Good news, for the most part. I did like it, but there are things I hope they change, such as some better writing. There were quite a few moments of old cheese in there. I imagine they were trying to copy some humor from the animated series and it just didn't carry over well. Another is the actors playing Sokka and Zuko...

...need to do a lot better - or they need to go. Sokka just seems aimless and there just for comic relief that isn't funny. Then there's Zuko... I much prefer the movie version, who came off as a dangerous hot head, whereas this one is just super whiny and full of frustrated complaining. If those actors can do better, then great, but if not...

That's the problem with child actors. If Netflix doesn't kill the show, they should try to film more before the actor is an adult by season 3.

I had that thought too, that esp with young actors they should probably film the first few season concurrently. But then, that's a lot of work for young actors, especially if we should be concerned about their welfare. I wonder if another option could be to recast the role from season to season. Only partly joking there.

There are a lot of limits on them these days compared to previous decades. I guess that’s why they often will try and hire twins for really young roles. They also have to give them time for education and such and some time to just be kids. I think they’re trying to avoid the major downsides of childhood actors from previous decades.

I guess that’s always risky because they don’t know if the show is getting the green light for a next season.
