Ryuji Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 I use "Ibere" - it's local brand used for car body repair. I never used Tamiya, so I can't say wich one is better but probably is same - including bad smell and hard to sand.
polidread Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 ah, so when you use this car putty, what tools do you use to put them over the figure, like what do you use to apply the material that is going to be intended for the skirt? how fast does the stuff dry so you can start sanding?
Ryuji Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 I'm still sanding her skirt...it's very hard to make resin cloth look "natural". I usually wait about 1 hour to start to sand the putty after application.
peter Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Haha, yes, a removeable skirt is an awesome idea!
NERV Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 some constructive criticism, in your first pic, second part the way the dress hangs off her right leg doesnt look natural, doesnt look like hanging cloth, looks like it's supporting itself too much
promethuem5 Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Isnt a putty with such a low viscosity rather hard to sculpt? I was assuming you were using something more along the lines in terms of workability like Sculpey or anotehr more clay-like material. Most impressive. Gotta love the 'action features' that figure has right now
baxojayz Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 There are many methods to sculpt. I've seen a lot of guys use the same method as Ryuji. It's a lot of sanding, so you must have the deepest commitment to the project. As long as his results remain so great, I wouldn't ask Ryuji to change a thing. I have some of his other kits. All great stuff. I bow before your greatness! Now where's that pre-order button?
UN Spacy Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 I can't wait to see how this turns out. Nice work Ryuji!
peter Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Me too, I can't wait to see it finished. Keep uploading pictures!

Ryuji Posted February 4, 2005 Author Posted February 4, 2005 Separating legs: - First, I make a hole for a guide pin. - Then, I cut her legs - Now with a pin I can build a new fit and keep the original leg position.
Anubis Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 your work is incredible, is there anyway you could do a nice Ishtar from Macross II sometime soon?chris He already has made an Ishtar. Check his page out. It's gorgeous as well. The new Minmay is awesome. Keep it up!
