  1. this stuff.... whoa whoa yeahhhhhh...
  2. not sure if this has been posted, yet, but collectiondx has their review up already: http://www.collectiondx.com/review/chogokin/macross_quarter
  3. lol! seriously! Did Kawamori really actually drew those hideous "things" on the Blazer's shoulders? WTF SHOJI!?
  4. yeah. you said it, dude! I, for one, also can't help it that when we talk about VF-1 aircraft with "skull + crossbones" here in MacrossWorld, I think about Donald Duck and his nephews on a pirate ship. wait, what?
  5. ^^ that, or they just keep reading Pete's incessant whining. or both.
  6. Yet you are the one who keeps including the term "innovation" in your posts. As Montoya would say, I do not think it means what you think it means. seriously, dude. it's ok if you like the kibbles on the ROTFs. just try not to justify it too much. trying to compare it to a Valk is a complete shenanigan. maybe try to compare it with the other TFs instead, no? Like ROTF-jets vs MP SScream/Skywarp.
  7. yet, the Valk IS a realistic fighter jet whereas the TF are not. The VF concept does not change because the design concept was solid, quite aesthetically pretty, and made sense. Regardless of your own redefinition of "kibble", it does not change the fact that the designs of the kibble in the TF jerts are ugly and really serves no purpose other than, well, being unnecessary weight, an aerodynamic drag and a damn design failure to hide the bot-side. Using the term "innovation" in your case regarding the TF jet design and engineering just simply means a fantasy excuse for botching it the first time and continued asshattery to botch it every time. Don't get us wrong. I think 99% of us here loves the TF designs on the land vehicles, whether they're G1s or ROTFs. Including the kibbles on these land vehicles. It's just the jet-designs of the ROTFs are simply atrocious in either bot-mode or jet-mode or both. All the while, the G1 MP-seekers are much nicer.
  8. I saw both Mindwipe and HA-Barricade of the ROTF early today at the local wally's. The $20 Mindwipe's not that bad, actually. His jet-mode (F-117) was pretty kewl and aesthetically impressive. His underside kibble was almost non-existent, as compared to SScream and Jetfire. The bot-mode wasn't that bad, either. I was really tempted to get him. If only he was $15 or less. HA-Barricade's nice in car-mode. Still look sucky in bot-mode. No issue passing on him.
  9. but don't you need a long drawn out essay on why you like apples? Please post only if you have an informed opinion. It's clear that you have a very limited if nonexistent experience in jumbo shrimp collecting. I'm looking for opinions from people who can actually compare by experience (and not only with just apples and jumbo shrimp but also other lines of lobsters).
  10. despite the sucky shipping-cost, nora r0x! pity that there's no Cheyenne, but here's Nora swooping in...
  11. honestly, dude. The old JoyRide MadCat-II figure has got significant diecast, mini-pilot, canopy-door, and stickers. Not to mention swiveling and other articulations to make some damn nice poses. All for $20 back in '03. Even the DIY-version of it was $20. I'm not sayin', but I'm just sayin'.
  12. that's it? no accessories? no gimmicks other than ball-jointed cannons? how much is this again? edit: $25 msrp for this? srsly?!
  13. so I saw Bludgeon today and I just wasn't convinced that he's worth the $20 wally's is asking for him. maybe $7. definitely not worth more than $10. :sigh: anyway, there's also BeachComber and some forklift guy on the ROTF two-fer. BeachComber was a bit interesting, tho. A repaint of DuneRunner, but seems to be just compatible with the Classics. Just kinda weird he's got dual triple-barrels for such a laid-back G1 character. the forklift-dude was meh. nothing else on the TF aisle except those moronic SW-TF crossovers. guess i'll just have to wait for Peg and Thrust, and those new combiners.
  14. Good grief! Even with the Revy's fugliness, the Toynami's even MORE FUGLY THAN EVER! At least in Battroid-mode.
  15. heads up if you're going to your local Wally's! First off, the Season-2-vol-2 is out now for $20. Second, MP-Skywarp is down to $50 retail/in-store. You might have to check the backrows, as that's where I found them accidentally while browsing around.
  16. At that time, the three local wally's here didn't have any in stock to pick it up from. That's why I missed out on the online-sale.
  17. well, the box states "Hikaru Ichijo" so it's automatically the TV-version instead of the DYRL-version since Hikkie never operated a 1J nor a GBP in DYRL.
  18. tough to say. it was a sticker-shock at $60 at first. there were plenty on the shelves on the first week. then afterwards (second week and beyond), it was all gone from the three wally's I go to. I couldn't find it for my nephew's x'mas present.
  19. somethingawful.com brings you... Dorkiest Mechs of 3025 (BattleTech) Such an amusing writeup about the mechs of Battletech. Check your faves. enjoy!
  20. well, i just received my Rifleman aka Destroid Defender today. i tell yah, this guy really ain't worth the full price, much less at half-price. but oh well. just gotta have it. i take comfort that i got it during the previous sale. since I'm pretty meh on the Phalanx, this Defender will likely be my last destroid until Yamato decides to make the Spartan. unless, of course, them colored (OD/KG) versions goes on a sweet sale. a couple of pics...
  21. hehehe! better retire it already since you are aware that the real 1/60 Max-1S is still part of the HLJ-sale, right? http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00128
  22. the old thread was already closed, so I reckon we gotta start a new one with the home-video release instead. I was tempted to get the BD-version instead, but oh well. also, Something Something Something Dark Side is out, too, as well as a couple of other good releases today.
