BBTS had given out warning emails over the weekend before the new numbers were mentioned and it sounds like a good majority of their products will be affected Quote
David Hingtgen Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Back left of the new pic---are they teasing a Lt Rand? Slowly working our way through the crew of the Excelsior... (though, the scene/hair is clearly ST III, not ST VI) Quote

They're still taking pre-orders for the first wave, and that was announced over a year ago... 🙄 Heck, BBTS listings still have a "Prototype Images Disclaimer" attached, since we don't even know what the production figures will look like. Still, Star Trek has always embraced an optimistic view of the future, so I suppose it's on-brand for Nacelle to keep forging ahead and hope for the best. 😅 Quote

Chronocidal Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Dunno if this is on anyone's radar, but apparently MR got the molds to the old Diamond Select phaser and communicator. Not sure whether it's missing any major functions, but I was not expecting the price to be anything this reasonable, and I just decided to order one on impulse. https://www.masterreplicas.com/collections/star-trek/products/star-trek-phaser-type-2-2266-69 Quote
tekering Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Well, this is unexpected. With Nacelle's first wave of figures "in the final stages of production," according to this article at TrekCentral, they're suddenly claiming to be 1:10 scale... and BigBadToyStore has updated their listings accordingly. 😲 As I posted last year, this would actually make a lot more sense, since they'd fit with all those Diamond Select Star Trek figures from TOS, TWOK, TNG, DS9, and Enterprise... ...and low-and-behold, it actually seems to be happening! Naturally, this begs the question of when (if not why) this decision was made, why we're only hearing about it now, and how it's likely to affect sales going forward. How many more fans would've preordered these figures earlier, if they'd been marketed at this scale to begin with? How long was production delayed in order to upscale the line, and how much will the final figures differ from the prototypes we've seen thus far? How much were production costs increased in order to make the change? 🤔 Of course, there are other possibilities to consider. Maybe the latest press release was a mistake, and they're actually still 1:12 scale figures... 🤨 ...or perhaps they were designed at 1:10 scale to begin with, and the original announcements were in error. 😒 Either way, Nacelle now looks even more like a bunch of amateurs that don't know what the hell they're doing. 😂 Quote
