I think the only way to get a VF-17 that looks lineart/anime accurate in all three modes will be if Bandai makes a model kit of it in the HG Shortcut Change model kit line, with swabable chunky lower legs.
-
But, to be fair, so far the revival VF-171EX is holding up OK, with no issues.

Yeah, so checking the pics more carefully, it looks like they are reusing a lot of VF-171 parts. As a result, there's a lot of things that are not lineart correct for the VF-17. It's missing the VF-17's dual micro-misille launchers on each shoulder. It's got incorrect VF-171 dual micro-missile ports on the inside of each lower leg. Lower legs are way too skinny. I'm sure there are other areas that are not lineart correct also.

Way too skinny in Battroid mode. Looks like it's optimised for Fighter mode. But as the VF-17 is one of my all-time favourite designs (it was my top favourite for decades), I'm in, will be buying.

Hope it's not game over for Arcadia.

By the way, does anybody know what the yellow array on the TREAD is supposed to be? Is it a sensor array? Beam guns? Missile launcher?

I'm only really a fan of the original 82 movie. I didn't really enjoy Legacy to be honest. So for Ares, I think I'll wait until it's on D+ before watching it.

Hmm.........IIRC, isn't the HMR VF-19P out at the end of this month?

I'm guessing KC don't have a prototype sculpt yet, so just took the Bandai HMR and photoshopped the colors for their website pic. 😅

Miami Vice is still to this day my favorite (non-anime) TV series. Just actually rewatching it again at the moment and currently half way through season 3. I actually quite disliked the Colin Farrel & Jamie Foxx movie though. Not sure we need another movie, but I guess it's cool that they are setting it in the 80s.

Yeah, I guess they have just used a recolored Bandai Spartan for their pre-order page. All the panel lines, markings etc are identical.

Yay, managed to score the Sentinel Tlead last night.

Just wondering if anybody knows why Tenjin is no longer doing the box art for Hasegawa Macross kits? Did Tenjin get too expensive, so that Hasegawa went with other artists? Or Hasegawa just decided to switch it up and try someone different? Or Tenjin finally got bored with doing Macross box art? Or Tenjin is just too busy these days with other projects? Anybody know?

My new Sentinel Legioss reissue doesn't have the flap issue. But one of the tail fins can get knocked off quite easily in fighter mode. As mentioned, the only other issue I have with mine is loose ankle joints in Diver mode and very tight thigh extension and hip joints during my first and only transformation so far. 😅

I think they have added some more pics of the toy to the official site. https://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tsparkofficial/toyrise/legioss/

I just picked up the recent Sentinel Legioss Eta reissue and damn it was hard to transform, due to multiple super tight joints in the legs and hips. I transformed it from Fighter to Diver to Soldier mode in one session and it's now going to stay in Soldier mode forever, I'm not going to dare to transform it again for fear of breaking something. I admit to having very little experience with the Sentinel Legioss toys, I picked up a green one 2 to 3 years ago and promptly snapped one of the hip joints on the first transformation attempt. I was trying to follow the somewhat incomprehensible (at least to me) instruction manual pics. I neglected to watch any transformation videos at that time.........my bad. 😅 This time I actually watched the Scorched Earth Toys Transformation video, which helped a lot, although unlike in the video, the thighs on mine were super tight to extend. I thought I was gonna break the toy while trying to extend them. Also, even after watching and pausing the video multiple times, I could not figure out the correct hip bar position for Diver mode. I managed to get it into Diver mode eventually, but still think I didn't get the hip joints correct. I'm super wary about the hips on these toys, due to my above-mentioned previous bad experience with the green Legioss. I was however able to follow the video to get the hip bars in the correct position for soldier mode.😅 My only other complaint about the toy is that the ankles on mine are super loose (the only loose joints on the toy). It kept wanting to tip forward in Diver mode due to the loose ankles. I've recently been getting back into Mospeada and decided to get the Sentinel Legioss Eta to scratch my legioss itch as I didn't have any Legioss toys and although I've pre-ordered the Pose+ and the Takara Toyrise versions, they won't be released until 2026.

I agree. The price point and size is just right for me and will make it easier to afford multiples, while also being easier on shelf space. I personally really like the look of Legioss Omega toy in all 3 modes. I don't mind that these are a bit more toy like. I think they are gonna be fun little toys to play with, transform and pose and the 3mm hardpoints all over the toys should create some interesting options for attaching weapons. And I'm super looking foward to Takara Toyrise releasing other versions as will as TLEADs.
