Picked one of those up as well, just for the alternate colored canopy to use.

Also wound up grabbing one of the armored kits from HLJ while I was at it, and the discount from paying in yen is pretty substantial.  ^_^  I'll probably apply the parts to one of the normal green versions though.

Got the pre order for the new one..IMG_7475.jpeg.daee0a53ec7396488e0ed4ff248ffebe.jpeg

Yay, just pre-ordered.

Now just need to wait and see if they do the RVF type, or an armored version of the blue-green one.

I'd like to avoid having to get a spare blue-green and a spare armored just so I can combine them.

Agreed. I'm really hoping for the RVF. Also, weapon sets would be cool. But I doubt that affordable option will arise.

I'm not optimistic about a standalone weapons set.

I figure if I can get an extra armored kit, and an extra blue-green, I can donate the armored parts to the blue-green AND donate the wings w/ weapons to my standard Alto kit. I'm hoping that buying a whole armored kit just to salvage parts from won't sting so bad if it's serving 2 purposes instead of 1...

Or... to look at it a different way, I guess if I donate the armored parts the left behind stuff IS the non armored Alto kit with wing weapons that I want...

That's a good way to justify it. But , for me, buying and shipping another one, just for the armored parts, isn't worth it.  I need someone from Etsy !

Who knows. They may release a blue-green armored. That's why I'm going to wait a bit. But I guess you want to armor up the kit you already have?

I'd like to armor up this Rim World version.  I have the Alto EX version too. Will eventually get the green CF version.  And will hope for the future. ;)

Kind of funny, I was just considering that if you wanted some higher quality weapons and pylons, you could probably get them from a Hasegawa VF-0 kit, since the triple missile clusters are just copy-pasted from there...

But then I went looking, and can't find any pictures of Hasegawa VF-0s with those missiles anywhere, or even proof that they ever released a kit with them.  Kind of sad, but I'm actually mostly just surprised they don't exist.

Dang.! You had me excited for a minute, lol.
I'm imagining most model builders and hobbyists will someday have 3d printers like we all have air brushes. But that's a long way off for me.  :unknw:

The missiles themselves from the 171 kit aren't that bad, it's mostly just the nonsense stub pylons they molded to the wings that need to go.  You could probably source some more realistic mounting hardware from any 1/72 weapons set that Hasegawa makes, and just glue the included missiles onto them.

The new Rim World version is out. Got notice from HLJ.

yeah, same for me. Sits in my private warehouse. I had the plamax basara and mylene as well as the VF-11 with booster shipped, or at least paid to ship, but it didn't ship yet. HLJ is moving to a bigger warehouse and has a new shipping process and it isn't working properly now. I'll wait until they managed to ship my plamax and vf-11 stuff. Then I'll let them ship the rim world vf-171.

Yeah HLJ seems really slow to process shipments now.

I just had the VF-0 gerwalk and a 1/72 VF-1 black aces shipped, but I have a bunch waiting in warehouse: PLAMAX VF-1S Strike, PLAMAX VF-1S Battroid, HG Fire Valkyrie, Glaug, 3 VF-1A Super, PLAMAX Fire Valkyrie, Mass Production Queadluun Rau, PLAMAX VF-1A Max, VF-11 Thunderbolt w/ Rocket Booster, VF-171 Rim World Model, and 2 issues of Macross Mechanics. I dread the shipping. Probably have to break it up into multiple shipments over time.

I've got one in my private warehouse. Thinking of snagging another before i ship all my stuff out of PW.

I feel like they could have used smaller boxes.

Absolutely- super annoying

Wave isn’t the best at judging box sizes. Sometimes there too much room and other times everything barely fits unless you repack everything exactly the way they were originally packaged after inspection

I have that tightly packed issue with a lot of Kotobukiya (Armored Core) kits. Some Bandai kits too for that matter.

For me, it was a few of the wave Votoms kits and they have a bunch of little runners instead of the bigger ones like Bandai and I would check out the contents, but I could never get the boxes back together without a bulge at the top

That’s such a great design. Might have to order one. 🤤

I Don’t know too much about Wave, but I loved the couple FFS kits I built.

I appreciate the box to be large enough to accommodate a completed model “with some dismantling if possible like removing arms, legs etc…” for safe storage until a proper display presents itself.

That’s the odd thing is that no matter how packed the boxes are in most cases everything still fits easily in the boxes after construction
