turned the AC hotter? There was no mention in the subtitles by either character of the cockpit being cold.
  17. There's at least one stick in the back. See right side of attached screen shot).

Definitely more excited for the 31.
