drifand
That's Kanji for 'car'.
NERV
excellent, in that case i shall get a decal of that and put it on my car, anyone have one that looks more hand drawn?
Phyrox
You're going to put a sticker on your car that says "car?" Are you so eager for a ideographic character? How about something that says something about your car, or your car's personality? It's like getting a tatoo in Kanji that says "man," or something. Your poor car will be embarrased. Unless you drive the most generic car in exsistance, in which case I guess it would be pretty appropriate.
Akilae
Rice Car!!! (Runs away giggling like a school girl...) seriously though, any time ANYTHING is pasted onto a car that wasn't on it out of the factory will get pointed at and laughed at as a "Rice Car".... especially hideous in South Cali.... the first symbol is okay, just don't go around explaining it. The "car" ideogram really shouldn't be there unless you have a good reason to.
Eternal_D
don't put "car" on your car. chinese people who see it will definitely say, "what an idiot, I'll bet he writes his name on his hand too!"

yellowlightman
I had a Chinese friend who used to go up to people with Chinese characters on their shirts/hats/etc and ask them what it meant, and then tell them what they thought it meant.. it didn't actually mean. drifand
Maybe you should just stick to MUGEN customizations? The Kanji for MUGEN means "infinity" or "without limits". Don't forget, Kanji are just basically CHINESE words adopted by the Japanese. Chinese folks who see a car labeled as 'CAR' are probably going to have a good laff. :-)

My ol' lady had MUSTANG writen on her mustang,,,,after a few weeks of teasing, she took it off,,what kinda car is that,,,OH, a mustang, wouldve never guessed,,,now by putting the word car on your car, that takes it to a new level
jonwayne
That is the Chinese word for "Chariot". You know, like that one used in an ancient war where it is a cart pulled by horses. It also means car in modern days.

Phyrox
How about NO kanji/symbols at all. Let your car speak for itself. A nice car is meant to be looked at, not read. I like fixed up cars as much as the next guy. Even though I am a muscle car man, I appreciate a nice modded ricer...but never to this day have a seen a car that looked better/cooler/faster because of the symbols displayed on it. Phyrox
If all you want is for it too look cool, than just find a design that looks cool. Go look through tatoo books or doodle something yourself. Maybe I'm old fashioned...but unless you have a sponsor, keep the writing off the car. pfunk
Thank you imode!!Now to get someone to cut me some vinyl. Vostok 7 My cousin does vinyl on cars, he even has the metallic stuff too, I say If it doesnt add HORSEPOWER, its useless like putting your last name on a license plate. I have a few built up V8's in the garage and Im working on doing an s-10 extreme V8 with about 500hp and a 100hp shot of NOS, you wont find a single sticker on it,,, the paint will be "something else" though. I have the motor, truck, trans (5speed) and rearend, just need more money and time. You want it to go fast, I can help you out. I install turbo's, superchargers and NOS's, if ya really want vinyl, I can give you my cousins number
NERV
I say If it doesnt add HORSEPOWER, its useless like putting your last name on a license plate. and i say if ur gonna be confined to within a reasonable speed over of the legal speed limit(10-15 over), the horse power is useless, as for the suggestion of making up a design for my hood, ill work on it, see wut i come up with

Having a lot of power doesnt mean you have to go 150mph everywhere you go. tell that to the guy driving the viper or Z06 corvette. Seriously though, if you want the vinyl, my cousin can take your design and cut it for you, he has all the professional eqiupment and a storefront. He is pretty cheap for the quality of work and he could probably ship it to your door. Its very easy to put on. I just dont nessisarily agree with it, doesnt mean I dont apreciate good art , ny brother is the same way as my cousin, He's doing up one of those mazdaspeed protege's and wants me to do the go fast stuff before the graffics

dna
I used to have the kanji for "Ichiban" across my rear window. Nobody knew WTF it meant. It was more annoying than anything else as all anybody could say was, "What's that mean? What'd you do that for? Hyuck hyuck hyuck"
gnollman
Heh.... one of my favorite things is to see the idiots who install the characters incorrectly... I've seen a number of cars with the kanji on their side rather than straight up. I've also seen incorrect characters.... Most popular one appears to be kousoku, or highspeed.... spelling's a pain Edited November 3, 2003 by gnollman
