Looks good in the pics. But no pilot figure!!!!!!!!!!! Graham -
Heh, I have zero understanding of anything financial, even trying to read Jenius's "simple" explanation in the post above, my brain zones out and goes all Homer Simpson on me after reading the first sentence. Hmm........donuts! As for D Unit's post (several post's above), trying to understand it nearly made my brain melt down. To me a hedge fund is where you hide your money in the garden hedge, instead of under the matress! Graham (the financial idiot)

Yeah, it was announced a few months ago that the RVF-25 and VF-25G would have coupons for the accessory sets. Didn't know about the price difference through. Graham -

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.4
Graham replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Just wondering how everyone is planning on displaying their DX toys? For me, it will probably be like this: - RVF-25 - Fighter mode all the time on display stand, without Super Packs. Looks better without the Super Packs IMO. VF-25G - In Battroid mode all the time, in aiming pose, probably with Super Packs. VF-25F - Will probably switch display periodically between Battroid and Fighter modes, most likely with Super packs. VF-25S - Will probably display this without the super Packs (waiting for the Armored Pack) and will switch between Fighter and Gerwalk modes. Graham -

Be sure to post as soon as anybody gets a shipping note from HLJ or other suppliers. Graham -
I'm the oppoosite, never really liked the the VF-1D head, but like seeing the two seat cockpit, so mine will be staying in either Fighter or Gerwalk mode. Graham

Yes, regular fold boosters look different from the super ones. Alto uses a regular booster when he escorts Sheryl to Galia IV. Michael user a super to get to Galia IV. Watch the eps to see the difference. -

Not really a Mazinger fan, but my 4 1/2 year old is a big fan of the original Mazinger / Great Mazinger TV series. He'll be excited by a new cartoon, especially if it gets dubbed into English. Graham

Interesting letter from an Australian MP (Member of Parliament), regarding the US's refusal to sell the F-22 to trusted allies and the possible cancellation of the F-22 by the Obama administration (which I hadn't heard about). Graham

Plan to buy lots. Price is OK and the footprint is smaller than the regular Yamato stand. Important to me as display space is limited. Graham

Touch wood my job is OK. I sell law enforcement equipment to various government agencies here in Asia and if anything crime and the demand for the stuff I sell is likely to increase in the present financial crisis. Likewise my wife is a civil servant, so her job is (touch wood) secure. Still, just to be prudent, I'm trying to save more and cutting down my collecting by just buying one of each item I want, rather than multiples like I would buy in the past. I'm also cutting out buying non-canon repaints. Too expensive and no space to display them anyway. I'm also confining my purchases to Macross only, no other franchises at all. Graham

Nice fan design, but really "Vespa"!? Not sure naming a VF after an Italian motor scooter is such a good choice. Graham -

The more I look at the 1/100 VF-19Kai pic, the more convinced I am that it is going to have just as much, if not even more parts swapping than the 1/100 VF-25. On The VF-19Kai it looks like the whole torso and groin will have to be swapped out. I suspect also that possibly the head, tail fins and possibly shoulders may also need to be swapped. Looks like only the legs and arms may be common between versions. Hope that Bandai will utilise the molds to give us a VF-19F/S/P. Graham -

That all refers to option parts for the VF-25. The Super Fold booster was the prototype one developed by LAI Corp, that Michael used to get to Galia IV super fast. IIRC It's 10 times faster than a regular fold booster & ignores fold faults. -
Variable Fighter Master File VF-1 Valkyrie Vol. 1

Given the publisher and the price, I'm wondering if this is going to be one of those glossy photo books that focusses on all the varous VF-1 toys and models produced since 1982 and not actually a tech spec/lineart book. Graham -
Wonder if they will make a squishable Gilliam version, that you can fill with ketchup or red dye so when you squeeze it in your hand the red dye or ketchup squirts out. Graham
-
Yes it is. Just like all other V2 1/60 VF-1. Graham

Heh, really seems a lot of fans can't accept that the 19 & 21/22 are no longer the latest and greatest. Graham -
I find the above question and answer very interesting. I've always thought that given the sheer number of VFs in an average colony fleet (thousands of VFs), changing to a new model must be quite a long, slow process. Not only do you actually have manufacturer the new VFs, but you also need to do conversion training for all your pilots. Likely, new VFs are introduced as attrition replacements, except in time of war against a superior enemy, when production of the new model is likely fast-tracked. Kawamori's answer is telling, in that I read ithe "probably some fleets out there that are still using the VF-19s" as implying that the VF-19 is considered quite an old model (as it should be as it's a near 20 year old design) and only a few "some" fleets are still using it.
